    So let me get this straight all ardyn wanted was to be the chosen king to heal the people of the scourge with his wife aera by his side and what does he get instead?
    -Sees his wife aera gets killed right in front of his eyes?
    -See his brother Somnus take over the throne instead of him?
    -Gets locked up for 2000+ years and gets forgotten by history?
    -Wakes up and gets told by the gods that he is nothing but a sacrificial vessel of the scourge for the one true king to kill off?
    -Gets stabbed multiple times by bahamut posing as his wife aera if he decides to resist his fate until he yields?
    Yeah I think I would have gone mad after all that bullshit too.

      @@WarbossR0kt00fSant0s It's hypocrisy, all right...and the worst kind, too! Not just by the Gods, but also that SOB Somnus, who claims to have done horrible things to Ardyn for "the good of his people", when it's actually done out of pure jealousy and selfishness. Now if that ain't hypocrisy, I don't know what is.

      Lucis is built on major hypocrisy which makes me wish Noctis had discovered the true extent of it. Also I noticed that when the Royal Guards first came across Ardyn they called him an "It". Not him. It. They were dehumanising asf. Also it makes me wonder about the empire. I don't think it's truly as bad as the game made it out be or at least there's more good characters than were let on. The Niflheim natives call Lucis "gruesome" among other things which makes me wonder if Lucians hadn't pulled some underhanded BS in the past in the name of "saving the world". Also I feel like Niflheim was a safe place for those infected with the scourge and they had the technology to treat it (albeit with some shady stuff in the background). Also Ardyn is the best propaganda tool: he suffered at the hands of Lucians and it's TRUE. From the eyes of imperial citizens (if they were made aware of Ardyn) they would think the Lucians are the most evil people on the planet.

      @@maximesaindon3552 Actually Noctis does learn of it in the story, as they were meaning to release a sort of "extended ending" episode, Episode Lunafreya along with Episode Noctis. Technically a bit more of a what if story if Noctis got news about Bahamuts true plan and willingness to end the world to remake it so it could be cleansed from Starscourge if his plan fails. Basically Bahamut sees humans as nothing more than ants. And Noctis plus Ardyn just destroys magic and the gods to see to it the world keep surviving without Daemons and all that. I would've loved if we had gotten this... But sadly it was truly canceled :c

    I enjoyed FFXIV, but I'm conflicted on Ardyn's ranking as a villain in the series. At first, rather bland evil. More detail, monstrous evil. This comes out, Shakespearean tragic villain and the Gods are the real baddies.

      @AtriasNaradan Před 5 lety +8

      TheBeauJOB no, that memory where he saw Somnus as jealous bitch was actually Ifrit’s memory as one of the Gods of that world. Ardyn was the actual chosen one, before Somnus take it by force. Bahamut is pretty much a flim-flam God who play around with his human toys, and when he saw Somnus had the power to beat Ardyn before and how he can manipulate their people into believing he’s the true chosen one, Bahamut changed the game and make Somnus the actual chosen king of light, while Ardyn becomes the king of darkness.
      Somnus was probably at first was the intended king of darkness candidate in Bahamut mind, with all his jealousy toward Ardyn being blessed. But, Bahamut like switch the role because most people at that time already believed in Somnus lies, so Bahamut make that lies becomes the truth. If you watch the tendencies of gods behaviour on previous FF stories, they always choose the path of less resistance, the path where they can keep the most number of human followers. Now imagined if Bahamut keep Ardyn as king of light, many people will be torn to believe between Ardyn and Somnus, both will claim being chosen, many will end up staying with Somnus and end up straying from the path of light anyway and may end up forming a real strong anti-God faction that might have higher chance to produced heroes that might be able to oppose Bahamut’s godhood itself...remember that even one Ardyn with his power can subdue Ifrit, one of the gods of that land.
      So, that’s how Bahamut decide to switch Ardyn and Somnus role, to pave the way of less resistance for his “ordained fate” to come to fruitition...Bahamut sides with whoever have the most believer at the time. Plus, Ardyn was a real pacifist, who don’t want to take life instead of giving life, you can imagined what’s on Bahamut’s mind when he saw the prospect of Somnus fighting Ardyn for the throne, if Ardyn was still the king of light, the dark Somnus might actually win.

    • @AtriasNaradan
      @AtriasNaradan Před 5 lety +2

      TheBeauJOB Also when Somnus says he did what he did for the good of his people...he probably reallu meant it. He likely saw Ardyn being a pacifist king of light as something that’s not for the best for their people. It’s not a rarity for generals to believe pacifist ruler as bad for their people, because of how many threat could go unchecked due to ruler pacifistness.

    So let’s get this straight: the main villain is a victim of fate along with the hero, and because of that he decided to take his rage out on the royal bloodline and innocent people, not just out of spite for the gods and his sociopathic piece of shit brother, but because he was basically dragged into a distant future destiny for a thousands of years.
    All of this talk about Noctis fulfilling his destiny, developing as a character, and becoming a true king as everything he loved was torn down, this WHOLE TIME, was just to satisfy the whims of an asshole god.
    So this whole game’s ending becomes unsatisfying because I die killing a dude who was only evil in the first place because of OTHER assholes who ruined his life and who never even gave him a f*cking choice afterward but to die.
    And apparently, we’ll never have a DLC that gives us the satisfying of giving Bahamut the Good ok’ Kratos style treatment because this game is an incoherent, underdeveloped, corporate mess?
    Am I missing something here? Am I simplifying this? Because my first reaction to this was: “YOU’RE AN ASSHOLE BAHAMUT! I should have killed you all along!!”

