I know the spot your talking about. The shopkeepers name was ned. His business ended up failing, he went bankrupt, his wife ended up leaving him because of it. Last i heard he slipped walking off a curb and got hit by a bus.

To me is almost very reminiscent of Coheed and Cambria "light and the glass" song I don't know the name of the album but the feel of the song resonates in my soul and scratches the right itch.

Just found this album today. And it's absolutely beautiful. I'm doing well in life. I'm not rich but I've got my rent covered and I'm not currently stressing food. I'm warm my dogs are taken care of and I have a job. This music takes me to an ambient memory of a long forgotten past and makes me feel warm and safe from the days when my mother used to read me to sleep and tell me how much she loved me thats a very powerful emotion. The lyrics don't necessarily take me there but this music is warm RIP RYAN you'll never truly be gone after leaving such a profoundly deep part of you in the form of music for generations to experience and interpret into their own experiences thank you for your life lived we appreciate the energy you have left with us

I'm really crying right now. This album and Low Roar's music helped me through so many times in my life and have been with me since I first clicked on the thumbnail with the pretty deer on it. Absolutely heartbroken to my core, but Ryan will truly live on through his music.

I only found this selection today and I see from prior comments that the artist recently passed away. I instantly felt sadness despite not knowing him or his music. I played this album today and realized so much talent and potential was there inside. Life truly is far too short and I hope somehow he found happiness in the music he helped create as well as his life in general with family and friends and loved ones. 😥❤❤
Only today also and agree with all you said. It's amazing how music can bring people together and Ryan is still gifted and gifting though no longer with us. His time here and hereafter a blessing..
Make sure to listen to his other albums as well. They are beautiful, raw, and truly inspiring. He affected so many people through his music, and it was a tragedy to lose him (and not just for his music but the kindness that he seemed to spread to everyone he met in person).
One last album of his will be released soon, that he was working on before he passed as well
I know his music from the video game death stranding Keiro Jima knows just the right ways to send music with the right visuals with that understanding you are that main character that is holding that music through such a long distance that he only has it in just a hum, that's what I find, and see of it, as such a deep blessing that his soul is able and willing to carry the full song even though he himself is only able to know a few quick vowels of it.

Real art, especially the full body experience of Music, is evidence of a/the resurrection even centuries after the creator of it has moved on from our 2 dimensions, or 3 if we get it. Timeless music like this gives me hopeful intimations of the 4th..and beyond. Gives me basic evidence of continual resurrections. ... of slightly new versions of myself and others who have come to mean something to me. Thanks Ryan wherever you are. Yes: peace, after this fragile existence on Experiment Earth.

Music has the power to provide comfort and hope, even long after the artist is gone. I first listened to this album when it came out and have cherished it ever since. Today I learned that the talented artist behind these beautiful tracks passed away in 2022. It's hard to believe it has already been five years since the release of Death Stranding. During the difficult days of the pandemic, this album was a lifeline for me. I was dealing with strained relationships, family struggles, and health issues that nearly took me to my lowest point in late 2022. But this artist's poetic lyrics and haunting melodies gave me strength when I felt I had none left. Though he may no longer be with us, his gift lives on in the hearts of those his music has touched. I will be forever grateful for how his soulful songs helped me make it through my darkest hours. The connections we form through music can lift us up even after the artist leaves this earth. This album's beauty and meaning will stay with me always. Rest in Peace Ryan Karazija, we will forever miss you.

Dude I just discovered this band a month ago and I can't get over how beautiful this album artwork is! I usually don't care much about album covers, but I really want to buy the vinyl or get the artwork printed onto a canvas or something so I can hang it up in my room.

I am very sad to hear about Ryan. He helped with my healing back in 2011 while dealing with an illness. This is just not right and not fair (but nothing is fair, which is why music like his is created, to help us keep going). We lost someone kind and talented. RIP beautiful soul.

I found this album casually last year. I came back home after a long walk by the night, pretty drunk and totally feeling in love. So I rolled my last cigarette and I put play on this album suggested on the yt home. Well, I started to write about what I was feeling in that moment. The album shifted to the second song and I started to feel the taste of the period of life that I was living. I was that nostalgically happy to feel so alive that I cried smiling and laughing. When you feel the true love and so alive, you feel physically bad, like the temperature is gonna make to explode your eyes and push the heart out of the chest.
I found comprehension from this album, of this mental and physical consequences of a true realization. I fell asleep on my notebook with the half cigarette off on my hand, waking up I wrote the last phrase of the testimonial document of what i was incredibly feeling. The album was over the half, and I was over the night. Thank you.

