My 3.5 year old daughter always asks me to stop and watch your videos when I'm scrolling. I asked her why she likes your videos..."Because she's beautiful!" Your light shines bright 😁
Diane, the hole in the spoon is to measure dry pasta. The amount of dry pasta that fits in the hole in the spoon is equal to one serving.
Also, the hole makes it easier to stir without splashing!
Yes, for measuring spaghetti is what I was thinking. Never used one, but I’ve seen something like that.
Not sure if that’s one serving or two but yes for spaghetti!
Yes to not hanging on to things for too long, until they can no longer be used! It feels so good to keep things cycling through, not stagnating.
Just finished shredding and recycling all the paperwork from a court case four years ago - feels good for it to be gone. 😊
My vote for the wooden spoon hole is to measure spaghetti. Fly Lady system is such a godsend. Have been using it for several years now. I’m just recovering from Covid. Wasn’t able to do anything for two weeks but now just doing 15 mins a day. It’s amazing how much I have got done. The house wasn’t too bad as it was in great order before I got sick thanks to the Fly Lady system.
I am a quilter and it is hard to declutter as I see potential in everything. However I have found success with bundling fabrics with a book or pattern and offering it as a door prize at our guild meetings or quilt retreats. I am making up 10 bags of extra goodies I am not going to use and offering them for our guild’s Christmas party as raffle prizes. Watching others be so happy getting my unused items (fabric, books, magazines, notions) makes me happy. And it also lets me let go of the guilt of over buying and then I can focus on using what I truly love.
Hole in wooden mixer is for measuring spagetti 😊
❤enjoyed this so much cooking sausage and stuffing bacon rolls for dinner for the family and listening along from Northern Ireland 🎉
I decluttered a bunch of weeds from my garden.
Great advice from our lovely cheerleader
Your videos inspire me to keep decluttering and cleaning. I live in the tropics so it is hot every day
Just cleaned out my drawers while listening , you are great company xx
Watching while you are traveling for your swimming. Thanks for the support!
Fun day and not too hard. Thanks!
I decluttered 4 old pairs of shoes, 2 old sports/travel bags and 2 old foldable soft storage boxes. Thanks Diane again for the inspiration.
Okay, it's YOUR turn! What can YOU declutter today? Let me know in the comments, I will be cheering you on with a rah, rah, rah! 😄😄
I'm amazed at how much I'm decluttering in 10 minutes, while cleaning. Last week, for example, I was looking for a book while doing laundry, and ended up donating 10 books to the "little free library" in my park. I don't have a swap group but a friend from my weekly group was so happy when I gave her a pretty scarf I never wear.
One of the reasons I turned to your channel is some of the other channels I watch are encouraging their viewers to throw away massive amounts of usable items and it just seems so wasteful. I really like how you "pass on" items you no longer want or need to people who can use them instead of showing us pictures of black trash bags.
Thank you! We love to recycle here! ♻️ I also think it really helps - when we force ourselves to decutter responsibly - to stop the "junk" from coming back into our home. We buy less and we buy better. Or exchange at our Swaps 😃
@@DianeinDenmark Thanks so much for providing a place where people who LOVE to recycle, donate and creatively repurpose our items can gather while we declutter. From the comments I've read on the other channel, I am not the only one demotivated by people throwing out bags of usable items.
Hi, Diane! I continue to be amazed that you still find things to declutter! Rah Rah Rah! We moved 4 months ago and I feel I have decluttered my possessions really well, but have not touched hubby's. That is how it must be, right? But if you still find things, perhaps I should take another look at my stuff. Thanks always for the inspiration!
I found a big box of baby girl’s clothes in my attic today. My youngest is 28 now, so these are vintage! I’ve thrown out all the ones with serious stains, and will wash the rest tomorrow. Everything that looks looks ok will be offered to anyone who needs them. I threw out 3 dying plants, too. I also got rid of lots of pieces of cardboard I was saving for making journals, but I’m not doing that at the moment. I’m very pleased with myself today!
Inspiring! 🎉
Enjoying a sunny, cool fall day in Missouri.
Rah! Rah! Rah! Great video, as usual, Diane!
Not motivated to do decluttering today, but the video kept me doing my afternoon routine so still a win 😊.
It’s a drizzly cosy day in 🇨🇦. I needed some decluttering inspiration- thank you Diane!
Recently, I had lunch at a Tea Room, here in the States. As I looked around, I realized my antique amethyst dishes would look nice there. I asked the owner if she would like them. I’ve been slowly downsizing them. But also, I wouldn’t want her to take them if she didn’t want them. She seems pleased to get them and they are just the place. So, I will be boxing up the remainder of my collection. I’m excited. It no longer fit with my lifestyle and my children definitely did not want this collection.
