But just a few decades ago, Qatar was actually one of the poorest countries in the world. So how did it transform practically overnight? To understand, you have to go back to the beginning. Sorry the audio is a bit off in this video - hopefully it's not too distracting. And by the way, because I'm sure this will come up in comments: There are different ways to pronounce "Qatar." In the local language it's pronounced to more or less rhyme with "gutter" with a rolled R. The way I pronounce it in this video is accepted as one of the Anglicized pronunciations. (Just as we don't pronounce France as "FRAWNS" when we speak English, even though that's how you'd pronounce it in French.)

Ah thanks for your patience! We should be getting back to a more regular publishing schedule soon. And yes, we can't pretend that international travel is all rainbows and unicorns these days. A lot of things can go wrong, and you have to be adaptable. Thanks for letting us show that side of things as well.

Thanks for watching! The trip definitely got off to a rocky start, but I'm grateful we were still able to make the most of it. Seriously, the concierge team at FS Doha saved the day because the girls were SO bummed that everything we had planned didn't work out!

Me too! It's one of those countries most people aren't that familiar with, so I was grateful we had this opportunity to learn more about the culture and history.
We had actually quarantined at the Bentley hotel too!! Our room had couple of instant coffee, tea, water and when we ran out of them I would call the front desk and they would bring out more! I agree tho with the towel part!
Wow you got 5-star service compared to us lol. Literally no one ever picked up. We even had a hard time leaving the quarantine because we couldn’t reach anyone to let us out lol
I love how you are teaching your beautiful girls to be open minded to different tastes of food while teaching them all different cultures ❤ You don't just show them the malls and hotels while traveling, you teach them the history of the places that you travel to! Parenting done right guys!❤

Qatari here , I really liked your video and how you talked about our history. I just think you visited at the wrong time because of the covid restrictions. Our country has a lot to offer. On the two days you were quarantined you could have went to the sand dunes and sealine. Was wondering if you visited musheirb it is next to souq waqif

u were really unlucky for the quarantine i stayed in bentley for 2 days for 700 qar which is 190usd for 2 days and it was the exact same size for my family of 3. the apartment was good for us . hope u arent unlucky the next time u come to qatar
I am sorry that Doha was a let down. Doing 22 different cities across the world is a big challenge. I figured covid restrictions would limit some things sooner or later. Sorry it happened so soon in the series.

Many of us as expats here fear to say any negativity about the country because we’d just be told to leave if we don’t like it here 😅 all countries have their positives and negatives, goes the same for Qatar. But so far it has offered me one of the best lifestyles than any other countries I’ve lived in 😊