    I am not surprised people have this stigma of good or bad. i always tell ppl its perspective. Once you get to know someones story you get to know why. The why is always the reason to the actions. More lack or Morals the more bad you can become. Different coping or some lack of feelings don't make you bad its certain actions that define who you are and what you become on the outside. inside the thing that drives you is what you really are.
    People will make something more of it to have different definitions of Normal, Good, Or Bad. Some People will think you need to be religious to be good, Some think you have to be well mannered, Some think you have to have success or save others. Some people think curse words make you evil, Some think you having a lack of emotion means you are evil, Some think you liking rap or Black Metal makes you bad. People think killing someone makes you evil well then cops and the army would be evil. Defending yourself isn't evil. The issue is what people place on subconscious bias on what they believe from themselves on another and this is hard to break until you look at things from many angles and practice doing so.
    I knew it was a reason for his actions just wanted to know why and glad they shown it.

They could have, but they didn't. Also remember that the starscourge was infecting innocent people. Instead of torturing them like the Lucians, the empire celebrates them and they probably treated the ones who didn't want to infected too (besides where Verstael is involved).
      I got the feeling that the majority of people who suffered in the imperial invasions were the royals. Yeah, there's some civilian causalities, but I'm almost certain that the Lucians racked up an impressive body count too. As I said no one ever wants to defend good deeds just look for ugliness in the good even if it's not the person who is at the the forefront who is currently doing anyting they'll literally breaking their spine trying to find excuses for the bad though, also if the Altissia thing didn't make it clear it wasn't only insomnia that had issues with the empire, they are an Empire because they took over and conquered multiple peoples who were already individual places which is obviously never good.

      He's not Jesus. Ardyn is never Jesus and never will be him. Jesus is Holy and is full of light and truth and he's God's son and him and God are one, he's God. Jesus is all good and has no evil. Ardyn is fictional and he's not God. Jesus however is real an is God. Here's another truth and I pray you'll listen, Jesus had to go to the cross for our sins. For all of us, he couldn't be sinful and do that, he was and is forever sinless. Jesus was fully God and fully man. Jesus not only could, but did live his whole life without sin. 1 Peter 2:22 says, "He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth." 1 John 3:5 says, ". . . And in him is no sin." And also The sinless Jesus was a perfect sacrifice. We read that God sent His Son into the world (John 10:36). He was expressly sent to live a sinless life and die as a criminal to take on the penalty of sinners pardoning them for their sins. 1 Peter 2:24 explains: "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed."This was God's plan from the beginning. He knew that we would need a redeemer. And God knew that without a redeemer an savior we were dead in our sins. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." John 3:16-17, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."Jesus saves all who will receive His gift of salvation. Jesus saves all those who fully trust in His sacrifice alone as the payment for sin (John 3:16; Acts 16:31). While Jesus’ sacrifice was perfectly sufficient to pay for the sins of all humanity, Jesus only saves those who personally receive His most precious of gifts (John 1:12).God offers forgiveness to anyone and everyone who will repent and believe and trust in Jesus Christ for salvation. This includes those involved in any sin. Once salvation through Christ is received, God will begin the process of destroying the acts of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21) and developing the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Sometimes God removes our desire for a particular sin and other times He gives us strength to resist temptation. The process of transformation takes a lifetime. When we fail, God is faithful to forgive and cleanse (1 John 1:9). He is also faithful to complete His work in us (Philippians 1:6). The promise of a "new creation" is available to anyone who will trust in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). When Jesus saves us our past is gone our sins are washed away by his precious blood and we new creations in Christ Jesus📖🕊2 Corinthians 5:17-18 (KJV) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
      And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

      Dude talking about Hella religion bout Jesus, hey this is a free county if he wanna call him dark jesus why not, Bible verses not necessary im sure he was talking about the story of Jesus. For all we know is the Bible you read is 100% correct 🤷‍♂️ we don't know but a great idea that it was tampered with especially with king James name behind it. So before you judge someone with all these bible verses there's a place for that and that is a church somewhere. If dude wanna say dark jesus l have no problem with it after all he is describing how ardyn character is✌ there is no need for all that bible verse crap

    People forget that the point of Ardyn's is that he had no choice and could not challenge his fate, which was decreed by the gods. He was a mortal and could not fight. Bahamut went with this convoluted plan to rid the world of the scourge and set Ardyn to be a sacrificial lamb for the True King who would also die. The evil Ardyn was forced to do was not his making.

    It still doesn't excuse his actions is the problem, people always try so hard to defend evil deeds, it's really a shame because no one ever seems to want to defend good deeds anymore but are desperate for some reason to excuse the bad ones and unless you're a child you know the difference between right and wrong so you can shove that prospective nonsense, guess what? people who horrible things happened to can still be good people and not go around taking out their pain and ugliness on others, you don't get a pass just because you have bad s*** happen to you to do it unto others
