Columbo is the comfort-food of detective shows from this era -- this song really does justice to that. I can even kind of smell the warm, dusty scent of my aunt's carpet in her old house and hear their black-lab dogs snoring beside me.
Why does this have such a soft, tender vibe? 😮 After seeing this I want an entire alternative cut of this episode that just turns it into a rom-com about Brenner and Columbo meet-cuting at a business conference, then bonding over mahjong, then listening together to the chimes…

Same here. There are only two things that I can watch over and over and never get tired of: RLM videos and Columbo (well, the first seven seasons). I've subscribed to RedLetterMedia in 2010 and I'm pretty sure there's not a single clip that I haven't seen yet. Anyway, thirteen years after RLM, I've subscribed to Noiselund... you're doing a great job, and I hope that Mike's endorsement can bring you a lot of views. ;)

Does anyone else get a nostalgic feeling about this song the beginning in particular. Like when my grandpa would come into my room and he'd ask what i was up to and explained what game I was playing.
I just want to say that this video got me started watching Columbo for the very first time. It is indeed a very comfy show as many people have said elsewhere in the comments. Thanks for the great song and introducing me to this wonderful series!

Definitely worth giving it a go! They’re self-contained, so you can watch them in any order. The 1970s (classic ones) tend to be the better ones IMHO.
