Xmax300 owner here. I went with the Xmax because at the time of purchase the Forza had the 300 engine which was down on power against Yam. For me though the Forza scores on one or two things over the Yam, body mounted mirrors, power screen and I agree about your comment about the position of the indicators on the Yam. Both scooters have their plusses and minuses and either scoot will do the same job. In my opinion the one major downside of both scoots is the open rear wheel, when new I fitted a rear hugger on mine it saves the engine getting covered in grud. The Forza and the Xmax are the same price here in France. Two years on I was thinking my Xmax will be with me for a few years, it's my first scooter after riding motorcycles for over 50 years. There is now a fly in the ointment, Honda have released the ADV 350, it's available mid December, my bank balance may suffer in the new year.

thanks for the comment and all good points for a potential buyer to consider. i will have to check out this rear hugger which covers the engine bay as i've never heard of one. saying that though this is really my first adventure into scooter riding...lol
yeah i have viewed clips on the release of the new adv 350 and in my next clip i am out riding the forza 350
unfortunately no word yet this way if the adv 350 is coming to Aust or not.

Glad I discovered you about a week ago Warro. I’m only a couple of hours away from you, in Dubbo. My last ride was a Majesty 400, which I threw down the road at a bit over 80kph when a driver decided not to give way and turned into his work driveway. (About 6 years ago.) I was wrapped not to be injured beside a sore hip and bursitis in the shoulder ( had broken my back only 18 months earlier in a paragliding crash and was impressed that no further damage in that department). Been looking at various types of rides, mostly on the smaller side of things and you do an impressive job of showing off quite a few and even ones I wouldn’t have considered. I expect to be buying later in the year and you have been giving plenty of food for thought. Thank you.👍

Good review Warro. Where you are, the 300-400cc range make more sense than the 150-160.
On inner city roads where the cities were designed for horses and carts, nothing beats the smaller machines if you want to dart in and out of traffic - in countries like Australia where you can filter, that is.

Looking forward very much to your thoughts on the Xmax when you get it out on the open road. Thanks for that ride review, Warro. The Yamaha's engine and exhaust noise does seem quiet and kind of calming as you mention. Nice for riding around town and for anyone who decides to ride without wearing earplugs. Do both scooters have a variable-ratio belt drive transmission? When you have an opportunity, perhaps you can comment on if there is any difference between the function of the two scooter transmissions. I wouldn't be surprised if the Yamaha was optimized for acceleration and the Honda's transmission was more designed for higher speeds and fuel mileage. I have found that riding my Zero with its direct-drive design is very relaxing and helps to keep your mind on what is going on around you. Life without a gearbox and clutch is something to consider. lol I am looking forward to a similar ride review of the Honda around the same route.

very easy to do a uturn on these as its very well balanced. even to move around around or amongst my other bikes...too easy compared to the 500cc single which weights say an extra 15kgs and more of a handful.
i put it down to the weight being very low on the scoot and to the rear.
when the forza fell over from the side stand incident i had no trouble lifting it back up . i would have struggled with the 500cc bike and its. only 10 kgs heavier

I don’t mind 8+C or higher. I stay 66km to 88kph when cold. At 97kph and around 4.5C. Your wind chill drops temperature by average -8C. If colder, it drops lower at same speed.
One winter I was caught at office until 3am (coldest part of night). OFFICIAL temp was -2.2C. With windchill my thermometer showed -13.8C.
I froze in riding position. I stopped 2miles from home at Breakfast Diner and walked in bent back and legs…..lol. I got free coffee and huge meal.
