- I did a Bikesafe course with Northamptonshire police in September and here are a few moments from the day. I thoroughly recommend the course if you’ve not done any advanced training, or even if you have. We had a blast riding on some great roads and I learnt some stuff along the way. What’s not to like?

What a great police officer. Police motorcyclists have always impressed me as much as any other skilled riders. For some reason at the age of 64 I've a hankering to get a motorcycle, and start riding. I'll be doing a Bikesafe course and watching channels like this that know what they're doing. Always learning and we're never too old to learn.
I totally agree. Every day is a school day, and we never stop learning and putting new techniques in to practice.
Good luck on your journey to motorcycle riding, you will not regret it!
Elliott, if you fancy a bike do it, you’re never too old to learn new skills. I’m 60 next year, I’ve been riding for over 40 years on and off and have only recently got into off-road riding, I’m not very good at it but I enjoy it and that’s what counts. 👍
Go for it been riding since 1969 now riding a Kawasaki Ninja KRT done a biker down & bike safe then went on to take the advanced test. It's never too late. You only get old when you stop playing 😂😂🥷
Go for the bike, I am 60 and just got another bike after 30 years not riding. Absolutely love it but fully aware of my ability will be booking a bikesafe course for middle of year. Had rusty rider training as first step back
Brilliant day out isn't it, a good friend of mine, Neil, from @Back2TheBike went out with the Northants guys and filmed his ride too - he thoroughly enjoyed his day and promoted it on his channel about what good value it is.
The MP boys and girls get the very best training so it's a no brainer if your given the chance to ride with them. Enjoy your bike and stay safe - DB
No comments in two months, how strange! Hi & thank you for posting this video. Funnily enough I have just booked myself onto a local Bikesafe course with West Yorkshire Police for July of this year. I'm slightly apprehensive but at the same time really looking forward to taking part in it. Like yourself I will be videoing it for my YT Channel as I think it will be of interest to a few and will hopefully also make some good viewing and encourage others to get involved in the scheme. 👍
Thank you. Strangely enough despite having no comments this has been a fairly popular video with quite a few likes on it. I expected it to be unpopular to be honest as it's quite lengthy with a lot of riding footage. Enjoy your course, I had a great day and would recommend it to anyone no matter what their level of experience.
Thank you for such a good educational video.
I'm always trying to promote safer motorcycle riding my self. 👍
Thanks for the great comments and idea to to these videos.
Keep safe.
100% yes even as an advanced rider you can still pickup a lot of tips. 👍🏼
I’m watching where the police man positions him self for right and left hand bends
gonna try get myself on the course after I pass my test hopefully bring down the insurance, looks like a great way to meet bikers too
It is definitely a good way of meeting like minded individuals!
I’ve booked mine in for next month, did you find you had to keep up with the officer when he was in front?
No, you will be told to stick to the speed limits, so not much chance of them getting away from you! Enjoy the day, it's very informative!
I believe that British driving would be significantly improved if we had 5,000 more police bikes. When riding a motorcycle, the rider is constantly aware of his/her vulnerability and so more critical of careless or wilful road users. Even the mere sight of hi-vis yellow jacket and white helmet on a motorcycle will give car drivers wake-up call. Getting pulled over and admonished or prosecuted for wilful road use will do even more.
I agree. The standard of driving in this country has got beyond a joke to be honest, drivers know that as long as they behave past the cameras there is very little likelihood of them getting caught as there are so few traffic police about.
Ayyyy you went past my house in Litchborough
Very interesting. Have just started doing IAM in Northampton. You got them in slightly the wrong order. 😊 ..Information position speed gear acceleration
Yeah yeah who says a book
She's a credit to the police
What kinda things do you do in the classroom as I’m dyslexic
Not that much really, although it varies between forces. You get an email with some modules to go through before the course.
Always helps having an attractive female Police Officer on your Bikesafe course 😁
She was too lenient on you guys ☺️👍
She was a pleasure to learn from.
32 minutes onwards you were trying to impress her. On and off the throttle like a switch. Accelerating hard during corner exit. Accelerating hard upto speed limits. Slight bit of gravel, oil or horse shit will catch you out, even with traction control. Stay safe
I can promise you I wasn't trying to impress anyone, I was riding my own ride as instructed!
In fact, she noted afterwards how she herself likes to get a wiggle on in a similar fashion to myself!
Not saying a slide couldn't happen, of course it can, but reading the road, looking where you put your front wheel, and knowing your bike and it's tyres capabilities is key!
Have you considered doing a full advanced riding course with either IAM Roadsmart or RoSPA?
Many times, but at this point I literally do not have any time spare! I will do one day!
Point being that to get an IAM F1RST or RoSPA Gold you have to produce a ride “indistinguishable from a Police Class 1 rider, but without the speed exemption”. (As defined by my local examiner.) So if you aspire to ride like a Police officer, this training is absolutely worth making time for! 👍
@@fredgassityoutube7155 Not true - 1st and Gold are the basic level of a Police rider - Class1 is a completely different level
@@krytenListerpolice whatever level can’t ride like some. Self appointed book readers then automatically an expert utter bullshit
@@volt8684 ROFL talking out your sphincter - try riding against one !
You’re not a real CZcamsr until you have you GoPro batteries fail on you 😉 Nice to hear more of the dialog and feed back , often gets edited out 😃
I've wisened up now and have it connected to a power bank!
This is an interesting video for me, I didn't think it would interest many people, especially with all the dialogue as you mention, but it's been one of my most popular videos so what do I know! 👍🏻
