    When doing heatless curls you have to cover your hard work with a silk cap, believe me it makes a hugh difference.

      Also need damp hair, and you won't pull your hair out when putting them in. I have the HARDEST time trying to twist and roll my hair. That's why the mesh curlers are my most favorite. Simply clip and pull. Works so well on shorter hair that doesn't cooperate with rollers.

      You should wear a silk or satin bonnet to bed anyway because it's good for your hair. And it doesn't matter what your race is or what kind of hair you have. I've been wearing one for over a week and I've been noticing a difference in my hair where it doesn't break as much and it's a lot smoother and softer. And I will never go to bed without one ever again.

    I bought the pink sponge over night curlers with the wires in them!! I'm absolutely loving them. I live in a nursing home and I feel much more comfortable with myself when I look better. It was your video that encouraged me to buy to them. Thank you so much for your video!!!

    I think the mistake you made was also in brushing out the curls. Coming from someone with curly hair we know to never brush curls when ur hair is dry. Maybe separate them one by one and also put a moose or curl cream in your hair while wet so that when it dries it stays a bit more. Hope this helps

      I braid my hair before I go to bed at night and I only comb the underneath part because that's the part that gets Tangled the most and I don't comb the top part because I want to keep the waves and if I comb them out it'll be very frizzy

    I love flexi rods for doing vintage hair, i definitely recommend avoiding the really skinny ones, and generally you get the best result using one size all over your head. You get really springy curl so you gotta keep brushing!

    Great video. I was chuckling though. Brought up many, many memories of sleeping on tin can rollers and brush rollers for many years. Yup, I’m 76, grew up in the Peter, Paul, and Mary era with curly hair AND I still like my long hair but I dislike the frizzy look. I just like my thick hair long with loose curls. I’ll definitely try the robe curl method but I’ve wondered about the others. So thanks for saving me time, money, and grief.

    This video somehow popped to my feed, liked it very much..! But, I have some tips to consider, I have used different sort of curlers for a long time and liked doing so. The Flexi Rods are my favourite. I use 20-30 rods for my fine hair (and little bit smaller rods, for my hair those big purple rods are too big and the curl falls out fast), and you need to think about how your hair will come out when you are rolling them.
    I found it helpful to study how hairdressers do perm rolls! Thinner sections and little bit more organised style. It takes longer but looks much better! Also, consider not brushing..! In the morning : I take a rod out and divide that hair section to two and gently twirl them with fingers to the direction they curl better/look nicer overall. When all are taken out, I bend over and fluff only my roots, maybe give my head little shake and done!

    For flexi rods I usually tie my hair in a ponytail on top of my head and then wrap my hair around them, that way I can sleep more comfortably. They turn out really pretty in the morning, especially after I touch up the front sections with some heat.

I bought a cheaper version of the black rope curler @ tj Maxx and I threw it away because it was made of velvet and my daughters hair clung and got knotted up while I was using it! It did come with a nice spray bottle and some scrunchies, a claw clip and a couple of hair clips. So tonight I went back to her bathrobe tie!😀 it was a easier to use without any hassles.😊

    I was so excited to try Spoolies after seeing a variation of them on Mrs. Maisel. they take FOREVER to put in and you can only use a tiny section of hair or they will pop out. so you need multiple packs to cover your entire head. SO uncomfortable to sleep in, they start to unravel, and then take FOREVER to remove! I also lost so much hair in the spoolies. wish I had never bought them!

    Oh and when rolling, if you don't want the flat top with just bottom curls, don't roll from the bottom, twist around. And you lose up to 100 strands of hair a day depending on your type so its not surprising all of that was on your leg. It's normal.

    @shadowman1158 Před 4 měsíci +1

    First thanks for doing this . I had no idea what would work best for my thin super fine hair. Watching your tutorial allowed me to choose two different curler sets that worked perfectly for
    My hair! Two questions, Are you using a silk bonnet or hair wrap scarf while sleeping? I use the Bobby pin method and it would pull hair, bobby pins would slide out out while sleeping . Once I stared covering my head while sleeping no more issues. Secondly, specifically with the purple and pink curlers; must you have you hair freshly washed each use? Or as most heatless curlers you just need hair a little damp. Thank you 🎉🎉

    • @SJ-le2vc
      @SJ-le2vc Před měsícem

      Technically your hair doesn't have to be wet. Esp the tighter you do the hair, it'll last okay with dry hair. Damp-ish hair tho will make it last much longer. Dry will result in "softer" curls while damp will be a bit tighter curls.

