I had a pair of their made in NY boots in waxed suede as well and it definitely had some QC issues but nothing major. I ended up selling them just cause I have narrow feet and I got the wrong size. I definitely want to try the brand again, their moc toes seem like a better value Alden.
Glad to see this review. Parkhurst is one of the best made and best fitting boots in the market. Value far exceeds the price point. I own two pairs of the Niagara and Andrew was excellent at walking me through the whole process. Excellent boot, great company.

Hey Will, how would you compare these new Parkhurst Allen boots to the Grant Stone Diesel in terms of construction, quality, detailing, etc? Would you say they're on par with the value that Grant Stone offers, or slightly below? I have an Allen boot from Parkhurst back when they were being made by Alex in New York. I like the look of the boot, but I did find there was some quality issues. I still wear them, so the issues obviously weren't that bad. But overall, I would say for the NY ones at least, they were way below Grant Stone quality. But these new ones, at least in pictures look to be on par. As for sizing, I can't speak for the last they're using on these Spanish made ones now, but mine (NY one) was a tad smaller than I expected. I sized down, and I got a bit of tight fit, mind you it's loosened over the years. But personally, I would probably go brannock size with Parkhurst. I'd rather go slightly roomy, then squished toes. That's just my two cents.
To me QC is better on the made in Spain. I had two of the older New York made pairs. Honestly, the made in Spain ones I had stitching, clicking, seem on par with Grant Stone. I have a pair of handlasted Oak Street's that put all but one of my Grant Stones to shame. Sometimes makers just outdo themselves. I haven't worn the newer moc toe last. The size on my new Allen's 602M (Made in Spain), the Norwegian Elk(Moose) I took at a half size down. It's better than the old made in USA in the ball but I would still prefer for work and hiking to have gone TTS. It's the correct size for the leather though. I may have to use an insole with TTS in that leather/size combo, but keep in mind my foot is a C in volume. If I were to buy one in a firm leather I would go TTS. Especially given your experience. The Norwegian Elk is quite a bit softer and more like CF Stead's Kudu. Just like with Grant Stone you have more wiggle room in sizing with a firmer leather by how they last the boots. As for which one to choose? Whichever last appeals to you more. Grant Stone boots are all about heel locking. Parkhurst's new lasts are similar. C in the heel, D in the waist, E in the ball area. That veg tan heel is an upgrade from the old Parkhurst's too. Parkhurst's 602M do have a fully gussetted tongue, while Grant Stone's Diesel does not. They cut the tongue right at the beginning. I personally prefer a gussetted tongue that the Parkhurst's offer but you may or may not.
I really wanted to buy a Parkhurst, but couldn’t find one in my size 11.5 E for a year, so I had to buy Allen Edmonds. I don’t mind to pay and then wait a few months, like I did with my White’s. But not being able to buy a product at all is really annoying
The Niagara is a tank. If you already have an Indy you should get the Niagara. I have the Edward and I don’t love it. A dressier boot should have a flat welt IMO.
Trying to work on sizing a pair of the exact boots and am between Brannock and .5 below Brannock. How much toe room do you have in your pair? I have about 1.5in to the end of the boot in my brannock size, which feels like a lot. But my pinky toe feels squashed in the .5 below Brannock.
If you don't mind the chonky look, call Franks, they'll do a custom boot, but the risk is no refunds on a custom one off build...consult first it just might work

In the image where you show the 4 "similar" boots next to each other, I would like to know how their sizes match or differ. Especially if the Truman is really one or half size less than the Thursday.
I had an American made pair of Parkhurst Allens, they were wonky AF. The stitching was meh and when looking down on them you could see that the one wasn't lasted straight (the whole boot was of center). I ended up selling them for like 100 bucks on Mercari.
He had no choice. The factory he used called him one day and said “we’re closing, that’s it.” And there’s no other US factories that can make that quality (the ones that do are run by the brand itself, I.e Truman, JK, Whites, etc)
@@BootSpy I wonder how all these boot factories got their start? Oh yeah, one boot at a time. Another option would have been to buy the factory, which obviously carried tremendous risk. But plain and simple, excuses are like A$$holes and we know what that means. If it’s possible for so many brands to manufacture boots and shoes in America in that price range, it’s possible for Andrew as well. I had been in direct contact with Andrew several years ago to work with him on making wide width boots. Nothing ever came of it so I spent my money elsewhere. Remember, competing with foreign made shoes happens in a WAY bigger arena than competing with American made shoes. Let’s hope Andrew doesn’t lose his business in the long term due to choices made for the short term.
Most of the American shoe maker brands are now owned by huge international corporations. So there is that... So, even though the boots are still made in the USA the profits go overseas. As to quality, there is a BIG world outside of the US. The Spanish workers are no worse than American. And in this particular case, all of the reviewers agree that the manufacturing quality has actually improved since moving the production to Spain. As for me, I will spend my hard earned money where I can get my money's worth. That's whatt all of our "most patriotic" politicians do anyway. Guess where the MAGA hats are made?😉

Absolutely love my two pairs of Parkhurst boots! I've got an older pair in dark chocolate kudu, and a pair in dark burgundy double shot.

Just received my pair in Oak Rambler. I also went true to size and think they fit great as well. I feel it's better to size up to avoid crammed toes.
Same, if I pick them up ever again it will be TTS. I took a half size down but it cramps my toes. It's wearable for a date night but not for work.

The Niagara is a tank. If you already have an Indy you should get the Niagara. I have the Edward and I don’t love it. A dressier boot should have a flat welt IMO.
