Wow amazing. Animals are very receptive to music. When I play my sax just doing the warmups and long tones time and time again doves and other small birds will come to the window and listen for a bit.
Doves like music? That surprises me, but fits my theory on music. After having listened to music with a wild bird from 8 to 14 hours a day for 7 months, I've had some time to ponder how birds listen. They listen without distraction from a busy mind. Humans have minds that are triggered by music to think about stuff. Sophisticated listeners of music understand that thinking and listening conflict. Intense listening involves a quiet mind, and that's difficult to achieve. However, if you've got a birdbrain, like the little wild bird that roosted in my heater box, listening intently is natural and can be maintained all day. The bird found music to be most pleasurable, but it wasn't that simple. I think it did not like listening to music alone. Not in our case, at least, where the bird was so used to following what I did, that music got in the way of it's listening efforts. So, I couldn't leave music playing for the bird and then go do something, because the bird was compelled to keep tabs on me. It's as if it wanted to be involved in the action. As if we were nest mates. The bird has flown the coop, and I'm thankful, since the bird pestered me for music all the time, except when I was sleeping. But, if I were to yawn, or take a deep breath, it would tweet in order to get my sleepy ass out of bed.....to play music. All this sounds crazy, I know. This bird loves all kinds of music....you name it. That is different from most humans, who form strong preferences in music, being unable to listen to some types of music. I'm no scientist, and I don't play one on TV, but I think that music affects the primitive part of the brain, that humans "share" somewhat with other animals, but the advance part of the human brain either accepts that music or rejects it. Some people dislike all music. Some people only like a small portion of music, while others enjoy a wide range of music.

Try turning the news off a few days a week. Unfortunately since the news is like every other show, it's a business dependent on ratings. Click-bait, fear and anger is what sells. They have no incentive to report life as it really is and the beautiful stories that arise everyday.
Agree, stay away from the news. Keeping stress and anxiety to a minimum is important for your health, and knowing the numbers will not help you with that, nor will they help you protect yourself. Get eight hours of sleep a night, studies suggest the immune system is more responsive with consistent eight hours rest.
Since I happened upon these videos of Paul Barton playing beautiful music for elephants, I try to end my day by listening to several of them each night. I'm sure that they help me to have a better night's sleep. It's so hard to stop listening and go to bed.

🌞🐘💖
Tears for the compassion of this beautiful man for this beautiful creature.
What a beautiful thing to do for an unfortunate animal friend
Is the elephant dancing?
She is dancing, oh my god, she really looks like it.
I want to cry watching this, it is so beautiful. Gives me a little hope back for the world.
Same so beautiful
Paul Barton.
I have only just discovered your channel this morning. I have since shared one of your videos to my Facebook page for friends and family to see.
Every one I've watched has brought tears to my eyes. This is so beautiful and I cannot thank you enough. I absolutely adore what you are doing for these magnificent & beautiful beings. You're honestly one of a kind. I can only imagine what the world would be like if it were filled by people like you.
My hat goes of to you Paul.