Closet. I don't have a ton of clothes especially compared to many women but I started a new job last year and my clothing has increased but I have lost 50 lbs. So today I am going through my clothes and doing Project 333.
Congrats on your new job and your weight loss. Happy decluttering!
Dull, rainy and cold here in Texas today but I have my candles going and I’m making my own sunshine ☀️💖
I have decluttered coffee mugs before, but they tend to accumulate again as people gift them to me, so I’m going to go through those again today!☕️
We finally have a rainy day, so I have a quiet day to be indoors! I might do some cleaning in the lower level - my sewing room and the TV room need it!
I’ve been working on the huge project of decluttering ,or more properly, really getting rid of, my entire wardrobe. I’ve gone from a size 16 to a size 6 over the years, haven’t gained an ounce back for years, and just can’t wear any of it now. I’ve been hanging on to everything for years longer than I should have already. It’s so difficult to part with things I love so much, even though I know many look outdated now or aren’t good quality, anyway. I kept a few blazers, hoping they will pass for the, now outgoing, oversized trend. Some simple skirts I was able to size down, but I had to completely remake them, essentially cutting them in half. More structured items like shirts, trousers, blazers and coats just can’t be sized down that much, the cost would be more than buying new (tailoring is extremely expensive, like most things, where I live, a very rich area. It was $50 for my last hemming job). Thank goodness I can still use my shoes, socks and accessories. I’m so very grateful that for the first time in my life, I can afford a replacement wardrobe. Thank you, God ✝and most of my life I could afford very little. Do you have any advice on letting go of the things one knows she can’t wear anymore? I think it’s my nearly lifelong history of real material scarcity that makes it so hard (I had to get by with one pair each of jeans shoes and three tees, with no sweater, jacket or coat as a teen, for example), than you, dear Diane.🙂
Very inspirational decluttering ideas!!! Hope you have a wonderfully blessed week Diane! ⏲🎃
I use the large packing cubes for winter/ summer clothes when I’m not using them. Xx
Here in South Carolina the weather is changing from late summer to fall, I've been working on decluttering my wardrobe. It's suppose to rain here all day tomorrow so that will be a good day for more inside decluttering. Thanks for the inspiration.
I used to have those baskets from the FlyLady, but let my sister-in-law borrow them years ago and never got them back. I tried to buy them again, but they were not in the shop, so I use boxes and trash bags.
Thank you. My daughter is doing a swap with young professionals. That way a clothing mistake could be someone's joy. The rest donate.
I like the idea of getting rid of one item a day. I did this 2 years ago for 6 months. I need to do it again.
Great idea that your daughter is doing a clothing swap for professionals!
Rah, rah, rah! I just returned from a trip and am ready to continue my decluttering journey. Thank you for the inspiration!🦋🦋🦋
Finally raining here in the South East of England after a long hot Indian summer. Needed your inspiration today Diane so now to get off my bahuki!
I’m working on garage. I needed a body double to keep me energized. You are my go to motivation, thank you. Glenna 17:10
Good Evening, Diane! It's 🍂🍁 here and the temps dropped from 80s F to the 40s F overnight. The leaves are changing colors and it's just lovely. The wooden spoon is for measuring a serving size of spaghetti. I attended the summit too and did some more decluttering, OH it feels great. I decluttered, old make up, more clothes, shoes, greeting cards, kitchen items, furniture (night stands).
Great motivation video - It helped me start some decluttering today and feels great! Thanks Diane
You accomplished so much! I love your reminder to pass along items we no longer use to those who will use and appreciate them. It’s a win-win situation when we think that way! 😊
Hi Diane I decluttered my medication box. 3 severely expired sunscreens!, cough and cold medication out of date by 18 mos. , also went through cleaning supplies. I seem to have this aversion to finishing a container before opening the new one. Also tidied cleaning cloths etc. Thanks for the inspiration.
I recently decluttered then heels I wore to my wedding several years ago. I figured better to give them away now while they are still somewhat stylish and usable! Our library was collecting donations for a book sale so I gave some away there too.
Love your shirt/sweater. Thanks for inspiring me to do more decluttering before some trips and the holidays.
Thanks, Charlene!
I am enjoying seeing you taking things from each room-- just a bit at a time. I like how you yhink thru things, things i may keep arent most important. Ive gotten rid of crystal as I never had occasion to use them...
Thank you for reminder to pass along yarn etc.