I was instantly touched by this album and bought it in 2011, fast forward to today and my life still sucks but I can't believe Ryan has passed away. Life is really brutal. Rest in peace Ryan and thanks for leaving behind a pocket of beautiful music 👍❤️🏴❤️❤️

Yeah can relate, was stuck in a boarding school alienated from my environment and my family several years ago. Would walk around listening to this album in the evenings. Did help me understand what I was feeling better in some profound ways as only good music can. At the end of the day though everyone is on their own path and is saved individually, with which I am particularly struggling currently.

Low Roar reminds me of Radiohead's OK Computer album; it has the same type of detached sentimentality to everything. It's loving but lonely, hopeful but a little anxious. Paranoid, even. I really do love this piece, album art, music, and all.

It's like the child of Radiohead - Ok Computer and Sigur Ros - Agaetis Byrjun. Absolutely stunning music. Also reminds me a little of side 2 of Jeff Buckley - Grace

Discovered this album in 2017 and it is now such a time capsule for the best moments of 2017/2018. Driving through Iceland to this album was absolutely amazing.

Been drawing inspiration from this album for a decade, reminding me that a song can never be too depressing.
I've clicked through so many videos, through so many incredible, weird ambient landscapes... I feel like I'm going on a train trip, seeing a succession of crazy, never-before-seen scenes from history, important, weird musics through the window as I pass... there's so much to explore. So many places to alight and dwell in the ambiences that are on offer. This stop, in particular, is brilliant 🕊

I heard this album for the first time in 2012, I was being treated for severe depression and when I heard "Tonight, tonight, tonight" I was fascinated. This song has definitely become my hymn and it's been almost nine years since I've listened to it every day
Oh how young I was staring out at an infinite and dark sea, thousands of miles from home, underway on the rough, steel weather-deck of that proud and modest vessel. Oh how alone and lost and isolated I felt on my great and enchanting adventure. Whales brushed against the starboard hull, singing along with the creaking metal as they nudged us slightly off course. Looking off the aft bulwark, what I saw made me feel so insignificant that, for a moment, just a slight instant, I forgot myself and my misery so much so, that I could accept being forgotten with it. Two blue whales in beautiful play, in young romantic bliss. Oh how young I was when I fell in love with that cold, ancient sea.
I want to know more. This is a beautiful image in my mind.
This album means a lot to me personally. I use to listen to it a lot back in the day, years ago. My youth, my old friends, and my loves. When I listen to it after a long time, like now, so many memories come to my head, and it's sad and beautiful at the same time in a special way. I love this album, thank you Low Roar

I remember finding this about 6 years ago when I was in a bad place. Finding myself listening to it time and again, it's a good album to reflect on.

I think something a little deeper was going on here than difficulties acclimatizing to a new country.
Just bought this album on Vinyl. Hasn't shipped yet. My exposure to Low Roar comes from Death Stranding, and ever since, I fell in love with Low Roar, and the country the music hails from, Iceland. It is said that the game is modelled on Iceland, and that's kinda wrong. A replica is more true, because the landscape looks exactly like the country, even taking side-by-side comparisons. My funeral, I want my cremated ashes to blow on the black sands of the Icelandic beaches (The Beach in Death Stranding), while Low Roar plays.

What great art. It's of no coincidence this guy moved to Iceland. There's both writing and engineering overtones of Sigur Ros all over. He honestly sounds like a Sigur Ros/Bon Iver hybrid. Beautiful ❤️

What the hell, I can't believe it seeing these comments that Ryan has died.
I've been coming back to this album once a year or so for probably ten years now,
and it's been a comfort in listening to something I connect with, being a miserable lonely guy. But now it feels so weird knowing he's not around anymore, I'm a year younger than Ryan.
Now whenever I listen to this in the future I will be even more miserable. I fail to see the point in anything.
But thank you Ryan wherever you are, I love what you created.
