- District Six as it was in the late 1950's and 1960's.
There have been many romantic versions of District Six presented on stage and screen, sung about but this is what D6 really looked like during that period.
During the 1970's the inhabitants of D6 were forcibly removed by the apartheid goverment (National Party) and relocated around the peninsula most notably Mitchells Plain.

Great memories lived in 28 Constitution Street de Roos Family
de Roos and Langwood families resided in D6 from 1930's until we had to move in 1660's😢
Sad when I look at these places.i went school there had my first friends there 😢Sad man the memories ad a child a young teenager was just cut too short.IMy family my parents were residents in Hanover street.right next to the Dairy.And that was opposite the Bungloos.yes we called it Bunglous 😢💔
