Thanks for watching everyone! Some of the best steak and potatoes I have ever cooked.

good video :). if u had to own only one ninja would it be this one of the 6 qt indoor grill? i see they both bake and grill.... i just found the f555 grill at 120 bucks, refurbished on good ol amazon's slave factory......
@@SanFranciscoFatboy Well I REALLY like the ability to pressure cook, Cant do that with the grill....
I just got my nnija foodi and didn't figure out how to use the racks. Your video was the only explanatory one. Thanks!
Glad I could help!
Before releasing steam. I place a towel over the release knob. And then release that steam. This trapps any particles into the towel.
That's genius level 😀
Thank You for the demonstration. It’s easier to watch than visualize from a printed recipe
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for you videos. Your cooking is far more practical for me than the fancy stuff with lots of ingredients that some people do. I couldn’t be bothered with all of that. I’ve just bought a Foodi and haven’t used it yet. I’m looking forward to it though.
Ty! Appreciate all your help with my foodi ❤
You are very welcome 😀
Well, folks can lift the inner pan and shake it (with or without using oven mitts). It doesn't weigh anything close to the entire unit. 👍
It looks good. It would have been more helpful and informative if you sliced the steak so we would see the doneness you achieved with fourteen minutes so depending on how we like or steaks individually we could adjust the cooking time accordingly.
He said 165 medium medium/well in another comment I just searched through to find.
you forgot to sear that meat, makes it much more appealing ..otherwise it looked like using the machine was easy peasy
@@thefixer8457 Exactly. Adds flavour.
Can’t wait to try it
@@thefixer8457 Do you mean dirty another pan and sear the steak on the stove first?
Kind of defeats the Ninja.
You needed to cut the steak so we could see how done it was on the inside.
Agree. I now do that in all my videos. Thank you for watching and have a GREAT new year!
Scott Cooks How cooked was the steak?
Looks great! Here’s another way. Reverse Sear. Roast at 325F until internal temp is 110F. Pull and let rest for 15 minutes. Now place on rack and broil for 3-4 minutes per side until desired temp is reached. No need to rest again, just serve hot! Juicier than pre searing.
Awesome! Now I gotta go try that! Thanks
I used your video as a starting point and just made the same dinner. I am one that is not a cooker but everything has turned out just fine. Thanks to you I had some guidance and I have three delicious steaks and red skin potatoes. Thank you for posting
You are so welcome!
It looks like a really good recipe. But here in N.Y. across the whole state. They are usually served Bone-in because that bone Maro adds such richness to the dish. It's kind of like bone-in Pork chops... That's probably why everybody buys Stock instead of Broth. It's less Labor Intensive & our local restaurants don't cook the way we used to.
Brocolli overkilled ten folds over.🤦🏻♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Brocoli mush
RIP 🥦
$10.77 for (2) New York Strips on Dec. 6, 2018. I just paid $13.67 for *one* sirloin of close to the same size on 03-12-22.
Food prices are just plain ridiculous right now.
My husband just bought me the Ninja Fodi. thanks for sharing how to use it
You are so welcome!
What goes great with that is crescent rolls which only takes 8 minutes in the ninja
I just bought one of these because my friend raves of it, took it out of the box and wasn’t sure if it was for me. Trying to convince myself to keep it with watching videos. But I don’t know.. maybe I’m old fashioned in my 36 years, but I feel it takes all the fun out of cooking.
Aww too bad. For me it makes coking fun again. Trying new things and experimenting. Maybe try a few easy things like burgers?
This a lot easier then reading directions lol
Who reads directions anyways? LOL
I agree lol thanks scott
Looks perfect be glad when I can afford steaks
I think it's cheaper to just buy a cow and butcher it 😁
2 ideas when you make a video. Always cut it in half and show the consistency. This way we can adjust in our heads if we need more or less time. I also would like to know the time if you put in frozen steaks. Mention the weight of the steaks also Thanks!
Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for the video. I would have loved to seen you cut into the steak to show us how the steak looked inside cooking it at those times. I am a medium rare steak guy like most people.
most white people
@@paullebon323 lol
I just bought the 10qt dual zone version at canadian tire and it's great so far 👌
$10 for 2 ny strips. Now here we are in 2021 where I paid $13 for 1 at wal mart
We are living in a sad strange world right now. Food prices crazy high and quality crazy low. Hope things will change soon.
