Born and raised in London Ontario Canada myself. London has now put a nice mural of them both on Centennial Hall where the proposal happened.
If anyone wants to visit, the mural is on a wall at The Budweiser gardens(Dundas st.) , and proposal was at the old London Gardens (Ice House).

Why do you care? They were both entertainers. Entertainers are not known for their upstanding morality. Not to mention this happened decades and decades ago. They really were meant for each other.