I am mainly cleaning my bathroom today, and have I guess decluttered a couple of things (I have decided to pass on a solid moisturizing cream bar that I tried out. It was really creamy and easy to use when I was on vacation and it stayed in the car which was hot for half a day or so… Otherwise at room temperature and with my rather chilly hands, it’s too hard to enjoy, for me. Good to know!), and have consolidated and re-organized while cleaning … Also, lots of dust and cat hair and kitty litter 😂 (think under and behind the washing machine and in the radiator…!)
I use old sweaters on my Swifer to dust my floors. I do a load of rags every two weeks and use over and over.
☀️ 🌧️ ☁️ ☀️ 🌈 🌧️ just a typical spring day in Auckland 😅
Love these decluttering videos
Hello from a rare and chilly day (56°F, 13°C) in South Texas!
Woo hoo! I was very inspired by the Get Organized Summit, too. I have a lot of stuff going out of the house this week - clothes, home decor, jewelry, old cross stitch projects and even some things from the garage that my husband agreed to declutter. The stuff from the garage is surprising because he likes to hold on to everything. I got rid of a lot of old makeup and skincare and I'm also still going through papers (I swear this project will never end) and I'm making progress there, too. 🙂Have a great week, Diane.
I’m finally back on track, did my first swish and swipe in sometime yesterday in the master bath, doing the guest bath today. Then I need to organize the mail, it’s piling up. Thank you for inspiring me, love today’s outfit and D necklace!
Decluttered two toys that the kids don't want any more. Still got a little bit more to declutter and let go of but we've almost gotten to a vary maintainable easy to manage home environment nowadays which is fantastic. If you keep the one in one out rule going you definitely end up having a very simple and easy homelife to manage, especially for a larger family! 🥳💪😎👍
Great video Diane, you have inspired me to put an old bedraggled houseplant out of its misery!
Woo hoo, go you! 🪴🪴
You still amaze me with your decluttering, Diane!❤
We've had some very warm days in southern UK and I've made the most of it by washing all the mattress protectors and drying them in the sunshine and also staining my dads memorial bench to give it some winter protection. 😊
Thanks for the video! I'm coming back to old ones to be consistent with watching your videos :)
I always thought that the hole in the wooden spatula was to measure portions of spaggetti . I may have used it for that a few times. Thanks again for your uplifting videos ☺️
Been awhile I've been on this channel. Lots changes in my life. I love everything about Diane. Always there for motivation and inspiration and realistic 😊
I paused my decluttering habit post surgery this summer but I’m getting back into it! Thanks for the motivation! 🏃♀️
Hope you are back on the mend, Melm!
I so enjoy decluttering! And so does my family (other than my hubby - but most of his stuff stays in his office/man den)😊
Thank you for the inspiration! I want to declutter some homeschool supplies my kids don't use and some old toys before Christmas gifts arrive!
Fall here in southern US. Yea! Very hot and humid summers, all the way through September 🧦🍁🍂🎃🍲☕❤️
Lots to declutter here in my home in Queensland Australia where it is a warm spring day. Thank you for the motivation 🎉
Great video, Diane! I usually find something to declutter in the zone I’m in. It never ceases to amaze me that there’s always something! 😍
Just hosted my second swap party at work. It was a great success and everyone had a great time. Thank you for the inspiration.
Thanks for the video Diane! Still love your wonderful cheerful attitude!
Thanksgiving Day here in🍁 🦃 Canada 🇨🇦!
Thankful for many things including Diane in Denmark and the Flylady system!! I’m still unpacking boxes from my move earlier this year so I am decluttering daily!! Beautiful weather nights at -2 days up to 11 degrees. Thank you so much for the ongoing encouragement!
Started decluttering my kitchen pantry and fridge. A side effect of a shiny sink is an easier time to cook up food (which is a strong health and financial goal). Finding things going bad has me working on getting them prepped and organized.
Also, have to work on some spurts of cleaning/decluttering to find a key to unlock the trunk where I put all my winter gear when I moved... the first freeze happened last night. LOL
Woohoo! you did fantastic decluttering 🥳👏🏻💕Feeling a bit heavy hearted today with very low energy - the news is just sad so just taking it slow. Managed to clean out the fridge 🥳
Yesterday... I was doing so well... started on a couple of things from the wardrobe...thought I would do a few repairs before passing stuff on . got distracted by my sewing machine and started doing a bit of patchwork . Overnight felt really poorly... now covid has stopped play..... not a happy bunny.....😷😷🤧🤒
Hi and Thanks for another encouraging video!💟 But don’t throw the wooden spoon, it’s a Very useful tool, it’s used for slowly stir a sauce for example, it’s kind to the pan, reaches all the surface and and helps avoiding burning food when it boils and perhaps involves milk or cream. If You would have got more of them, it’s useful for mixing No-kneed bread or stirring meatballs, because it’s a combination off a scraper, whisk and a wooden spoon in One. There are small differences of the designs, length and so on, some are longer or have enough roundness at one edge to suit a frying pan perfectly, flat for scraping an at the same time the important whole in different sizes so You can sir without splashing liquid food and mixing at the same time. Diane, that tool is absolutely one of my favorite and useful gadgets in the kitchen almost every day and it’s absolutely Not for eggs.
