100%. I think a lot of the players who dominated in college themselves and struggled early in their careers thought that it was another Kelsey Plum situation!
Think they're all realising now that she's close to taking over the league, willing to sacrifice for her teammates, and he best way to both win and make more $$ is to be a part of the Caitlin Clark show

She probably would be ok with these stats but just naturally, she will score 17-18 points because her penetration is a big part of her game and she most times gets a layup or passes for an assist when she does. I predict though that she will be a 20 point/12 assist a game player for a very long time because the 5-6 3’s that she gets will start to go down to pair with her lay ups. She will also add a mid jumper that she can get whenever she wants. She will be the most formidable offensive player the league has ever seen while transforming the way the game is played.

  • @Weaver67bl
    @Weaver67bl Před měsícem

A few things I've seen here are trade possibilities and designing a team around CC/AB and length of contract. Caitlin's contract is a standard rookie deal, meaning 4 years, and the 4th year being optional, which she has an option out clause. Now, this could change because of the CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) expiring prior to the start of next season, which could make her current contract null and void, making her a free agent. Boston's contract runs through next season before she can opt out. Boston is in the same boat as Caitlin, depending on whether they want to stay with Indiana or to play together but on a different team or go to different teams. CC/AB has chemistry together, so if they did leave Indiana, it would be an expensive package. N.Y Liberty, Lynx(if Reeves is fired). I don't see her going to the sun because of the Olympic snub. She wants to play close to home. I just don't know if the Sky is a good fit for either CC/AB, Witherspoon isn't the best coach for CC. It's going to be interesting next year. CBA negotiations and the WNBA draft. I guess we will have to wait and see how the pieces fall together.

Fever have an interesting roster, overall:
Starter PG: Caitlin Clark - plays nearly 36 MPG.
    Starter C/F: Boston - plays 33 MPG.
    Free Agent:
Kelsey Mitchell: plays 34 MPG and can score or perform. They can pay her or let her walk.
    Temi: probably will be resigned.
    Other pieces they can keep:
Smith - reserve bench player or starter.
Hull - reserve G/F to play defense.
    Berger - PG.
Wallace - PG/ SG bench player.
    Pieces they won't keep:
    KLS - too expensive.
    Erica Wheeler - too expensive.
Dantas - expensive, so no idea what happens with her.
    I believe they will keep:
Clark, Boston, Smith, Hull, Berger + Mitchell or Temi if they can resign them. They will likely not try to keep the other players on the roster due to contracts or poor team role.
    Possible Free Agents:
    - Sabally or Nneka. Either player will be an upgrade for them.
    - I think they can choose to draft a Center if they want to in the upcoming draft. Or they can let Mitchell walk and draft Paige if they have the option. LAS or IND will likely be drafting Paige if not the expansion team.
They'll likely fill whatever needs they have in free agency with all their cap space. Could get someone like Carrington if they wanted as well. Entering next year with the following would be a good roster:
    Clark + Boston
    Sabally
Mitchell or Nneka (depending on if they want to pay one or the other)
Bench: Smith, Hull, Berger, Wallace types.
Then they can get someone like Momnga or Lee from the draft as a center. Or draft Paige if she's available.
    C/F - Boston
    PG - Clark
    F - Sabally
G - Carrington/ Mitchell/ Paige (depending on what they do)
F - Nneka or they can draft a center in the draft. If neither, they have Temi they can resign. Smith is always there too, which they can replace by drafting a real center or signing someone.
I think they'll have a top 5 pick in the draft. They ought to be able to draft either a Center or Paige. Kiki or Morrow will likely go to some other team, though. Kiki is likely the number 1 pick.
If they can get Sabally then they'll likely be a top tier team next year even with Mitchell at the 2 position. I think they'll likely get Carrington in free agency since CONN got Mabrey and Carrington will likely just be their defender next to Clark. Mitchell may not get resigned and may head elsewhere as the team signs someone in the Forward position instead. They might draft a center and then fill out the necessary pieces on the team as it is needed.

    • @Vadimony
      @Vadimony Před měsícem

      @@rhondastewart8805 Not entirely.
Frankly, they have an expansion draft coming up. So teams will select 6 players that they can protect and the rest are potentially drafted.
I wouldn't really take the expansion draft as a big deal for INDY since they have one of the weakest rosters and will easily have a lot of free space for good players.
Victoria Saxton, Kristy Wallace, Katie Lou, Dantas, and maybe even Grace Berger are potentially gone from the expansion draft.
      They'll probably only keep:
Clark, Boston, Hull, Smith, Berger, and maybe Kristy Wallace could stay.
Erica Wheeler, Kelsey Mitchell are free agents UFA and anybody can sign them.
Temi is a RFA and can be matched if they want to keep her.
They don't have to keep Wallace, though. Saxton likely could be kept instead, as they can always cut her anytime. INDY has a good chance of getting a better starter for the Forward position in free agency and draft a good SG if they choose to let Mitchell walk or get a good Free Agent for that position too. If they want to draft a Center, they can do that easily. The most expensive player is likely to be the PF or SF for the team: could be Stewart, Sabally, Nneka, or whatever random player they collect.
If Mitchell is too expensive, then they can get some defensive-minded SG in her place. They would be fine with those players--especially since they have Clark and Boston available for the future. They can even trade players for draft picks for the Juju/ China girl draft too. As long as they sign Sabally, they'll probably be one of the best teams next year.

If the Aces do not win the championship this year, I think Mark Davis and Tom Brady, the owners of the Aces, would LOVE to have CC. The Aces are a big deal in Las Vegas and the A'jia/CC combo would elevate it to a 10-year "must see" spectacle. The Aces also have assets they could trade for her and the Fever needs bodies. Most of CC's sponsors would be okay with it except local Indiana ones. I compare it to Lebron going from Cleveland to Miami. Lebron's brand blew up globally when he left the Midwest.

Of course most of the teams in the WNBA want CC on their roster. The first reason is CC will sell out their arena and increase the income of the team overall. The players have just watched it happen to the Fever this season. They want this for their team too. The second reason the other teams want her is for her basketball skill.

Game respects game. CC earned her stripes by absorbing the rookie initiation and didn't bitch about it. Espoused nothing but praise to her opponents. Make no mistake. She is an assassin.

international teams are going to be studying this game for the olympics. If they run vs the USA team, they have a good chance to win.