I love my Ninja Foodi! I was thinking it would be easier to just put 14 minutes on Broil and open it at 7 minutes. The timer automatically stops while you have it open, then it just starts right back up when you close it.
Great tip! Thanks for watching!
Pointing at broccoli - WHADDA THOSEEEE
Bad lighting, crappy camera and oh yea....I over cooked it :)
So I have the Ninja 5 in 1 and the 4 in 1.
I didn’t think I needed the Foodi until I saw this video.
This looks good.
The Foodi is a great appliance and very versatile.
We just bought the ninja foodi and I am so excited to watch your channel so far we have only used the fryer part but we r making a stew in it this weekend ty so much for your channel I will be binge watching as I learn through you how to use this amazing appliance .. hugs from 🇨🇦
Great recipe and simple details to accomplish it. I just wish you would have shown the finished results by cutting the steak open so we could see it, that makes a big difference.
Great suggestion! I am now cutting and tasting everything on camera. Thanks for watching!
Great video! Also, maybe people could read the comments instead of posting for the 100th time to show how the cut steak looked or whining about shaky video.
LOL :) I agree but it's ok. I'm just happy they are watching at all
@@ScottCooks yeah that's true. Trying it right now with yellow potatoes. Thanks for the vid👍
Thank you! I just did this with my steaks and they turned out well done just the way i like them.
Your presentation style is marvelous. Straight to the point. Would like to print out the recipe. Is it possible to reproduce the steps in printable form? GREAT JOB!!!
I put mine on roast which is a temp of 450 at the highest and 8 minutes on each side!
Excellent method!
My ninja foodi has just arrived and planning to cook the same tonight. I’m too nervous! Hahaha. Don’t wanna mess it up. 😬😂
You got this! Make sure you check temps and give your steaks a 5 minute rest after cooking. Temp will slightly rise during that 5 mins.
I will! Thank you so much! 😊
I just received a foodi for Christmas and I already love it. Thanks for the recipe ideas!!
You are so welcome!
Worked perfect for me the first time I used the Ninja so I 'm cooking again today... Love it!
Great to hear!
Easy and quick meal for 2; love it! 👍👍👍👍
I applied for a job at Indeck, still had to make it my own way.
Love my Foodi too. And its not mysterious at all. From FROZEN Thick New York steak. In the Crisper basket 5 minute on high, season it, then15 minutes on crisp. Its done, slightly pink inside and crispy corners.
I just ordered my ninja foodi today and cannot wait for it to come. Thank you for sharing!! So excited to use it.
Hope you enjoy it!
Hi Scott, the steak and potatoes look delicious, I love my ninja.
Me too!
Can you tell us if the steak had any pink left in it all or was it well done thank you for your videos. I am purchasing a used one today.
These steaks were cooked just beyond pink. I'm sorry I forgot to cut into them on camera. Please check out my other steak videos. I try to cut most of them on camera.
@@ScottCooks thank you so much for the quick reply!
Looks delicious definitely gonna watch more to use my ninja
It's so good!
Nice job! Would have been better for me if there had been less camera movements (jerky). Thanks
Thank you now I’ll try the same thing. 👍
Love my new Ninja❤️
Thanks Scott, I'm checking out a few videos before I start using my new Ninja Foodi. It looks great!
Glad to help!
Just saw this today. I have a really old Nuwave infrared air cooker and I prefer how it browns off the tops of the steaks vs what i see here. I have done the same thing only instead of basically parboiling the potatoes, I put them in the air cooker before the steaks a while and then add the steaks later.
I am looking at a Ninja Foodie....but do all not sear off the meat well??
The Foodi is very versatile. You could just switch to broil for a few mins at the end.
Thank you for demonstrating. Other videos weren't that great
Thanks for watching!
I just got one im learning how to use it.... thanks for the video
Glad I could help
I am making tomorrow in my Duo Crisp Instant Pot. It seems to have identical functions as the foodi.
Oi mate looks nice & easy, however be nice if you would taste the final product on Cam.
I try to do that now on all upcoming videos. Great suggestion!
