@@amandas838 I am hung up on the fact that I did not offer him more love and affection in the last years. I tried to fix things many times and somehow they never got better. I blame myself for closing myself off. I didn't leave because I hated him but because we had become cold and sometimes mean to each other. I regret not having shown him more love in the last part of our relationship as I know he needed it. By leaving, I believed I would give him the change to meet someone who will understand him better. It's a decision that has hurt both of us however, I am trying to make a good decision for the future. Even though we've separated before and got back together trying to fix things, we still ended up repeating history all over again. We didn't feel close, like one, in the last years of our relationship and that didn't feel right for me. Sadly, we weren't able to fix that. Thank you for listening :x

I like to imagine the meaning of this song being about a soldier who fought in a war, and he's visiting the graves of the people he fought with, AND the people he killed. The first verse is the soldier speaking to the grave, and the second is the dead man who he shot responding from the other side. Following that, the soldier makes his way to a church, where he runs into a man who was clearly important to whatever war was fought. He wears a suit and tie, and he's old. "Hello, how are you? It's so typical to talk about myself I'm sorry. I hope that you're well. The both of us are running out of time" (as in, both of them are aging and regretting what they did in the war). Then, in the fourth repetition of the verse, you see them looking out over a massive field of graves, and the old man falls to his knees at the sheer weight of the lives he ended by pushing the launch button. Other soldiers watch from the outskirts, and the chorus in the back rises from the graves. The regret and sadness wells up in every heart, dead or alive.
