She goes into her room
Leaving the dark wooden door ajar
Slowly she brings herself to her mahogany desk and opens the top left drawer
And takes out the clearly worn and torn purple diary
For she saw him today
Walking down the street with that usual determined look on his face
What her eyes seeing as she looked out the window of the café
Making her feel things that she thought were buried away and only phantoms of the fantasy of her past joys and pains
Sitting there now
At the desk where she wrote about the moments they shared
The feelings she felt
And the love she thought was true
She opens the purple diary that she kept locked away
Having placed a hidden piece of her heart with it
For she opened the pages and as she skimmed
She wept
From a place where her secret of still loving him was kept
Her tears become whispers in the night
Telling the story of all she had been holding inside
I feel as if the piece had two parts. The first part I imagined was like a movie scene of a couple in a quiet place, the sunlight reflecting on their faces. The other part I could only imagine as the last moment in the movie, while they were standing in front of each other That was their last meeting, their eyes said everything.
I don't know if I'm the only one who feels this way, but "I Love You When I Drink Champagne" feels like the beginning of the movie, and this piece expresses the rest of the movie.❤❤
