- This is a tutorial and walkthrough of the Sims FreePlay Book of Spells Quest, which unlocks the Spell Casting Hobby and the Broomstick Flying Hobby -- plus tons of magical items like pet dragons, pet owls, and magical furniture and decorations. This is episode 27 of our Let's Play The Sims FreePlay series. We're starting from the very beginning, with Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, and Harry Potter as the town's founding sims! (More characters from other fandoms will follow.) For this Sims FreePlay Let's Play series, we're doing tutorials and walkthroughs of all Sims FreePlay quests -- on a budget -- until we finally catch up to the Royalty Quest.

These tasks for the quests on Sims Freeplay are RIDICULOUSLY LONG! I can't even get the prize, a dragon, because I don't have enough lifestyle points. This isn't fair!

EA expects you to devote your entire life to the Sims Freeplay. They should make required quests like discovery quests where you can wait before you start it. I'm still in school, and I don't have a whole bunch of freetime to play this game. I like to play it, but I have other things to do.
I finished the whole quest and got the dragon without life points you just have to make sure you’re there to put your sim to the next action

+Scarlet Azriel -- The 7 day time limit for the hobbies starts as soon as they are unlocked, as soon as you finish whatever came before it, so you definitely have to get started right away. I don't believe you need to finish the hobbies for the Saved by the Spell Quest, but I won't know for sure until it arrives. However, I do believe you should be able to choose to start the Saved by the Spell Quest just like this one, so you should have time. Yes, you can use a neighbor's town to work on the hobbies -- we forgot that!

I've just started this quest and atm, my sim is relaxing for 10 hours
your channel is super handy and hepful like ill be stressing over a task right? and im like oh let me watch make 2 and the i finish my task and i'm relieved thank you so much
I just did this quest! While I was doing this quest, I followed along with you. This is my favorite thing to do while watching your walkthroughs! You guys seem to go into more detail i guess that is the word ;) While others just say the task and don't really tell you how to do it or get there.
In other words, I love watching everything you do. My fav channel you should have 200,000 subscribers!

+SimsFreeplay05 Thanks so much! :) You've been leaving such lovely comments. We like to do detailed walkthroughs because we like the quest stories, and also we think it feels more natural. Sometimes the whole "Let's Play for CZcams" thing can feel unnatural, for instance when we're recording with the intention of having the final video look and sound a certain way, but we try to really properly play these quests so it will hopefully feel like you guys can naturally play along with us. It seems to work for some viewers, anyway! :) As for our posting times, we live on the US East Coast so for that time zone: on weekdays we normally post in the afternoons around 2 or 3 pm, and on weekends we normally post in the morning around 9 am.

Loved the video, i've started the quest too now hopefully i can finish it before november so i can do the save by the spell quest. Couple of questions, the spell casting hobby and the broomstick hobby does the 7 day time limit start right after you finish the quest and unlock the next hobby or do you have to buy the podium first then it starts?
Also do you need to have finished both theses hobby to do the saved by the spell quest?
Can you go to a neighbouring town and use their podium to have 2 sims doing the hobby as to finish it faster?

I love this game, but the lengths of these quests is doing my head in.

I don't know if this idea sounds fun to you, but maybe it would be cool if you made a tiny house community in one of your lots (inspired from the tiny houses of Portland, Oregon). It could possibly be very cool to make each tiny house with its own personality and quirks. Some could be two story :D also, Ive only been subscribed for a few weeks. Sorry if intrusive but I was curious, are you two friends/a couple? And how did you find out about your common interest in sims/making videos? I think your Chanel is so lovely and interesting largely on the fact that you seem to bond together over this game haha. Cheers.

I have a funny story. The only limited time item I've missed so far is that broom, so I didn´t know about that absurd cost or it's function, so thank you very much for this video. The reason I missed it was because I upgraded to an iPhone 6 in the middle of the broomstick flying quest and the cloud re-rolled my progress by 3 days!!! Given how brutal it was, I just gave up since I was at level 4 with one day left. I could have blown a ton of LP's but I didn't know you could roll the dice thing without having reached the higher hobby levels, so bummer...
+BobbyBlaster That sounds so frustrating to lose progress like that! Argh! Yes, the cost of the broom (and the electronic cleaner) is definitely absurd. Plus, I forgot to mention but I'm pretty sure they only clean one floor, so they're useless to other floors if you have a multi-story property. But anyway, I'm of the opinion that if you work hard to win a limited time prize, then at the very least the first one you get should be free. :-/ But the game developers do their own thing.

I've been doing the broom stick hobby and it's frustrating that I only have a few hours left and I need 2 more tricks and I've been spending a lot of lp and I just get the same stuff.

Fyi When doing broomstick hobby don't click on your sim unless you have a strong stomach :) .03 seconds for me to get dizzy (dizzier, more dizzy, no! Not ditzy!) Then queasy etc....I just did this quest.I find it interesting how doing quests can change the dynamics of relationships and personalities (they're subtle but there, for me)

+Mikaela Louise All quests are possible without LPs. You just have to pay attention to your game and start each task immediately in order.

Make2, can you do the party boat quest stargaze or cloudwatch? Because I can't find out how to do it since no houses at the party boat have a telescope or a place where you can cloudwatch. :c
Yes, you need a neighbor with a telescope. Or you can skip the task with LPs.

i was able to get the fantacy cleaning mop, but this game is very cruel in not letting it to rest for 1 hour or untill a sim does a crap on the floor it just constantly gets out of its bucket every 5 seconds, please give broom more time to rest
