According to Islamic way of eating it is not appreciated to drink much water between meals. After the meal you can take but not so much. This is because HCL in the stomach is diluted by water addition by drinking and also helps in gas productions, emulsifications, etc. and so disadvantageous for digestion. The reason is not mentioned in religious texts but scientifically this can be deduced😊
