Ben Curtis "The Dell Dude" Loses His Work and His Way

In the early 2000s, Ben Curtis was training to be a serious actor at NYU, but one commercial audition for Dell computers completely changed the trajectory of his life and career. He became the face of the computer company, performing in 26 national commercials over the span of about four years.
In this excerpt from our conversation, Ben shares with us the lessons he learned from reaching a level of fame that he never imagined, but also talks about how it led him down some dark paths that took him years to resolve and come out of.

I talked to him on Facebook sometimes. He's doing okay. It's sad what happened to him. But I'm glad he recovered and is doing okay now.

But nowadays marijuana is legal in most States. I don't understand why he can't make it on the Internet or any other thing nowadays. What I don't understand about people is that everybody on this Earth has made a mistake or done something that supposed to. No one is perfect. I've made a mistake and went to prison and I'm out doing good. I'm not looking to become famous and popular but I do do private promotions for a popular syndicate radio show. I have a felony on my record but I do know with Ben Curtis situation he don't have a record but still people judge him. But like I said I don't know why it's hard for him to get an acting career or maybe on the radio or podcast when marijuana is legal in most States.