@@ScottCooks Yeah I was waiting for the cut to be honest! That's usually what you look for in a steak.
Great video. I wish you would have cut it to show the inside. Thank you. I can't wait to use your recipe.
Nice! Let me get my Ninja on, I'm cooking this tonight!
If you want to know if he knows anything about cooking, just look at his broccoli. 😂
I must agree.
😂😂😂😂 were they canned???
I happen to like my broccoli well done. Don’t like it crunchy. You do how you want to do.
@@JackieDannenberg Yeah, I'll cook it the right way. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
I would have liked to see you cut it so I could know how done it was with the timing you used
He said 165* medium medium/well in another comment I just searched through to find.
Yeah i like the crispyness of the steak done in a pan, but i gues this is one way to cook it all at once
Looks like it could have used a little time under the aircrisp to put a little crust on the steaks...
Rubbed with some butter too!
Awesome video...thank you for sharing...looks delicious 😋
Most welcome 😊
Just bought my foodi 11 in 1 and I'm about to use your recipe!!! Ty for doing it all to the point!! Looks so good, wish me luck!!
Thank you! I just got the machine. So excited! Followed along. Awesome, so hungry now lol
Hope you enjoy it! Practice makes perfect :)
@@ScottCooks with your help, this was our first trial. It was awesome! Perfect medium rare steak and roast potatoes like Mom used to make in the oven with Sunday roast. Checking out your other recipes, thank you for sharing your wonderful information with us!
Loved the video. Very informative.
Scott - another great recipe, guess I will be cooling your recipes for the next week yum!
Sounds good!
Where do you buy that pink Himalayan sea salt with garlic and black pepper?
McCormick Himalayan Pink Salt with Black Pepper and Garlic

This seems great, I don't have red potatoes but my son went picking and got some blue.
Will try them.
You did such a nice job on the taters and steak and made the broccoli into baby food.
Still I'll give you 5 stars because you made it so easy.
My Foodi did not have any directions in the box when I opened it.
I can use all the help I can get.
Thank you for watching. Yes I overcooked the broccoli. Guess I lost track of time. Tasted fine tho :)
Ese platillo se mira delicioso se me antojo gracias por compartir con nosotros su receta😇
Mmmm, unseasoned steak 🥩.
A good steak needs nothing! Pure meat flavor. Incredibly delicious.
Is broiling them better than using the AC option?? Have you experienced with both??
Chef no tell, the Peanut's gang ???
Great job! I still would like my steak iron
Pan fried or grilled outside. All these air fryers or broiler make the steaks look like their boiled and like rubber. But you did a fine job .
Thank you! Much appreciated and thanks for watching.
Just got my 6.5 foodie and we're on South Beach so steaks are going to be the first meal, no potatoes though 🥺lol thanks for the video
After your 7 minutes were up for the steak 🥩, when the machine stops and goes to the cool mode you have to let it say done before lifting the lid. It has to go through the cool mode don’t just lift up the lid.
Just bought one the other day. I hear great things about it
Hope you enjoy it!
I really liked this video. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
so whats the difference between the 3 air fryer buttons? air crisp, bake/roast, and broil? If I set it to 400deg, would there really be any difference in those 3 buttons?
Air crisp uses a fan to circulate the air causing food to be cooked all around, bake/roast uses the the same top element WITH a bottom element under the pot and little or no fan and broil uses the top only with no fan.
I prefer the crock pot express the steam release is safer. The foodi or instant pot the release switch is to close to where steam comes out. 🤔 ♨️🔥
I have a question, how do you render the fat down? There's no sear on the meat and you didn't cut the steak open to see how it was cooked inside.
Thanks for watching! I realized my mistake not cutting it on camera. I now try to do that and even taste test everything. In this case I wanted all the fat drippings to hit the potatoes underneath to give them some awesome flavor. In a lot of my other steak videos I do sear the sides first if I need to.
My thoughts exactly!!! You either have to sacrifice potatoes that taste amazing, or properly seared meat!!
I use my Foodi Ninja often to make Stock. I often make a veggie stock I label it Neutral and put it away. I make bone Stock the same way. But trust me it's so F'n good... In Soups & Stews!
That's a great idea! Thank you for sharing!
