  • Hey guys! Hope you are safe and getting back to the courts! I want to share with you another piece of a live lesson with Rodrigo where we keep working on fixing his backhand and the movement of the left hand after years of playing with bad habits!
    FIRST PART OF THE TRAINING:
    • Tennis Backhand Traini...
    Enjoy!

Excellent coach!!! What a gem for players that are able to understand!!! Best inhave seen online by miles and inhave gone thru them all!

Thank you for sharing this video. This looks very similar to the two handed problems that I have, also because of 10+ years of the wrong habits. And so far no private lessons were able to significantly improve my backhand and different coaches trying to focus on different things. But probably you are very much on point here, since I feel that most of the power I have on my forehand which is not bad, us due to active wrist and forearm of my right hand. When on two handed backhand my left hand is not very active.

Great vid. Love the progression, and the reality of the “ fix”. No magic tricks!!!!!

I found that my 2 hand backhand have more power than my open stance but it takes more step for me to get to the ball. Is it normal?

You don't feel his grip is too extreme?

Not really. It's being his grip for 10 years or so, better to work on other things that won't let him out of playing for months! If he learns to work with the left hand it will be better. I have solved this on many players!

I tried to hit a 2HBH and I was going through the same problems as this kid, eventually I gave up and stay with 1HBH and never looked back.

He's too eager to get back to the starting point, pulling back too soon.