Dear Mr Barton. Thank you for being a kind soul. I hope this éléphant is still well and alive. Love her.
It's like she's dancing. That huge brain, and giant ears... Makes you wonder how much more she understands than us.
That's what I thought too,so beautiful 💜
I love your comment , caught me off guard I’m way too hiii
i t s g a y s t a t i o n that way I can hear his beautiful rendition of Bach for a gorgeous creature in 4D ... u mad?
technically, their brain are smaller than ours....hmm but yeah, they're very smart
Very endearing, animals have beautiful dispositions and music crosses species boundaries and communicates with the heart.
Какое чудо! Ведь слон действительно слушает музыку! Люблю Бартона,его игру, его семью,его картины,пусть он и не великий художник.Человек выбрал свой образ жизни,не каждому это дано- жить не как все.Завидую.
And she remembered every note.
She's so pretty. TY for playing for her.
Lamduan is so beautiful🤗🐘💕 and so are you kind Sir!! Thank you for playing this lovely music!!🥰
What a sweet girl. I am crying, and came here because I was crying. I know she is a feeling, deeply intelligent old soul who understands what she is hearing. I wish I could be there with you, Tree With Yellow Flowers, because you are a big beautiful flower.
I live with a blind dog, he loves techno trance and peruvian music. Same reactions
😂
My blind cat is into the guitars. 😂
Lucky Blessed Creature...!
Your Wise Angel Advises Everyone🤗
Show him CoastDream, he will love it!
This is like playing the piano for somebody's old blind grandmother. Its her last and only enjoyment before she passes. Thanks for giving her enjoyment.
These gentle souls. Just imagine how he could annihilate that piano but is so calm and loving. He knows the gentleman is there for good❤
I love how at some parts, the elephant sways to the music. So sweet & beautiful. ❤
She dances beautifully.
This makes me want to cry on many different levels.
What beauty in two ways. The music was lovely but the way that sweet, blind elephant responded was precious. This man gave this animal something special that brought a tear to my eye. I love it when people reach out in kindness to the helpless, afflicted or just plain lonely, be they man or beast. This was so touching that you can't put a price on it! Bravo!
This video touches my heart, music is truly the language of all living creatures
She is so adorable. Wish i could give her a big hug
The most wholesome video I've watched in a long time
Eu amo os animais, e tenho um carinho ❤ enorme por elefantes. São gigantes com alma tão delicada. Obrigada senhor pianista pelo seu amor e respeito pelos 🐘
This brings a tear to my eye,,,,,
Career advisor: what do you want to do after you leave college?
Oh, you know, probably play some classical piano music to a blind elephant.

It is 2:30am and here I am in bed crying over videos of a guy playing beautiful music to elephants :) Lam really liked that last piece!
This is a glimpse of heaven - love, peace, beauty, and timeless music.😇
I not sure why but watching her sway had me bawling these beautiful creatures deserve so much better than we have given them. Thank goodness kind sir. God bless you.
I’ve just watched non stop for two hours, reporting on the pandemic. When she started swaying, I started crying. You tube, you came good in the end. I’m done for the night. Thank you, Paul Barton, for this upload. I’m so pleased to have stumbled into your channel.
😂 tears of joy!! ✌🙏🖖
Me too. I have been watching all afternoon. God created all people and creatures to be loved.
Since I happened upon these videos of Paul Barton playing beautiful music for elephants, I try to end my day by listening to several of them each night. I'm sure that they help me to have a better night's sleep. It's so hard to stop listening and go to bed.
Beautiful. Has me crying. I hope someone takes good care of her.
I Was Thinking The Same Thing Beautiful Elephant
She's at a sanctuary in Thailand, so is well looked after.
Brandy Hardin, same here. Tears of love for any and all who love and care for His gifts to us. It is then that we are at our best.

You must have a really ugly heart.
Someone is cutting up a lot of onions hers
Lam Duan's demeanor changed when you started playing. She stopped walking at the piano when you started. This is just a beautiful sight to behold !!!!
How beautiful!
How nicely the elephant responds! Showing that the music penetrates her mind....
& Sir you are a magnificent pianist ❤️
Good to see Lam Duan actually listening to the music, and not texting on her smartphone during the performance.
LMAO!
Haha! So true
I hope everybody become blind
Michael Tyson Wow that escalated quickly. 😐
LOL. *puts smartphone down*
She actually seemed arrested by his playing. Genuinely moving.
Jermaine Long she's totally into it wow it's amazing how focused she was
Petit Nicolas
Yep. I wonder what music sounds like to an animal anyway. We can only guess🤔
She was transfixed.
Genuinely *moving* - pun intended? ;)
Agree
Those composers from past would cry (and smile) deeply, whitnessing this beautiful moment... caused by his music. Well done, Sir, thank you Paul !
Love how this guy play for a sole audience. We all feel like we are the one elephant being played to.
I would give anything to sit on the grass next to this elephant while Paul plays the piano.
@The Secret History You are good at parties
