A lot of people don’t realize the importance of the line “I don’t want your body”. This song isn’t about being dumped like your typical heartbreak song. To me it’s about unintentionally pushing that someone away, right onto someone else's arms. I was with my girlfriend for 6 years, since we were 16, we were each others first. We were so in love. Up until a couple years ago. It just faded. I didn’t look at her the same way anymore. She didn’t change, it wasn’t her fault. I just didn’t look at her and get butterflies like I used to. Going on dates felt like a chore. I started not being as sexually attracted to her. It caused a lot of problems with her being insecure about herself and me just not having the energy to help. There was a time when we talked even when there was nothing to talk about. Then I found myself becoming annoyed when she wanted deep conversations. I didn’t want to be with her anymore. But I loved her I wanted her to be mine. Words cannot describe this mindset. But if you know, you know. She finally saw that things weren’t the same and left. Now she’s with someone who treats her like a princess like I used to. I was so torn between feeling relieved to be “free” and being destroyed that she was gone. The thought of her with someone else made me sick to my stomach. I know it’s selfish to think this way. “I don’t want you, but I also don’t want you with someone else.” I was just so used to her being a part of my life. I was so comfortable with her. She was a huge part of my life. I still haven’t found someone who makes me feel the way she used to. Not even close. I’m afraid I never will.

She's open to being friends again, but I can't see myself friends with her while she's with that dude. I know I'm going to sacrifice a lot when I'm friends with her again. I used to walk around a lake in the snow/rain. For months in the winter. Smoking black and milds. Drinking. Every night at 10pm I’d drive off because I couldn’t sleep and buy smokes and beer. Stay out until 12 or 1. Knowing I have PT @0530. I’d blast this song on my red JBL inside my hoodie pocket. I did this in 2020 but feels like yesterday. When my wife and step daughter left me. Just became a raging alcoholic. I’d use alcohol(jack, crown, vodka) as water whenever I’d workout in my garage. Been sober since December 28th 2021. This song helped me. Thank you from a broken soldier🫡
