    I've just bought that same factory radio from the scrappy. for my 05 Fiesta , didn't realise you have to take the whole console off to get it in so I've just pushed it in from the front. Looks a bit stupid but the sound is mega !

    Just thought I'd update. The thermal fuse 10A (not resistor) was available from Radio Spares Limitor Thermal Fuse +192°C 10 A, 250V ac
    RS Stock No.:
    176-9328
    Mfr. Part No.:
    SF188E
    Just checked plenty on ebay 14p each

  • @goog173

    Hi, The cheapest way is to just change the blown resistor on the end. 10p job. Cut off the old one and twist the ends of the new one onto existing terminals. Get it on right way round (note that one end is sharp) Solder if you must. But it will fail again as the fault is always in the motor on its way out. Still my motor is still running (3 years on) Usually a 10p repair each year. Billy Goat.

    Great 👍 Video as always Gazza ,
    My blower worked on all settings but after 10minutes of use it would start to fluctuate with it’s power delivery, it was like someone was flicking between settings 1 and 4 it was constantly going up and down with it’s speed flow . I wasn’t sure if this would fix it as it was an unusual symptom of a failing resistor but hey presto it worked & now the job’s a good’un !
    Thank God 😅 for you and Norman, You’re saving me a fortune lmao , This job alone has saved me £42.50. Cheers 🍻 again bud
    Oh and to install it was an absolute f ^%#}{. Nightmare 🤬 lol ! I Thought 💭 it would be an Easy peasy job being just two screws and a cover to remove but it was an absolute joke to get too !!

    Just bought a fiesta from auction, Blowers not working on 1 2 3...Put it to 4 and the car cuts out 😂...I'm assuming because the battery is not great and it's -7° outside. Going to change resistor anyway.

    • @gazza9919
      @gazza9919  Před 4 lety

      It could have blown a fuse or It could have been a fualty part. personally if I was in your position, I would change the fuse. buy another restrictor and see what happens then. I might not be correct but thats what I would try.