    • @SJ-le2vc
      @SJ-le2vc Před měsícem

      If your hair is that straight, there's a good chance you're going to have to use a staying product or the curls will fall right out in a couple hours. That's the hair I had as a kid and I'd even sleep in the old fashioned curlers with damp hair and they'd still fall out within 45 mins-2 hours. My hair just didn't want to curl. Now, my hair is starting to be naturally wavy, so it's holding waves better, but it's long and heavy so the curls still get pulled out faster than I'd like - even with product.
      The only time my curls ever lasted was for prom and we used a curling iron and almost 2 cans of hair spray. For shoulder length hair.
      Oh, I guess once in my late 20s or early 30s, I also use a ton of hairspray and a flat iron and they lasted okay for a few days, but my hair was much shorter (also shoulder length) and thus not as heavy. I tried curling mine a couple days ago and my hair is almost to my waist, and the heft of the hair itself pulled all the curl out quickly.
      Just a FYI - some hair just doesn't do it without a LOT of help.

    I'm still trying to figure out flexi rods. if I wrap my hair around, it's really cute but it's also a lot more effort to get it to stay than if I were to just roll. I did find out though that if I roll my hair and really position them into rows on my head instead of the crown method, I end up with really tight curls with lots of volume

    😧 My response to your last effort in this video. That was terrible! All that hair that came out. Thanks so much for going to all this trouble to show us the different outcomes. I think I’ve done four out of five of these but my hair is the longest it’s ever been now. Re-watching.

      That was not that much hair. The American Academy of Dermatology states that it’s normal to shed between 50 and 100 hairs per day. Other sources state a larger range - in a 2009 review, researchers concluded that anywhere from 10 to 250 hairs is a fairly normal estimate for daily shedding.

    Quick question - how long does the curl last? An hour, a couple hrs, half a day, a day?

    I love the heartless curls. I just cut my hair to shoulder length and I’m having a hard time finding something that works for that length. Could you try all the methods on shoulder length hair?

      I would recommend robe curls! I have a video on CZcams that explain how to do it. Should work for your hair. May have to use something thin like a scarf ❤

    On behalf of the last test (Curlformers knockoff) I wanted to let people know some tips. 1)It gets a lot faster to do in a short amount of time. 2)I have tried both the name brand and the knockoff and much prefer the name brand. The reason is speed. With the knockoff it takes more time because they aren't open at the end. When putting 30 or so in your hair this matters. 2)A silk cap is a must have. The looser the cap around the hair the better for sleep comfort because it's easier to get them to lay flatter in a comfortable position. 3) Are they the most comfortable rollers to sleep in, no, but I got used to it quickly and the benefit of the curl result makes it worth it to me.

      Are the original Curlformers (that long spiral thing where hair is inserted) better for the hair (no hair loss).
      Another commenter said that she thought that she used them incorrectly.

      The last one, the reason you lost so much hair and had so much trouble is because you needed to face the opening of the wand the other way. I cant remember which is it but you gotta face it either up or down to get it to easily slide in._

    I do have a question...why did you put oil in your hair before you out the curlers in your hair? Is it necessary to do to get hair ro curl?
    Thanks...

    As someone with natural curly hair who has tried most of these the last specially you shouldnt do them with dry hair wet your hair 1st add curling products like a leave in cream and then you can pull throw with ease. They take me less than 15m to put all 20 in my hair and i have alot of hair its also something you learn to do better the more you actually do them. Once you learn to do it properly you dont lose hair ive honestly never seen people do their curly hair dry like this. Everyone i know at least sprays it with water or something to let them dry over night or during the day also never seen plp brush the curls out this much i would separate them but not brush them cuz than your taking the curl shapes they did out in the 1st place we know u dont brush curly hair it will make it puffy. But I understand that her hair type can be done. I like how they all looked on her to be honest i was even surprised they shapes cuz she only added oil not keep it wet or more dampened.
