Look at all those truck series wins Hornaday, Sprague, Skinner and Todd Bodine won 🏆. They were excellent in that series but cup was way beyond their level. Even Steve Kinser tried cup cars and realized he wasn’t cut out for it

Sherri gave up on her battle with cancer and quit treatment.
She broke Up With Him
My ex wife battled cancer 15 years that we were together. In the end she had made all the plans on her own unbeknownst to anyone and she disappeared because she didn't want to be a burden on anyone. I didn't know she passed away until a sheriff officer called me one day to notify me of it along with a letter of why she did what she did. So maybe Sherry did sorta the same thing.

They have spotters people! If she was in the way, the spotter would have told her to move over! She should have done a year in the trucks (at Least) Then stayed in Nationwide until she won consistently! It's not her fault she was rushed into cup!

I kinda liked Danica when she raced both in Indy Car and NASCAR. I know she wasn't the best driver, but I like her personality.

She had poles, top 10 finishes and led laps in both Xfinity and Cup. (143 laps led total.)
In Cup alone, 6 top ten finishes, pole at Daytona 500, led 127 laps under green at Daytona, and finished 8th.
By leading laps in the Daytona 500, Patrick joined an elite club of only 14 drivers to have led both the Daytona 500 and the Indianapolis 500.
Patrick’s eighth-place finish in the Daytona 500 (2013), coupled with her six top-10 finishes in the Indianapolis 500, make her one of only 17 drivers to have top-10 results in each race.
In her last year in Xfinity, she finished a record-setting 10th in the season-ending point standings. She won the pole at Daytona, had 4 top 10 finishes and led six of 33 races, including a season-high 20 laps on the road course at Montreal.

I don't care for any of the three drivers she listed. I will say the criticism of martin in regards to sherry seems very inappropriate. We all hope not to have to face the challenges that they endured. I wouldn't form an opinion

Truex is a weirdo. Knew him when we raced in NJ. Many people close to Sherry have come out and said negative things about his handling of things at the end.

I have never talked to her in person but she seems to be really sharp and quick thinking. I don't think you could sneak anything by her.

I'm not a Truex fan but I haven't heard many say he drives like an ass. I feel like she just has a personal grudge and is letting that bias her with him on track. Joey I hear a lot of the same -- along the lines of mostly clean but a pain in the ass. He doesn't give you anything. But for Denny and Martin, Danica's criticisms were kind of weak and kind of what you expect from a mid to back runner. "Drives to close to you when passing...doesn't leave a lot of room for error..."
I don't think front runners would make those criticisms, but in fairness to Danica she was not a terrible cup driver like a lot of the gatekeeping comments suggest. She gets more hate than she deserves
I think she was responding to the question of who raced her tough during certain experiences more than making overall assessments on them. (I recall her getting bumped quite a bit in some races.)

In all honesty Hamlin had Homestead won the last year it was there performance wise but his crew had a bad pit stop late and cost him!

My first experience of hearing Danica speak her mind was at Vegas when she was in the Nationwide series. It was her rookie years and my only trip to there. The hype of her entering stock car from Indy had me put her frequency in my scanner. She didn’t disappoint! She had a potty mouthed drunken sailor vocabulary.
No one liked racing her ……she actually was treated far better than I thought she deserved considering she’s with a pack of wolves and not got nipped at a few times . She was far more aggressive than her talent level .
Have met Denny several times ……he was awesome, respectful and appreciative every time.

Not a Denny Hamlin fan...at all, but in his defense if he isnt pushing as hard as he does, he's not winning 53 races at NASCAR's highest level like he has. If you're gonna push as hard as he does and not leave room for error, you are gonna piss alot of people off and hurt alot of feelings, but you're also gonna win alot of races!!
I liked Danica since she was in Indycar. I have changed my opinion since she came out sounding like a QaNut. I bought her wine and my wife bought other products from her. We will spend our money somewhere else. She is right about Joey.
I loved her spirit as a racer. She doesn't get the credit she deserves. She's right about getting roughed up on occasion. But she was always temperamental.
Like you, her off track personna wasn't for me. The conspiratorial and fringe content. That must be why she was once with Aaron. I had to stop following her on IG because of how crazy it became.
Speaking of wine, she's sure aging well. Captivating.
@@c2jones My buddy met her when she was running formula cars in England when she was 16yo and was her biggest supporter. He has also stopped following her because of the conspiracy theories. He thought she was a smarter business person than promoting her crazy theories on social media. He sees her often as they are both golfers and live nearby each other. He thinks she may need an intervention to fix her. He doesn't care what political party she is in. He just wants her to get help from the craziness.

