Canadian Nationals Pulling Tropicana & Intermodal Train

- This is a video I made in 2 places first Orient Road in Tampa Florida of 2 Canadian Nationals setting up a train to head north from the CSX Uceta rail yard then the second passing over the double diamond in Plant City Florida. This is a new train that will consist of Tropicana and Intermodal combined and will move daily through the area.

That's the most juice I've ever seen go through Plant City at one time!
This is how the train will look from now on because of a new contract but should have the regular CSX locomotives

Plant City will never become a no horn zone. Trains are Plant City's heritage. Without the horns no heritage. anyway no one complains in the town.
Will this train be called a different train because of the Tropicana cars? Will it leave Tampa earlier then normally 8:30pm? I was great meeting you thanks for sharing.

Millenniumforce One time I got stuck by a Union Pacific locomotive leading a CSX Tropicana/Intermodal train in Pensacola, Florida.
That's probably the Q180 from the west coast, which almost always have a UP leader

Trains of Northeast Wisconsin they are both SD75Is, 5600-5625 are SD70Is, and 5626-5800 are SD75Is

hey Allen i was in midland Michigan and two trains went throw one a Norfolk southern gp40-2 single locomotive backed in the
NS yard and picked up 15 cars and headed to Toledo Ohio and a Canadian pacific ac4400cw , sd40-2 , sd70mac and dash 8 on the back went to Bellevue Ohio with 243 coal cars
I will be in Bellevue on June 17th
OK you will have a blast there is a pretty cool railroad museum and you can get inside a f7 locomotive and a gp9

yes and it was a few minutes after 7 pm last night. It should run again tonight. I will be there waiting for it.

from what I heard they will go directly straight through Baldwin to Folkston then straight up north
Goes Q046 to Jax then Tropicana is put on Q140 Single Stacks to Philly. Stacks are dropped in Philly and it goes as a unit train again to NJ, still symboled Q140
Why did the Canadian national is pulling the tropicana intermodal train? Normally CSX is pulling the tropicana intermodal train and are these two locomotives are EMD SD70M?
No these locomotives are labeled as SD75I locomotives

I thought CN doesn't go to Florida or maybe CSX bought that CN because it is cheaper to use different engines or CN came down to Tampa to take Tropicana to Canada
Sometimes CSX doesn't have enough locomotives to go everywhere so they get help from other companies to provide the rest of the trip. Those Tropicana cars only go to California and Jersey City New Jersey.

They are just adding the tropicana cars to there train.

yes. I am going tonight to Plant city to watch it again. but amtrak is running over 1 hour late. they are now releasing Q188 a little earlier than usual so if amtrak gets any later then it will leave in front of Amtrak

They don’t
The CN locomotives are SD75Is, built in the 1990s, CN bought 175, and still have 173 on the rails. Maybe is part of President Trump's killing of the EPA, no need for Tier 4 locomotives anymore. Thanks for the video Alan.
Nah, CN runs allot of really old locomotives. A bunch made in the 50s and 60s are still doing shunting on short lines.