This will b my 1st meal when I get this Fantastic ninja foodi thanks for the review 👍
Hope you enjoy it!
@@ScottCooks thanks 😊
Thank you for making this video is awesome
Have you tried this on air fry? I'm curious how the end result might differ; like whether it would give you more of a sear..?
On sear it looks like a barely done dolphin. Tastes okay but there's no sear. You need to up it.
ive just bought the 14 in 1 today, and cooked 2 sirloins in it. I had it on 200c Air Fry mode and it was seared about 85%, there was a few "flavour patches" but not equal to pan fried however perfectly edible and very enjoyable. I am very surprised and impressed.
No burnt oil smell in the house, no oil splattering out of the pan going everywhere, no tongs dripping oil when flipping it over and the kitchen remained cool with no smoke or condensation... I'm very happy
Is the steaks done in the fryer bit of the ninja
Yes and wow they were good!
This was great. Ya know, you got the Foodi down. No more having to bake taters in my conventional oven while I broil the steaks! Not to take anything away from you but what a machine. Imma so inspired to utilize it's capabilities! Thank you.
Thank you so much for the comment! This little Foodi device is very impressive. I sure your enjoying yours!
Mam, I can't make it up I've got these steaks that have been marinating. & the Flavor is just the Boss...
Looks great. Try it this week
Thank you ! Was delicious!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hola, se ve bien las piezas de carne, pero sería bueno que las partieras para ver cómo quedaron por dentro.
Thanks will be cooking this soon
Have fun!
Good show, but how did it look inside the meat itself? Is it rare, medium rare or well done?
One of my earlier videos and I forgot to cut it. It was cooked to medium. Just past no pink.
Indeck, I sent them my resume, how could I ever fit in ???
Good tip pressure cooking potatoes for a minute before adding with steak and broiling👌🏾
I recently purchased the Ninja Dual Air Fryer (8 qrts) to use along with my Ninja Foodi, too
Good stuff, bro.
/Bklyn👑
Sounds great!
So I guess it will be 2 Scott's cooking with the foodi. I got one for Christmas today
2 Scott's has got to be better then one Scott! Enjoy your new toy!
Ok Scott! Looks good! Just got a Ninja Foodie as a gift. Doing chicken right now.
I'll be watching you for more ideas. The steak and fried potatoes looks terrific! The
No you!
Have fun! This Foodi is amazing. Just takes a little practice.
RIP Broccoli
It lead a good life until I killed it :(
tried it last night, IS yummy!
Glad you liked it!!
Just bought a 7 in 1 Foodie but it has no broil setting..... Can I air fry a steak?
Second time doing this for Christmas Day, just two of us at home for lockdown.
Thank you and please do more of these!
Wish**Lamb (fresh) with nice clean bones, browned in oil, balsamic and fresh herbs.
Same potato method, no idea how long. Usually in oven in roasting pan and crisp up root veggies on a roasting tray and baste lamb until temp check shows slightly med rare, then rest to get the true doneness.
More to come soon! Happy holidays
Just got a 3 in 1 Foodi at Costco for $129 on sale. Still not sure about it??? Air fried some vegetable rolls and won tons and it was easy probably save me fifteen minutes from doing it in the oven. I'll ry a steak but I don't think it will beat grilling it outside but might be good in a pinch or a rainy day and healthier then frying.
Search for "steak" on my channel. I have lots of videos to help you make the perfect steak. If you REALLY miss the grill just add a touch of liquid smoke to your steaks. I really like using the Grillgrate Sear'n Sizzle. Search for that too on my channel.(No....they do NOT sponsor me)
That broccoli waved a white flag back in 2003......
LOL that's funny 😀 Thanks you made my day
That brocolli was grey, haha! Otherwise looked nice. My Ninja 7.5L (OP450UK) is being delivered this week! Excited!
Hope you enjoy it! I filmed that with an old camera and terrible lighting. I did overcook the broccoli but trust me it wasn't grey. Just bad lighting . Check out some of my newer videos. All new equipment. Thank you for watching!
What temp do you like your steak? I don’t want any more than medium
Depends on cut of meat but I often pull it from the heat at 145 and let rest 5 minutes. So 150 ish