Excellent post with great insights. I had been familiar with her since her days with Toyota Atlantic and could sense that she would have good opportunities.
She's mellowed quite a bit now and is of course still physically attractive, but yeah, the types of guests that she brought onto her podcasts were way out there and I couldn't bear to watch what was happening to her. I don't know what kind of intervention your buddy references, but I sure hope that she outgrows all this.

Its odd that (from the interviews i've actually heard) most drivers say Kyle is one of the fairest guys out there. She was never one of my favorite people much less a NASCAR driver. Then what she said about MTJ when Sherry died really made me dispise her. It was none of her business and neither Martin or Sherry's family needed to hear that stuff when they'd just lost her. Danica couldn't keep her mouth shut though. MTJ and Sherry were pure class. Danica thinks very highly of herself but she has no class. She's always whined and blamed everyone else. Not a good representative of female drivers in NASCAR. Same in Indy car.

Hmm, I may be biased towards Truex and I know he can get a bit whiny but lapped cars need to move out of the way. Hamlin and Logano I agree because they’ve had their share of scuffles with other drivers and each other (fighting a few years back).

I really like her candor and i generally agree with what she says.
She wasn't good in nascar, never got a feel for the car or the style of driving the series required, and she has publicly admitted as much.
I find her to be very honest and im glad she's found peace with her career as a whole.
She was actually pretty competitive in indycar, especially on the ovals.

@c2jones I honestly didn't know anything about her xfinity record. I just knew she didn't ever feel comfortable in the cup car or the cup garage either as she has said a much publicly on several occasions.
The girl can drive though, and anyone who says otherwise isn't really being honest.

Most successful drivers are selfish. They only care about them, their team, and they want to win. They don’t look to make friends with their competitors. Doesn’t mean they don’t respect their competitors, but not looking to make friends with them.

Martin Truex did not express his sorrow really to the media at the track, I think he paid tribute having her name on the car but I don’t know for sure, but just because he didn’t doesn’t mean he wasn’t hurting and torn up inside. I’m definitely not going to assume he wasn’t. I’m not going to assume how he treated her at the end either.

There were 39 other drivers that hated racing with her on the track. She was always crashing into everyone or anything. Same thing in INDYCAR.
I think this is the only time we will agree with Danica, because Jenny is just winning more and if we don’t stop him by 2024, he could win a championship
Denny and Joey will always have that lightning rod to them: Denny for his present actions, Joey for his past. But to be fair, if MOST drivers who have run in with Logano have since been on much better terms with him, so a much better person compared to the "dirty" driver most talk about.Much dirtier drivers out there before and since. Denny is now reveling the role of Joey: ALL cheers and boos are still attention and he LOVES it. Cause be real: drivers don't feel as bad as you think if you don't like em. You're not the car manufacturer, car sponsor, or car owner, or racing series... if you were they, then they'd have to play by your rules. Martin I kind of agree on except the Shelly situation. We don't know enough of his private convos with his ex to know why he was how he was or did as he did, we dunno his own way of dealing with grief whether right or wrong. Heck, that same frustration he took out at Richmond MAY have some of that embedded and it came to head. (shrugs). Granted I'm not a Danica fan per se and I don't agree with all she says, but as said, she's entitled to it.

Danica was a race car driver, BUT, Danica wasn't a racer.

I disagree. Part of the reason people don’t like Danica is that she acted like a racer.
She had poles, top 10 finishes and led laps in both Xfinity and Cup. (143 laps led total.)
In Cup alone, 6 top ten finishes, pole at Daytona 500, led 127 laps under green at Daytona, and finished 8th.
By leading laps in the Daytona 500, Patrick joined an elite club of only 14 drivers to have led both the Daytona 500 and the Indianapolis 500.
Patrick’s eighth-place finish in the Daytona 500 (2013), coupled with her six top-10 finishes in the Indianapolis 500, make her one of only 17 drivers to have top-10 results in each race.
In her last year in Xfinity, she finished a record-setting 10th in the season-ending point standings. She won the pole at Daytona, had 4 top 10 finishes and led six of 33 races, including a season-high 20 laps on the road course at Montreal.
