I disagree with how his mother felt and blaming him since he is following exactly what he said to find your own sound not become some copy paste.
Honestly, this is one of the worst takes i have seen in year, to the point where i would hurt you. If you want to preserve your parents legacy do it yourself dont force others to do it. If you are incapable to do it on your own the accept it and move on acting like other should sacrifice their own for your dream is just so infuriating

I wouldn't say it was more smooth, u think matsugoros style allowed for more complex techniques to be played. Setsus was louder but that only allowed him to play certain techniques.
Setsu's sound was a lot more bold and playful, he's a younger guy so it wouldn't be too far fetched for him to have this kind of sound, if anything I'd prefer if he boldly paved his own path in his own sound instead of someone else's
