Classic and Disney era Power Rangers songs were really strong but it completely dropped the ball in the 2010s with just repeating the same Wasserman riff over and over.
100%. I kept waiting for a good one. Dino Charge got up there but Sentai was too far gone.

The fact that the majority of points Super Sentai got that put it far into the lead was during the period of time where the newer seasons of PR were all just doing remixes of "Go Go Power Rangers" really shows that they need to go back to fully original themes again. "Go Go Power Rangers" just puts all the newer themes in a ridged box that doesn't allow them to go as full out as they want to.
Dino charge and ninja steel did that too but everyone was fine with it
Anyone who understands music knows that Super Sentai's music is superior, as it has different styles and comical compositions. Power Rangers only has generic rock, apart from Go! Go! Power Rangerr and the opening of Dino Charge, the rest is bad.

Favorite Sentai theme will always be Shinkenger's, jesus christ Psychic Lover hits different. Obviously for Power Rangers the best opening is the OG, hard to ever top that.

@@nerothejackal9662 100% agreed, it got really annoying really fast, it was fine for Samurai because it was a start of a new era and they wanted a celebration of some kind but after that was excessive. Thankfully the practice mostly stopped and the mighty morphin theme is only really used for a small part of the openings but it needs to fully stop.

Just my opinion for the openings but
Super Sentai: Has actual lyrics that somewhat reflects the whole series’s Theme, also being the most bop most of the time
Power rangers: Mostly Just uses Two Gos and obligatory Power Rangers, either some or none actual lyrics that reflect the series
(I loved Jungle Fury, RPM, and Dino Thunder so no biased here)
I totally agree with you. Sentai for each season goes with actual lyrics that reflects the seasons theme and motives.
While Power Rangers usually go ,,Go, Go, Power Rangers" Style and if the seasons have some lyrics, it's usually generetic lyrics talking about heroism but not really the theme and motives given to the season. It's probably because most Power Rangers Seasons or the franchise overall really doesn't care as much about the given themes/motives as Sentai does for each season. And also they probably think that kids won't pay attention to the lyrics anyway so why bothering much about the lyrics.
Your Power Rangers logic only applies to basically everything after Samurai. The rest of them 100% have lyrics that reflect the series.

1) If you watch Super Sentai Spirits, the guy who sings the Gaoranger theme goes extra
2) Your brown samurai ranger joke hits really well because in Shinkenger there was an American tourist who tried to be shinkenbrown
Japan loves to use actual musicians for their openings, which makes this kind of a contest a no brainer.
fun fact: Go-Busters actually has TWO opening themes. The reason is because mid-season there was a dramatic shift in story because it was considered TOO DARK (and in fairness, yeah it was. The final episode before the shakeup involved the Go-Busters learning that basically the personalities of their parents and colleagues who had been involved in an accident prior to the start of the series...were alive, but being enslaved by the big bad to do his bidding; also they weren't exactly "alive" anymore either).
So the first opening is "Busters Ready Go!" and then the second one is "Morphin Movin Busters Ship."
It’s hard to compete with Ron Wassernan (dude who wrote Zordon era music and SPD.) The man knows what he’s doing and Hasbro needs to get off their butts and hire him

I think you missed one, Kakuranger was adpated for MMPR Season 3/Alien Rangers, with them being the Ninja Sentai though it makes sense that you didn't see them XD

Favorite for Super Sentai could easily be a toss up of Gokaiger, Go-Busters or even Ryusoulger. They're all just so good to me (But I like Kamen Rider themes way more regardless).
For Power Rangers I'm gonna say Lightspeed Rescue. It was the show that introduced me to Power Rangers, and as a result, to Super Sentai and Tokusatsu in general.
Runner up would definitely be Mystic Force. Still obsessed with that theme to this day.
Go-Busters will always be my jam. Love that opening.

Yes Gokaiger is amazing, my favorite Sentai of all time, yes Ten years later Gokaiger movie came out this year and it was really good, i highly recommend both, mostly the season

Go busters was out when I heavily got into tokusatsu. Shikenger might of been my first, but god damn does go buster have a place in my heart. still remember me as a child being distraught that they skipped go busters to do kyoryuger and was sad for like, a week straight
Same, Go Busters was my first full Sentai and I have such a soft spot for them.
Fun fact was I was remember. The Gokaiyellow actress Mao Ichimichi, the series of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger make her name up as well before starting on voice acting in anime.
Fun fact! Gobusters is the first sentai season with 2 openings
Super Sentai opening songs are always unique, not even one song sounds like another song from the franchise so far - 47 series to date since 1975!! Gobusters even had two opening songs due to plot changes probably (haven't seen it yet). Each song (plus their ending songs) is a part of an identity to a Super Sentai series with their team members and that's how it should be for Power Rangers as well. This goes for every single bit of the song, not just a bit here and a bit there like the songs from the New-Saban and Hasbro era (Samurai to Cosmic Fury and probably further in future series), which I consider to be the worst eras for PR intro songs. They just cannot get away from having either "Go Go Power Rangers" in the lyrics or having the same part of the original theme song squeezed somewhere in the songs; or in Cosmic Fury's case, a portion of Dino Fury's theme song been copied and pasted over to Cosmic Fury (smh). This is nothing like Zeo where the rangers were from the MMPR, so the "Go Go Power Rangers" and a re-done version of MMPR music after that bit fits pretty well and it's still one of my favourite songs from the old-Saban/Zordon era (hated it when they cut it in half by the time Gold Ranger was introduced). I really hope Hasbro considers having new songs for a change without even using some parts of the original MMPR theme song, it just gets tiring and it's no different than a toy commercial at this stage.

I'm glad Go-Onger got the point. Love RPM as a series but I always skip the theme on rewatch. Also, the alternate opening for RPM was better, and I will die on that hill

i would take the Original (Super Sentai). To me Super Sentai made it much more closer to children, not too violent rock or fighting too soon in PR. I don't want to underestimate PR, but because my bois and i used to be a "young buffalo", we need something that much more closer to our age.

The more recent power ranger openings are just might morphing with the the power ranger theme next to it. The early openings could go either or with sentai but the newer shows sentai will win untill power rangers give us a unique opening

Power Rangers back in the day had actual soul in their music, but after Mystic Force, their music took a swan dive and killed itself. Meanwhile, Super Sentai just continues improving its musical craft. Obviously, outliers like NinNinGer exists but, the majority of their music are simply addicting. I've been listening to Gekiranger and Zyuohger nonstop. I think I might be addicted 😅.

eu acho que uma coisa q vem depois precisa mostrar serviço, precisa ser melhor, e ao menos do zeo para o força do tempo tinha a vibe, mas do força animal para frente foram so jingles para dizer q o nome da serie era outro, num da nem para comprar com as japas q são musica completinhas com 2 partes um solo e 3 refrões, bandas e cantores diferentes, tem as músicas dos robos, e tinham encerramentos bons ate o boukenger mas eram muito bons!

Dinocharge had S tier theme. Too bad Kyoryuger had SSS tier... Both are in top 3 for PR and SS themes.

The Super Sentai series is more brutal. It has better special effects (you know, China). It has longer animation inserts (transformation, opening credits). The opening credits of Super Sentai include the entire title song.

So basically confirming Nickelodeon Era Power Rangers just was not even trying with the theme song. Like starting with Disney the quality dipped then just dived off a cliff wen Nickelodeon took over. The 80s where the golden age of just HYPE Theme songs for American kids shows, the 90s not as much but still going strong, the 00s starting to go down, and now the shows are lucky to get a Jingle let alone theme song!
