I was surprised that the cardboard tags actually look like they do now. I thought that Levi’s made their tags to look deliberately old-fashioned, but I’m surprised to see that they were identical in 1947.

Other than the leather patch, is the material quality still the same on vintage and modern jeans? I love how the featured pair looks exactly like some I bought this summer
Vintage jeans used in shrunk selvedge denim and other minor features that led to an arguably better garment. There are some modern reproductions that are good but not quite the like the originals.

Dumb question, r the rusty rivets inside the jeans ever a hazard
Not directly. They generally fairly smooth. But when moving the jeans around It would be wise to avoid the rivets catching the fabric.

Yeah, i haven’t been trained with gloves unfortunately. Often more damage can occur with the use of gloves because of improper use. Good news is that we didn’t have it out for very long. Don’t want that liability!! Haha
You should let some Japanese mills/brands take a look while they're still raw so they can better reproduce them. Do it for the culture

Lol. “The magic of television”. What isn’t shown is the giant ass box of foam and bubble wrap it was added to while in the store. Just needed a better way to carry it around than the Dillard’s bag the seller had it in 😱.
Shouldn't you be wearing gloves?
No, actually gloves can risky unless you wear them often because the wearer isn't as aware of the motion of their hands. The most important thing when handling old deadstock denim is making sure not to mishandle in such as way as to deform or tear the paper hangers. The cotton will be fine as long as you aren't eating chicken wings before handling.
