Strawberry Lemon Shake-Ups!! Homemade Strawberry Lemonade Recipe

- You've gotten them at the state fair and now you can make them at home! Using only 4 ingredients, these strawberry lemon shake ups are sure to keep you cool and refreshed on a hot summer day. Add a splash of your favorite giggle water (vodka) to make it hard. Once you shake it up sit back, relax and enjoy the best homemade strawberry lemonade recipe!
What you'll need:
A 20 oz. glass with a tight fitting lid
1 cup of crushed ice (8 regular ice cubes)
1 cup water
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3 large ripe strawberries
1/2 lemon
Start off by crushing your ice. Crushed ice helps to cool the drink faster, the smaller pieces will dilute the drink and make it less cloyingly sweet and it helps to dissolve the sugar faster. Clean you lemon and strawberries well. Core the strawberries and quarter the half lemon. Add to your glass along with the sugar, ice and water. Put the lid on securely and shake, shake, shake it up! Shake for a good 30-45 seconds to completely dissolve the sugar. Makes an 18oz drink. Enjoy!

I am a lemonade vendor. Over the years, I have learned an old trick that another vendor taught me. You add sugar, and your ingredients and water, then shake. The warm water dissolves the sugar easier. Then once it is all shaken and all the sugar is dissolved, usually about five to ten seconds as opposed to thirty or forty-five seconds, you add the ice at the end and give it a good last shake. There is no big glob of cold sugar at the bottom of the glass.
I’ve been making this for a few years now and it’s amazing, however I do substitute the water for 7up/sprite to give it an extra refreshing taste!

You can also use a drinking straw (yes, you read that right) to take off the strawberry tops, that way you're not wasting any of the strawberry.

Crushed ice is one of the greatest things about the US (aside from complète freedom of speech & thought and from oppression, social mobility, American optimism, the best healthcare system, and Sonic BLTs on Texas toast). I absolutely see why Americans complain about the lack of ice in Europe now.

That’s way too much sugar, use simple syrup
No sugar will be better
This drink is terrible for you, skip the 1/4 cup of sugar next time and then it will be fairly good for you