At last👌🏻👍🏻🌺 a eulogy to You once again for Your fresh outfits, hair and attitude which keeps lifting those who gets the opportunity to look at Your film-clips. Greetings from the sunny eastern coast of Sweden today. M.K ☀️🌻🦋
Love the inspiration Diane! 🎉
We've managed to declutter some of our pantry items earlier today, due to family not liking certain items. They've gone to the food bank.
You always inspire me 😊
I always find you so encouraging!!
I’m glad that you’re keeping the Buzzcocks poster! 🙂 -Michele from New Jersey
A few comments on here mentioned the hole is for spaghetti measuring, however all the research I’ve done is that it helps with stirring risotto and soups where liquid can go through. It’s actually referred to as a risotto spoon. 🤷🏼♀️
The hole in the spoon is to measure 100 gr of pasta. Greetings from Italy!
I also “decluttered” my garden as it was going to be the first frost. I had to figure out what to make with jalapeños and beets. I made three different things using the quick canning technique just using ingredients I already had. I felt very good about it as I didn’t procrastinate and waste the veggies.

Happy Thanksgiving from us here in Canada! 🍁🏔️🦃 We had a very hygge evening with family as we shared a delicious meal together. As we sat around the table, we took turns sharing what we’re grateful for. My dad beat cancer this year, so we certainly had reason to celebrate! Thank you Diane for the time you put into making these videos. They are so helpful and appreciated!
❤ happy happy Thanksgiving!! Enjoy your special family time
I had a cancer scare this year - looks like I might have beat it too so I know how happy you are to celebrate your dad's good health! Happy Thanksgiving from South Carolina!
I miss your 15 min videos! Watching your older one repeatedly. Decluttering & house mgmt continue to be an ongoing project in my life. Thank you for the motivation & tips.
Hello from Texas! Hope you have a good week.🌹
Yesterday I decluttered a lot of my sewing yarn!
Decluttering in Michigan. It’s chilly beany weather!
Is it a spaghetti measure? The hole in the spoon?
I do LOVE a decluttering video!!!! Great job Diane ❤
Go you Diane🎉🎉🎉 hanging baskets & nail varnish are going out today…thanks for always giving us the encouragement to carry on 👍🏻💪🏻❤️
Enjoyed the Declutter and the going from Zone to Zone on this one. As I strengthen my Decluttering Muscles…I find more items I am excited to pass along or get rid of that I wasn’t in the pass through before 🎉🎉
Lovely to see you Diane! It’s still very hot here in Arizona, around 100 degrees Fahrenheit today. Doesn’t feel much like Autumn. I’m staying inside with AC and helping my youngest daughter declutter her bedroom.
Spring❤
Thanks for your uplifting video!
You were my self care while I painted my nails tonight! 🥰💅
I just took another trunkload of decluttered items to the thrift store this week 🎉🎉
Hi, Diane, wow, what a storm through the zones💨, I needed that! The hole in wooden spoons is from old times: if you read the old recipe for Sunday cake of my grandmother: you had to stir the dough a FULL HOUR and stirring was easier, if the spoon had a hole. Times before Krups handmixer: I have one and need your bowl, the original one is long gone and the new one isn’t new anymore, I don’t want to eat small plastic pieces… so on my kitchen list I added: new bowl. I should have looked after a MARGARETE in Denmark😁… You’re so good in decluttering, you should have a master degree for it! Ok, off of my bahookie, I’ve a mission… Enjoy your time in Edinburgh, haven’t you just been there? Love, Monika❣
You are a wonderful inspiration! 🎉🎉🎉
Decluttering my pantry. Necessary to do during season changes. Did my floors and dusting today as well as gardening.
We have got 3 days of Summer back again. Rare in October.Greetings from Ireland.❤
I am getting there Diane, you would be proud! 🎉❤
It is amazing that after years of my decluttering, I am still finding more stuff to get rid of because of your videos. I liked this zone by zone approach as a change from your day to day approach. Going out: an unopened very old $.39 package of a fountain pen with dried out ink for labeling clothes, unopened electrical adapters, a thick heavy dictionary I no longer use, and more.
Starting to cool down here in south central Texas, overcast today, in low 80's F.
