Wow, well said! ❤ And I would add, you can feel quite a gap of depth between the two. Trevor is much more insightful and has some insights to share, he's not just a showman.
lmao ellen tried so hard to make it an emotional and serious interview and trevor was just not having, which is understandable since he always gets the same questions. like he said, you find joy and humor in a tough situation
I love Ellen but when she started to talk about how bad i must have been for him and he just said no it was not she looked so distressed because the interview was not going her way so funny hahaha
Yup. Never make assumptions about people. Just assume you know nothing 😂 srsly, everytime you talk to someone, suspend your opinion, everything you've heard or read, until after the exchange & you can reevaluate your opinion & experiences. If you do have personal experiences relevant to the topic, listen, share, then listen again. Hopefully the other person will be keeping an open mind as well & both will have something new & enlightening to take away from the discussion.
not really as i said i really like ellen but she is the one making assumptions and everything saying that she had an "idea" is nothing more than covering up her false statements and thats why its so funny she was so absolutley distressed by the fact that 90% of the things she said were wrong and i find that funny nothing more nothing less have a good day :D
I laughed about that too. I had this experience the other day, we talked to a patient with psoriasis and since the lecture was basically about people with chronic diseases having depressions, the doctor tried to talk him into being sad and he was just like... Nah, not that bad, bad things happen, that's the way it is, I'm totally fine and she got so stressed
well tribal warfare isn't desolating south Africa now is it? it's the fact the majority of the wealth is not owned by the average south African citizen. This can be said with most African countries I wish tribal warfare was the actual only problem.
f :) I will as soon as I get some free time. Don't worry about stupid YT comments dude. Don't call be a neckbeard cause I don't have one. If you want to put me down write something like: fat idiot or procrastinating bigot slob :). That way you could at the same time hurt my feelings with the truth and maybe motivate me to get back to sports and off YT. Have a good day
I love how he's honest about not struggling. A lot of people want to struggle just to have a story to tell and seem more interesting but he's totally honest.
Lol that's so true, I was born and raised in a refugee camp and I wasn't aware of it (being a refugee camp), until I came to the western world. I've always thought my childhood was "normal"
Same here. I lived in a refugee camp in my teenage years (in a hut in a desert with a 100 degree ferenheit weather, no electricity, full of snakes and scorpions) and now i've been living in America for the past 8 years, and strangely enough, my happiest years were when i was living in that harsh desert. Maybe it's because i was young and life was so simple that i have fond memories of those days but i find it strange because i didn't have any material posession then, now i have a job, car, some money, and yet still living in the past. Life is really absurd.
+Theodore Harris yep Charlize. real S.A. she referenced her roots proudly on Oscar night, you'd speak in an American accent after living there so long!
I like how you handled that Trevor. Every time the world thinks about South Africa they want to bring up "adversity" and poverty. It's important that people who get to be on an "international stage" ESP if they are South African, that they present the fact that there is way more to South Africa than "hardship". Sure benefactors of the Apartheid regime in SA are way richer than the victims of it (on average by about 85%), but this not what makes South Africa.
I love how Ellen was determined to get a sob story out of Noah, but he insisted on making light of his context through humour. I think this demonstrates the differences between American and South African comedy, as well as the kind of people both nations produce. Also, I think it was pretty funny how Ellen desperately worked in a reference to herself being a comedian, when she's more accurately described as a television host -- something which Trevor Noah probably noticed, yet was to polite to comment on.
myfav0s2012 Cliché non the less.lt's making excuses like this that makes it go unnoticed for people to continue talking like this to Africans. For your own information, that's the typical question many an African has to answer should they decide to stand out in one way or the other outside the definition of poverty the sad "fly on a hungry dirty child TV" adverts peddled by businesses that call themselves Charity organizations .lts so codependent really. We get that in universities,in any careers that set us apart from the media cliché of Africa and that has to be challenged. The African continent is the second largest continent in the world.lt has been in existence long enough for people to stop justifying greeting Africans with poverty stories. A talk show host has a greater responsiblity to her audience. If Americans had to deal with being judged by their history with slavery , treatment of native Americans and how it must be hard living with that in their national conscience they wouldn't be so dismissive to African clichés
Lol I didn't even know we had an accent in South Africa until a few months back(and I'm 19🙈) but now I realise I was stupid, every nation(don't know if that's the right word) has an accent
Yeah lol. They prolly had taps though. He's from one of the privileged provinces of SA and my mom and dad (and thus me) are from one of the poorer ones and during Apartheid, when they were young (they're in their mid 50s now), they at least had 1 tap per street. SA is apparently one of the richest (or well of, rather) countries in Africa. Even during Apartheid things were ayt. So yah.. just my two cents there lol.
What a great guy, instead of playing the victom he sees his childhood as fun. I think that is why he has become who he is. He has not let his passed stop him, bravo.
lol, Ellen why are you trying to force Noah to say he had a hard time growing up? Typical Americans, trying to conjure something up that doesn't exsit just for television.
Trev, there are so many sad things that happened in South Africa, things that we all still mourn for. But there is so much beauty in our country, so much that makes our country truly great (despite the politicians) i hope that one day you can spread that message, I hope that one day we can make you proud to say, you are South African.

I can't get enough of watching Trevor. He's by far my favourite comedian (mom thinks I'm obsessed.) It's mainly because his material is more relatable. It would be pretty amazing if he had shows in other Southern African countries..
I live in South-Afrika and grew up during apartheid.I am white do me and my family had it easy but my mom always cared for black people and a police officer broke her leg because she was protecting a black woman.
+Kelly Damon I know right, she was pushing hard for the sob story he tells in his stand up routines of his dad being across the road waving as they couldn't live together and his mum having to pretend he wasn't her son as he was too light - but no, it was awesome, he loved it, best upbringing ever......whatever trevor. Still think he's brilliant though.
I thought she was just being her generous self, trying to encourage him to feel free to be himself. He chose his focus for that interview. He evolves. So does Ellen. Both awesome. Being a celeb isn't always all it's cracked up to be. I think they both deserve a lot of respect!
+allewis86 He loved it because, he attended a private school in Johannesburg a school better than most US public schools, he certainly was not that poor or disadvantaged from age 13 onward. I'm South African and I love my country - I just don't like the people who currently run it very much. To all intents and purposes, I am "white" but my grandfather was Italian and my grandmother was coloured. My grandparents lived in a big house in an okay suburb but my grandmother never ventured out much so I didn't, as a second generation mixed family member, experience what Trevor did however, he's is doing a brilliant job of bridging the gap and huge respect to that! I love him, first saw him in Cape Town, years ago and since then I and my family are the greatest fans. Going to see him in London on Saturday 19May 2018 as a Xmas present from my family - Can't wait!,
I love how Trevor just smoothly stops privileged people on their tracks when they romanticize poverty

He changed too much
I have no more good feelings for him
I love Ellen but when she started to talk about how bad i must have been for him and he just said no it was not she looked so distressed because the interview was not going her way so funny hahaha

you can tell how humble he really is by watching this video and I love that
Such a positive attitude. I love it.
Ellen was expecting for something like" I had to walk 10km to get a bottle of water " but Noah is clever and wise
