- 4th September 2023. Starting at a lay-by halfway along the Talybont reservoir, we make our way upwards towards Twyn Du and Carn Pica, with the shepherds and their dogs moving the sheep to lower ground. It was then onwards to the highest point of the day, Waun Rudd 769mts, before moving on and turning towards The Wellington Bomber Memorial below the ridge of Waun Rudd. After a short stay, we made our way up sheep tracks to the ridge above and headed along Cwar y Gigfran to the Cairn at Gwalciau’r Cwm. We then carried on along the ridge to the path downward over Allt Lwyd and back to our start point.
Could walk these trails forever and not get bored. A fantastic walk there - the weather was on your side. I imagine you got back down buzzing and well satisfied. All the best for 2024. Mark

Amazing video thanks for sharing , I love this area of the Eastern central beacons , much quieter and more wild than the Pen y Fan area. This is a decent length walk and climb , well done. Amazing views and crisp camera footage! Enjoyed the journey along the edges!
I’m hoping to walk Gwalciau’r Cwm and Carn Pica tomorrow from the Talybont waterfalls. I have a channel also walking in the Brecon Beacons area. Best wishes
