    you are a restoration god Mr.Tely. as you are probably aware there are lots of cleaver restoration vids, this has to be one of the best I've seen. the wood you used, very striking, beautiful colour when it was buffed out. thanks for not completely buffing the blade out, in my opinion that takes something away from the finished product. thanks for uploading.

      Sometimes leaving some parts less "beautiful" just makes the finished product look more beautiful. Don't know why. Maybe it is the contrast. Just like an beautiful girl looks even more fancy when she stands next to her more plain friend. Or shotguns that are hand engraved look more beautiful than lazer etched because they got that something to them. Small imperfections. I guess it makes things more beautiful to leave something ugly to them.

    • @just-dl
      @just-dl Před 5 lety

      @@ReasonAboveEverything I think the "handiwork" means there was a man, and not a machine, behind it. And, the man has a history, a story to tell. The hand-engraving is more meaningful if the "man" was a grandfather, father, uncle or brother. (Or, grandmother, mother, aunt or sister.) But, even the handiwork of a stranger (warts an all) has a beauty that machines cannot replicate.
