Live Burn Training - Rural House Fire Training - Volunteer Firefighter Education - C2FR

Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue receives several applications each year from homeowners looking to donate the demolition of their homes to fire and rescue training. These donations need to meet certain criteria for an optimum training experience, such as safety for firefighters as well as other homes surrounding the site.
This particular live burn offers additional opportunity for a look at what it takes to train and gain new exposure for both rookie and seasoned firefighters alike. Among the topics covered are: fuel loads in the home, what the role of the Exposure Crew and the Rapid Intervention Team is, fire attack techniques, as well as the use of tendered shuttles in remote locations. Join us for a detailed examination of what takes place during live burn training of a fully involved house fire.
