  • Hello friends! In today’s video, I wanted to show you how I made several of my own blouses BIGGER through alterations. I inserted fabric on the side of the blouse to make it bigger. I went on vacation and I noticed that several of my blouses were too small beforehand, so I added the material through alterations. I hope that you are able to pick up useful skills in this video. If you find this video useful or entertaining, please don’t forget to like, comment, share, and subscribe! Your support means the world to me!

You are so talented. I have a couple of blouses that I need to make bigger, but I have been afraid to touch them because I didn't want to ruin them. You are inspiring me to try. You are very sweet. I enjoy your channel very much!!

My wife and I love watching your upsizing shows because, after the Covin mess, we need so much of our clothes to be upsized~! And each of your pieces gives different ideas we can... For the lack of a better term... We can 'steal' them to make our retirement wardrobe able to be worn again... Thank you for sharing...

Thank you for this! I have a lovely shirt, about 9yrs old now but I've been unable to fasten it for the past 4yrs or so. After I watched your video I took it from the back of my wardrobe so see if I could make it fit. It's a fine chiffon-type fabric with a pattern, adding extra at the sides would be difficult and probably beyond my skill level. But I noticed it had a folded hem vertically down the back as a design feature - Aha! So I unpicked it and it gave me around 2" more width so I can now fasten it! Thank you, had I not watched this video I would not have even thought of examining the shirt to make changes. Now what other shirts do I have to re-model... :)

You’re so clever. My thrift store donation box was full but you’ve inspired me to go through it again and alter the things I thought would never fit me again. Could you show us how to do the same thing with skirts? I’ve gone through your old videos but I don’t remember seeing anything like that. Thanks again for all you do. ❤

Love the ideas! I’m short, short-waisted, and chesty, so I’m forever avoiding woven tops unless it’s a button-down I sew closed to eliminate gapping, so this gave me some great ideas.

You motivate me to get it done. Yes I have winter blouses from a few winters ago when we were renovating. I was a lot thinner because I was active. None of those blouses fit me now. Winter is coming at some point. I want to be ready. I keep everything because I was born into a family that repurposed everything. You are so inspiring! Please make more videos like this one

Was very happy to find your video. So many DIY alterations are beyond the average sewer or focuses on making T-shirts into something. But you have given hope that I may have success enlarging blouses (mostly from shrinking in laundry, but also weight fluctuation). Your clear instruction, obvious talent, experience and patience are wonderfully helpful . Thank you so much!

You're so amazing at what you do. I love these videos. I have added fabric underneath the arms much like you have when I want to wear an old favorite garment. I have also taken in old thrifted sweaters at the same place when I would find a man's sweater that I liked. Honestly, I've been too nervous to take up sleeves and reuse the cuffs at the shorter length.

I often cannot resist thrifting the most gorgeous jackets, even though they are too small for my shape, but I think it would not be too difficult to use the sleeve material in the side seam to make them into vests or short sleeved jackets, also to add pockets.

On the gold blouse with pin tucks ( my opinion) to release some of them then add gussets on the under arm where the other material won’t be visible ! On the white one if you have enough material I would’ve added the cuff size like the original , right above the elbow, to me it would make the blouse look better ( my taste ) . I’m not crazy about gussets especially when you don’t have material like original, I’m altering a labcoat, adding gussets to make bigger , my customer wanted me to alter in the front where facing is , but to me it won’t look good thus the gussets! I tell my customers “ bigger is better “
