    To clarify: the skin (an external organ) is the largest organ of the body, but the animation correctly states the liver is the largest organ *inside* your body. The distinction is between the largest internal organ (liver) vs largest external organ (skin).

After that gastroenterologist asked to do viral marker, which was Hep C positive. And after HCV Viral load test was done. Thankfully it was acute Hep C infection. After 84 days of medication she is alright.

      +Eric You're right, the effects of hepatitis on the body are the same no matter which type is causing it. That's why the first ~1:30 is the same in both videos. The difference between Hep A, B, and C is how they are spread and the ability to vaccinate against them (there is no vaccine for Hep C). Here's some additional information: www.immunize.org/catg.d/p4075.pdf

    • @Eric-rm4uu

      which one is the most lethal? is there a difference between them all?

    • @tamikachantal
      @tamikachantal Před 8 lety +23

      +Eric Hepatitis C is most lethal being the fact that there is no vaccine for it, there is this new treatment out there that you can take 1 pill a day for 12-24 weeks that targets virus multiplication cycle. Hepatitis A is transferred through feces, like having unprotected anal sex. This virus is acute and the vaccine for it is HAVRIX. Hepatitis B is shared via shared needles with someone who already has the virus, it can be transmitted to the baby by giving birth, this one can cause complications as well and there is a vaccine for this. So I just think of it this way HAV is not chronic, HBV has both chronic and acute but fewer chronic than acute, and HCV has both chronic and acute but more chronic than acute. I hope that helped a little.

    It is important that your information is CORRECT
    Transmission of hepatitis C through sex is unlikely, and hepatitis C is NOT classified as a sexually transmissible infection (STI). However, where there is a risk of blood-to-blood contact during foreplay or sex, or where there is a risk of the transmission of sexually transmissible infections, it is recommended you practice safe sex.
    Mother to baby (vertical) transmission
    •Moderate risk
    •Hep C can be passed on to a baby from its mother before or during birth, but this is not common. Of 100 babies born to mothers with hep C, only seven catch the virus

      Hep B is both a blood borne virus and a sexually transmissible virus meaning that hep B can be transmitted through blood to blood contact and bodily fluids such as through sex. But hep C is only transmitted through blood to blood known as a blood borne virus. This means that you can only contract hep c if the blood of an infected person enters the bloodstream of a non infected person. Hepatitis just means inflammation of the liver so any virus with the word hepatitis in it means that it effects the liver. :)

    Answer this. ALL of the ways listed to contact this show getting it from someone else, so how did the first person have it? There must be a way to get any disease without contracting it from someone else.
