Enjoyed it. I love cooking on the grill too
Thanks Alvis.
tough break, glad your going to replant. Thanks for sharing
I’m not looking again till next week when I take the tractor and camera and we’ll all see together.
Dang even the crows like the Jimmy Red!!! I know Railey says the deer and stuff love that old style corn and pass over that GMO field corn for it.
Steaks look delicious ! I had to replant all my sweet corn because of crows too here near Kinston,NC. I put pie pans on wood handles the day after planting and it worked great. Now it's big enough they don't bother it. Love your videos. God bless.
I did my silver Queen in tape but that Jimmy red field was just to big. Maybe a scare crow in the middle would have helped.
Good you still had moisture in the soil to replant . Lawn chair , tent , and fire stick for observation services. Turkey’s, crow , and something with web feet I’ve seen . Maybe Canadian chicken web feet .
Some of it was bone dry but I was counting on this rain this weekend.
Getting some go rain on that corn you replanted. It should jump up now!
Amen . I hope so.
Joey , the darn crows , the steak's made the video , stay safe .
Thanks Robert.
Use mineral oil in your hopper's after cleaning ❤
Hey JT we like tractor action!
Hey Joel Thank You sir.
Man those steaks looked amazing!! Wish I had smellavision 😉😁 Oh no on the crows and Jimmy Red 😳😳
Don't feel bad at all, I have had the same problem, I have seen more crows in my few fields the day after I planted than you can shake a stick at. They didn't get it all by any means, but between my rookie mistakes, a few planter problems, and the crows....they sure put a hurting on the amount that emerged 😥 Now the deer fawns have found the little green sprigs and have started nibbling 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ I might have a few stalks left this season. You got that re- planted in perfect timing for this heaven sent rain!! Amen brother, he has a plan !! Thank you Joey for bringing us along, look fwd to seeing the progress!! 😁😁👍👍🌽🌽🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks Nelson. Said a prayer over it and we’ll take what we get. I would rather mine get hit more than someone who’s relying on there corn for feed or sale.
@@Jtwes Amen to that!!! 😉😉
Heartbreaking! Time for Sammy to get his smoke pole out after the crow!
Good video Joey. Crows can definitely be a menace. I appreciate your resilience and positive attitude. Sometimes all can do is try again. Those steaks looked really good too! God Bless!
I wished I had one now. Just got back from Church and starved. Lol
Cook mine med/well please ❤️
Be thankful for what you have, and just know that this is just a minor thing to happen. There is always somebody that has it worse off. Sorry to hear about your crop, some folks lost their house this week. God Bless and just keep trying.
Amen
I planted corn 3 times last year and didn't get a stalk because of crows. I planted last night and put that scare tape over the rows. We'll see how it works. My FIL bought one of those wavy arm noodle man that you see advertisers at used car dealserships use to put in his garden. .
Ive actually consider buying one for my sweet corn garden
Man them steaks look delicious, that’s pretty much how I cook mine. Sorry to see what the crows did. Was up early here due to a line of thunderstorms moving through this morning, weekend was a total washout, but our Daughter came to visit so it is great weekend after all. Great video.
Agreed it’s always nice to get those visits.
I lived in Jacksonville for 20 years.. I’m in Warsaw now exit 364 on 40
We made a video of the trip. It was nice down there.
Season those steaks with some 10-10-10 ?
Man I hate that. I’m worried out our corn too, where it had been so dry I have maybe a third of it coming up and nothing in the rest of the fields . I’m hoping after this rain I’ll start seeing the rest pop through but if not I’ll probably be replanting it
If it stayed dry on it it should be ok.
Cow meet butter, butter meet cow. We've met before TY.
Sorry about your Jimmy Red Joey. The crows and deer hit my Jimmy Red but nothing like that, but the deer are sure bad on my peas right now. I hope your second planting does really well. Good luck and God bless!
Hey Kyle Thank You but it’s ok. We’ll see what this second planting does and just go from there.
