A Super RARE 1965 Kay Swingmaster Guitar with the really cool Barney Kessell Pickups that sound great, Its all original but the missing logo we replaced!! This Kay 2 inch Thinline guitar is in great shape as is the original Softshell case...all original parts...Its unbelievable!! ... Great frets still after these years! ....Whoa....check those pics!!
The Kay Swingmaster guitars were made starting in 1959. They all had the Kelvinator Headstock until 1965. After that the Headstock and logos were change. This 1965 was missing the raised metal Kay Logo. We were able to find a raised logo and thought the guitar looks a little naked without the logo... Thats the only replaced part on this super rare Kay Guitar!
This guitar was in really dirty shape when I got it but all the parts were there...We cleaned it up.. A lot …. and found this fantastic shape guitar under the grime....check out the original Sunburst finish ...just some minor dings and scratches..this guitar is in great shape....I had Jeff the Tech go over this one completely...with his Pro Setup and new strings, it has easy playing low low action...It is a pleasure to play...The neck is super fast and comfortable.... Check out that Pickguard..you never find these still intact.. Couple that with the cool Vintage Original case, you have quite the guitar outfit here.....
The specs on this guitar are as follows…
    15 1/2 inch wide body, 2 inchs wide….
Nut is 111/16 inches with a standard Kay 25 ¾ inch scale neck!
    Barney Kessell Single Coil Pickups…
The guitar has a Rock hard Maple neck and beautiful Curly Maple lamanated top, back and sides. Various dings and such but no real damage or cracks. The top couple of fret areas has had a lot of play. Some finger divots but they certainly do not affect the play of this awesome guitar.
The Barney Kessell pickups sounds great. Blues Guys love them. Dark and Greasy!! The high end Grover Tuners are still here and operating as they should. Original Tailpiece and bridge..Whoa..what a time capsule!
Now this guitar is uber cool but old and vintage so sold as-is no returns .. However, I have been hand picking my customers guitars for over 20 years now and they all love the instruments I found them ..this cool Kay will certainly not be an exception!
Thanks for checking out our cool guitars...

the pickups are p90s with kay designed covers but wound with thinner wire and are hot around the 11-12k range. i have a custom kraft speed demon with the exact electronics & pickups setup. these pickups sound amazing for cleans and take fuzz extremely well.

Amazing sounding guitar! Did you know the readings for both pickups? 11.5k neck? 11.8k bridge?
