I just finished watching it. As a longtime Wimpy Kid fan, for 13 years to be exact, this movie was everything that I could have hoped for! I felt like I was 10 years old again, and I'm about to turn 24 next week! Plus, there were many Easter eggs that I caught that were in many of the other books in the series! This is a movie that I will rewatch multiple times. 10/10

If the wimpy kid series was such a good story that they are already on their second reboot of it, why didn’t they just continue the original? Like he could have gone to college which would have been absolutely an amazing movie(s) although I didn’t read the books, im guessing that him going to college would be something entirely different from what they explored in them, but it would have been totally worth it.

I think there are around 3 summer vacations. And on early book (around 4th), Greg started new school year. He should be already on the third year on newest book.

“For those of us who never grew up” kinda hits hard, the kids in this new generation will never know the nostalgia of the other movies and they will grow up with this one.
Ehhhh, I was never a fan of the live action movies, especially after the changed actors after the 3rd one. At least this adaptation stays truer to the books.
And this movie will just turn into their nostalgia. That's just how generations work

I just love the kinds of CGI films that translate 2D to 3D, like Captain Underpants, Peanuts, Smurfs: Lost Village and even Sponge on the Run.
Another reason why I'm looking forward to seeing this movie.
I remember wishing for an animated *2D* movie, but then I remembered this is from Disney.
The original live-action cast will always hold a special place in my heart.

I've learned a good trick, thankfully. If you don't like how they made the characters actually have realistic skin colors. Just turn your TV to black-and-white. It looks so much better.

I mean it's not the worst decision they could've made but it clashes with the cartoony look of the characters too much in my eyes. It's creepy in a way they definitely didn't intend.

The movie is definitely fun and great animations. I love the Halloween scene, but overall the movie could have been longer and expanded. I’d give this a 6.5/10

This book brought joy to my life. When i was still in elementary school or middle school i sorta hated reading, but my teacher said i can try to read one of her books and she gave me a Diary of a Wimpy Kid book so i can read. I think the one she gave me was Rodrick Rules. At first i did NOT want to do anything about it but when i started reading it, i got TOTTALY hooked. My teacher had the whole collection and everyday she would give me 1 of the books so i can read. But when i graduated and entered high school, i was sad, because i could no longer read the series. Teacher Rose, if you are reading this, thank you for bringing joy to my life because of a book series. I love the series and thank you. I graduated already and now i have a job. Without you i wouldn't have these memories in my head. Thank you.

I'll say this bright as day. Donuts are a work of art. They're like the second best thing to sliced bread. Not to mention donuts comes in different shape of form as well. It’s so crazy how obsessed I was when these books 1st came out when I was in elementary school and now I’m seeing it come to fruition on the big screen as an animated feature film. I’m so proud of Greg Heffley. Day one fan here.

SO MUCH NOSTALGIA
For a 58 minute runtime, they managed to do it well. And it's also not a copy-paste of the original, quite a bit of new stuff thrown into this movie. It was a really good film!