I don’t know why this don’t get old but watching dat der planter wheel go round and round just luv it Go crows lol
Hey Joey, the Crows do have their babies the same time Songbirds do or thereabouts. I've watched them find their nests and remove the little ones from them as well as from bird houses to take to their babies unless I step in! All because of sin entering into the world. We ( me and Tiffany) love our steaks medium well also! If you order it that way at most restaurants it will either be well-done or pink, lol!🤣 Who can afford to eat out anymore? 🤔 McDonalds is $40 for the 5 of us! 🤨
McDonald’s is as much as a cloth table restaurant now. Im really conflicted with crows because I don’t want them eating my corn but at the same time I have a soft spot for them because they fed Elijah.
I’m sorry about the Jimmy Red. You’ve got crows and I’ve had ground hogs. Now on to the steaks I think I might have missed the time we were supposed to be there. Lol
They did look good, but maybe next time.
Yes sir . 👍
Wow! Hard to believe that the crows did that much damage. I noticed I had a few spots that something got into the corn before we left, but still had 80=90% stand. Hope you get some with the hot stick. Steaks looked great, but watch that cholesterol Brother, 2 stents 2 years ago and another artery blocked 100% a few months back, but it's grown "little finger feeders" the doc said.
Your right. I’m glad it rerouted for you that’s a blessing for sure.
I saw in the chat on DSH where you said "crow rays" and I thought oh no, they got'em. Hopefully, they'll leave it alone this time.
You and me both. I’m tempted to not go look for about 10 days.
You should try crow away on your corn. You put it on the seed and when they eat it the treated corn upsets their stomach and they will not eat it.
I definitely will next year. I should have this year.
If you put some fertilizer when planting the crows will it a lone
That’s the first I’ve heard that. I’ve lost some silver Queen last year that I put fertilizer down when I planted it.
@@Jtwes yes you lost some not 80%
Oh naw, hate that about the Jimmy red…
I’ll give it one more try . I still have enough after replant to try next year.
I just had a conversation with an old farmer yesterday about crows. He quickly responded to me “throw some shelled corn on the ground around your patch. The crows will eat that and give the corn time to latch to the ground”.
I’m definitely going to try it.
Wee we actually ended up accidentally trying that. When we finished I went to take the hopper off and the bottom came unlatched and spilled out a pile of corn.
I’m glad I live up wind of you…. Those steaks look good. Haven’t seen any crows, but saw a rabbit out around the garden early this morning. Got any rabbit recipes? 🤣
Grilled always makes anything taste good.
@@Jtwes grilled or smoked. Smoked some pheasants a few weeks ago for the first time and they turned out really good. Never tried smoking rabbit 🤔
@@Railfan90Aren’t they hard to keep lit? You tobacco growers smoke everything! Lol. Best regards.
@@stanleyconrad4234 with enough carb cleaner anything will burn….. now rolling them is a different story 🤣
@@Railfan90 Yep. Especially if still alive!
Try brushing a little mustard on your steaks when you cook them and you can cook them well done and they still will not dry out. You will never taste it and will never know you put mustard on them as they were cooking.
You see a lot of Ribs smoked using mustard.
Have ever grown tobacco
We did when I was younger.
Maybe if you put a couple scarecrows up my hemi is a 2012 with 50,000 miles I just found out about the hemi tick mine is making a ticking noise hopefully it's just the lifter And not there roller on the lifter
Yep all those Chrysler products have the tick. They love eating camshafts! There is a real problem there.
If it goes away within a minute it may be exhaust gaskets.
It does go away pretty quick I reach down there and tried to shake the heat shield to see if it was loose so I don't have any movement I have to check may be the other bolts on the exhaust manifold
@@fishydubsfishing6516 my heat shield didn’t move but both sides had broke exhaust bolts.
Hey Joey, I finally got around to a comment. I have nothing constructive to add to all the previous posts. The steaks looked like a “pro” cooked them. As I have mentioned, I burn water. I love that field and would go broke on gas and probably cause compaction issues playing with my “stuff”. No green thumb here. Spent my green on another tractor. Best regards.
Ill cook us one next time were together.
Shout your mouth we’re drowning over here LOL omg we’ve gotten so much rain I don’t know how our bees are still alive and all the garden 🪴 it needs to move on and let us go through the drought that we probably going to have
Darn I could just bout drive up there to eat a steak yum yum get ya sum
Got 3 inches last two days combined.
