Nice vid! I gotta say though in dji's defence this isn't a 5 inch quad to be ripped and thrashed. It's fpv drone that can be used for smooth looking "cinematic looking fpv" that has a panic button to get you out of trouble. Just my 2 pence worth.
Thanks, yes I totally agree aswell that it’s not for ripping, aggressive split s‘s etc. A medium speed pan during forward flight really isn’t that aggressive though in my opinion hence my frustration. My biggest frustration really is that this drone should be capable of so much more if it was tuned better. I like the drone a lot, also loved the previous avata but i feel it could be better just be tuning it.
@@garethjones1 im sure you’ll love it - honestly the camera I think is absolutely spot on, rocksteady has been improved, it feels less brick-like in the air too. What I would love dji to do is to add a high-pid-gain option. That way they will keep the long maximum flight time but give users the flexibility to also fly a bit more aggressively and more importantly, handle the wind a bit better. Fingers crossed!
Thanks for this video! I noticed the drops on other reviewers as well and is one of the reasons I won't buy it. The fact that I have to buy the controller separately to unlock manual mode is another, speed limit in the EU another. Might consider this drone if they fix the drops and sell a fly more combo with the controller. Or unlock manual with the motion controller.
Glad you found it useful. I think with that many reasons to not buy it you’re right to hold off. For others, depending on their needs I’d still insist it’s very much a drone worth getting. I don’t think manual mode with the motion controller will become a thing as it would require a complete overhaul of the control concept - remember the biggest difference between manual and beginner modes is that manual controls the aircraft attitude whereas normal and sports modes control the aircraft speed and direction - which is very different.
On this particular day the wind was almost non existent. I really don’t feel a flat spin is an aerobatic manoeuvre though - this is something people will use a lot with whoops if for example your chasing and passing subjects. With the exception of this I think the avata 2 flies great. On windy days it doesn’t fly particularly nice - again this could be vastly improved if DJI offered is a high gain pid tune option
For flat spins where this problem often occurs I just apply roll along with yaw. If it was a banked turn then yes, I’d also apply a bit of pitch but banked turns don’t give you the same cinematic camera pan type motion
@@dronewilder5234 Thanks for clarifying, I was thinking to myself, "if you're just applying yaw, then this will happen all the time with most quads" (due to the fact you are pitched forward from travelling forward before performing the turn).
Compared with the A1 I’d say it appears a bit less rugged but in its own right it’s still very strong. I had one moment hitting the ground heavy on grass unable to pull out of a dive and it sustained no damage at all. I’ve seen some reports of people breaking frames though.

@@dronewilder5234 I agree mate it should be and prob will be more optimised with future updates. Hopefully I get out to test mine today.

Yeah it's still have that tumble issue. Although it's not as severe as it was
Yes agreed

Just a stupid question but did you disable the safe setting that auto correct the drone rotation if angle exceed 90 degree ?
@@ShakaG_ yes I always fly manual mode with it disabled
For a Whoop in those conditions, it did awesome.
What was the wind speed like?

Yes its flips, my avata 2 is very easy to flip. Same as the avata 1
It’s more about the yaw drop spin issue 🙃
Super cool 😎🤝
Nice flying. Glad you’re back.
Thanks - good to be back 😊
is the frame fragile, when you compare with A1?

Thank you. It’s what shitty(sponsored) CZcamsrs don’t tell us!
I'm sick of those mf who got paid
2en drone with same problem DJI suck !
