The reason for the door not closing correctly is Olight wants you to buy thier batteries which are about a millimeter shorter than a standard size CR123 we usually buy in stores. If you look into the negative (-) side battery well, you'll see a rubber washer at the bottom. Remove the rubber washer with a pick of some sort (should lift right up), now you can use any standard size CR123 battery and the door will close and lock without a problem.
Nope, Duracell and many many other brands work, it's just they they are slightly larger, always make sure to check out the batteries diameters before putting it into equipment like this
The reason the latch won't close is that olight designed the light to use only their own batteries, which are about 1 mm shorter than a standard cr123a battery.
@@thepunisher8763 are u still using those batteries? The batteries it comes with are 1600mah each and 3v. I can’t find a rechargeable one that will meet or exceed that.
@@user-hh4hc2lt6e send me a gmail so I can show you a picture of the rechargeable batteries I use their (Nitecore RCR123A) 3.7V 650 mah and their really bright in my olight ( jesuse610@gmail.com )
There is a rubber washer on the negative side that you have to pull out. It's pretty simple, I used a pen to get it out. That should fix your issue, unless you already figured it out
I heard that Varta brand is the same 34mm as Olight batteries, but it will close on the regular CR123A (35mm), if you push it down far enough to catch, but then the latch will flop up and down... Trust me I know about this light, and they're good lights for the money. My advice is to use Olight batteries or find a brand that has 34mm tall 123's. PS: BTW, I don't know if they've (Olight) changed the battery door on the newer ones or what... But the little trick of "removing the rubber 1mm sticker" from the negative side, doesn't work! The newest model has a sticker that goes all the way across the battery door (with +/- printed on it), and it is not removable. Unless you want to void the warranty, then they'll never take it back! I don't see any difference between the sides anyway (it's flat, smooth), so why do people keep suggesting it?
@@str8drop866 There’s a rubber o-ring at the bottom of the compartment, take a slim flat head screwdriver to fish it out. After that the door won’t pop open. Had the same issue with mine but taking that out will fix bro
You can use any other 123 battery however to get the latch to close fully put the light against a table and once closed with the latch flapping open push directly down on it forcefully and that will lock it in place
It will lock but the locking latch will still wiggle around. And when I attach the plight to a gun and shoot, the locking latch will pop back open lol. This is the ultimate finesse
I have the Duracell same problem but if you do it fast enough and mount on the pistol AKA glocks or anything that holds the door in like glock triggers. It'd alright but yeah I kept having this problem piss me off cuz I spent 100 on cr123a Duracell for my o lights... come to find out o light batteries are cheaper 12 for 24 and Duracell 12 for 28 or 29.
Ah, been wondering if I was the only one with the issue. Tried them with Amazon batteries, and the latch locks, but jostling like setting the rifle down hard or obviously buttstroking will cause the latch to pop.
I returned mine to Amazon for this. The Olight websight doesn't always have batteries in stock, and a light with dead batteries is pretty useless. And...these lights are made in China. Nuf said.

Came here to say this.
Thank you. This solved my issue.
you're the real MVP. Thanks!
Bad son of a bitch thank you for the fix

Yeah it worked for me thanks
Read instructions or complain it doesn’t fit non olight batteries lol.
Definitely someone that sends back products.
Man I watched this video and had to test mine out. Mine works with Olight, Surefire, and Energizer battery's
THere is a rubber spacer you have to remove
will be returning mine for this same issue. bought 2 different sets of replacement batteries and no luck.
It’s cause of the battery’s not a malfunction u have to use the plight battery’s if not then u gotta take out the rubber washer to make em fit

The sticker (spacer) is at the bottom of the negative side well, not on the door. You're looking at the wrong thing.
So after I removed the spacer can I have any battery I want
I'm having the same issue. That's not cool for that to be happening.
Me 2

just remove the rubber washer inside the battery compartment

Are they rechargeable batteries? I don’t think RCR123 works. Try ordering 2 Olight brand batteries that came with the light. They’re like $1.65 each
I got the one with the magnetic charger idk why everybody wouldn’t don’t have to worry about batteries
Remove rubber inside and ready

Yea
The door won't close because you have to use Olight batteries.

You need to only use olight batteries
