I always felt bad about how Bam treated Novak. I remember the clip of him finding drugs and kicking Novak out of the house and hearing Ryan Dunn and April telling him he has to get sober. It’s amazing to seeing him healthy and strong and happy, I wish that for Bam. When you’ve never been told “no” your whole life while being a millionaire in your early 20s it fucks with you. It makes me overjoyed seeing all of the Jackass guys still having fun and Bam’s friends grown up with kids and families, I just wish that same happiness for Bam

I will say with Bam, I could see that as pretty tricky. Steve-O has hit multiple rock bottoms before he was even a celebrity. I can understand the classic Steve-O mentality because he went from bumming off couches in his mid-20s to being an MTV A-list celebrity in such a short amount of time. However, indirectly, I think that also equipted him to face those challenges head on when it was time. Bam, on the other hand, has been spoiled damn near his whole life. Bam is only really confronting any true hardships for the first time in his life in recent years. Therefore, Bam doesn't know HOW to deal with those hardships the same way Steve-O does. He's learning a lot of shit for the first time Steve-O already learned in the 1990s.

a lot of us fall into two categories: you were there for your folks or you weren't. it's often luck of the draw. I've had very good friends in rehab, etc who weren't there because shit happened while they were running amok. by the grace of God I was here for my parents. dad passed in feb and mom passed a week ago.
I'm sitting in their big house writing this and leaving to mom's funeral tomorrow.
with God of my understanding, the fellowship, my family, and these real ones online i take it one day at a time.

I really hope Bam gets better, dude was a huge inspiration to me as a kid in terms of skateboarding. I even have a heartagram tattoo after being introduced to them by Bam. He definitely helped mold me in the daredevil I am today so it really does suck to see your heroes struggle.
On the bright side though, Steve O was always my favorite Jackass even above Bam because he was always soo funny to me. So to see him healthy like this is heart warming every single time. He's even funnier now now that he's got his wits together. I'm also glad Novak got clean because while I did enjoy him in Viva La Bam you could always tell he was absolutely loaded. Always felt bad for him because he just seemed helpless to himself.

My bf and I ran into bam last Thanksgiving. We're homeless and he was so goddamn sweet and kind and gave me one of his rings. He even offered to bring us to his family's so we could eat a Thanksgiving meal which we declined just because I knew he'd wake up the next day and be like why is this homeless couple in my house hahahaha and when we told him that's why we were saying no he was like damn that's so true, respect. But the offer was so pure hearted and I'll never forget that. I hope he's okay 💕💕💕
Edit: I just wanted to add that Ive had a 7 year battle with my own addictions and demons and I feel 99% of the time that I don't even recognize myself. But bam when he shook my hand and introduced himself formally looked directly into my eyes and said he saw my soul and how pure and kind it was, and I genuinely NEEDED to hear that at that point. Whenever I feel like I should just give up I remember those words and it keeps me in check that I do still have that spark in my eyes and the life is there and one day I can get it back. Much love for this podcast guys you brought to mind an amazing memory/story I've never had an opportunity to share. & You all inspire me to not give up.

I'm sentimental and the memory is priceless. He actually was apologizing over and over that he had no cash (at first I was like yeah suuuure but wasn't upset abt it) but then his friend said they really didn't n they were trying to get the one casino to float them money by pulling the do you know who this is? Card 😂😂😂 It didn't work but I know he was being honest he started searching his trunk and backseat for something to give us even though honest to God we were just happy to meet him. But he finally was like no you cannot leave until I give you something and pulled it right off his pinky and put it on my finger. Then he asked us if we'd listen to his brother's unreleased song so we spent a few mins jamming out with him and he was telling us how much the song meant to him and it honestly was a really special moment. Like I grew up on these guys watching them as a kid with my mom so to have that memory I'll cherish it forever. And again I can only hope he is doing well or gets back on track bc I've got my own demons and battles and I still saw the light in his eyes and his soul is still same old bam we all love.
