YOOO You have no idea how much seeing this video made my day! So awesome to see someone care enough to make a video response. I would make one myself but I am heading to bed and have four 12's in a row to do 😅
I'll still try to address some of your points. I also have played MTG Commander for a very long time from 2010 to 2022. I've played *so* many other formats too. cEDH, Canadian Highlander, French 1v1 EDH, Brawl, Oathbreaker, you name it! I'm a big fan of PDH now, Pauper EDH.
Anyway! You raised concerns about big "pop offs", while it sounds like it could happen a lot on paper, it hardly ever does. So many things nowadays in yugioh have effects when destroyed, or leaves the field, or quick effects in hand or GY, its actually quite difficult to out grind someone into a position to where you can easily kill them. I played 3 irl games over the weekend, and all of them were 1.5 hours long. I guess it would be more likely to happen if there was a larger disparity between deck building skills, or access to "good" cards. But again, I got a bud that builds on quite the budget and takes down top tier decks with a precon Charmers deck lol. You're also far more incentivized to help people in yugioh than MTG. In mtg when someone dies, its not *that* much harder to take someone out. In Domain, it is much harder to take the problem player out with one less person. So people actually interfere more often when they get the chance. Also, I would say its more likely to hold off a big "pop off" until after a lot of resources have been spent already. A pop off on turn 4 is much more likely to be successful than a turn 1 pop off.
Theres also much less full "board wipes" than in MTG. In MTG when Someone plays "farewell" everyone groans cuz the games gonna take longer now. There's no equivalent in yugioh to Farewell. I only know of one card actually that Bojuka Bogs people in yugioh lol. And while you may get Dark Hole'd in yugioh, that hardly means you're dead. People pack plenty of set spell/trap interactions to defend themselves.
No banned list surprisingly hasn't been much of an issue. People may want this or that banned, but theres no data that anything is running rampant. I have never seen a game where someone runs the whole game and all three other opponents by setting up a crazy board turn 1. Plus even if there was something like that, you only have a 25% chance of going first to set that up. If someone does get out of hand turn 1, theres 3 people to stop them. I have a video where a Tearlament player plays Painful Choice, a card that has no business being as good as it is. But that Tear player gets (rightfully) ganged up on after that point and dealt with. I like to use that video as evidence of this point. Domains also prevent people for the most part from just jamming whatever they want in one deck. You could play Invoked Elysium as a deckmaster and get access to all the attributes in the game, but then you basically don't have a playable deckmaster. So it's a give and take.
As for your question about Giant Rat's domain, You would not be able to play any monster with 1500 ATK or less. The rule is for deck masters that mention a very specific ATK & DEF combination in their text. So it has to include both an ATK # and DEF # together, not a range. But luckily, Giant Rat can run any Earth monster anyway 😅
Yo, Prime Material Dragon is actually bonkers?? He has such an interesting effect! He would be really good at actually protecting your board from Raigeki/Dark Hole/Torrential Tribute and whatnot. He would be a really cool deckmaster! Hope to hear more from ya in the server! 🤝🫡

I'm open to the idea I might mess around and come up with a deck profile.
