@@dbendele If that's your takeaway from reading my comment then you totally can't comprehend reality -- what is actually written vs what you wish it said. Again, Exodus 21 absolutely and clearly and plainly says you can own other humans as your property, and even says how badly you can whip/beat them! You can't apologize that away by saying they were servants with bad teeth (indentures) or old-testament crap doesn't apply anymore. If you don't believe what I say, just google "does the bible condone slavery?"
@@bnotyet3236 exodus is about God freeing people from slavery and then goes on to make laws limiting slavery in that day. This was extremely progressive for its day. You judge based on today’s thinking after centuries of cultural progress based upon what was started in exodus. So yes you missed the point of the whole book by looking at a few verses.
@@dbendele I missed the point??? There is nothing in the new testament that says you can ignore the old testament. It clearly was ok with your "moral" gawd then AND now to won humans as property. Your "cultural progress is both bologna and baloney ... you're basically saying modern humans can cherry pick and/or re-interpret what the plain reading says. AKA cafeteria catholics ...
