    You don’t have to take the bottom three screws off. Just the two on top and the 4 attached to the cluster itself.

    • @Motorcarnut
      @Motorcarnut  Před 2 lety

      The top piece of the column bezel has to come off so yes the 3 screws on the bottom half of the bezel have to be removed but the bottom bezel itself doesn’t.

    • @Sour_Dizzzle
      @Sour_Dizzzle Před 2 lety

      @@Motorcarnut I work on clusters every day, top piece of the bezel actually isn’t attached by screws. It just pops up on it’s own. Really the only ones that require the bottom screws are most older Nissans. But do more then you need to if it suits you,

    • @Motorcarnut
      @Motorcarnut  Před 2 lety +3

      Sir, this is the way it’s done on this particular vehicle unless you do it sloppy and rip the rubber trim piece. What do you think those 3 screws screw go into?? The top bezel! Which needs to be removed as stated. Also, if you do them every day why are you watching my video?

    • @Sour_Dizzzle
      @Sour_Dizzzle Před 2 lety

      @@Motorcarnut the three screws are not attached. Trust me. We do hundreds a day. Just pop the top bezel up. Remove the two 7mm screws on the top. And it just all pops out bezel and cluster cover. Don’t got to rip anything it comes out in one piece. You can do it how you like but you’re doing extra. I work for a company that pulls 100’s a day ranging from early 2000’s to 21’s to convert from kmph to mph. You 100% are doing extra work on those 10-14 f150’s.

    • @Randyw1111
      @Randyw1111 Před 2 lety +7

      I do thousands per day. You don’t need to loosen any screws anywhere. Just grab on to the leather piece and rip it out.

    On mine, the Fuel Gauge, Oil Pressure, and Temp needles are not lighting up. Makes it very difficult to monitor my instruments at night. Is there a good way to check the LEDs / replace the LEDs that light the needles? I want to try and avoid replacing the whole cluster ($700 part)

      @@Motorcarnut So the "fix" would require a new instrument cluster? How can I swap the odometer data so everything else remains the same? When I contacted my Ford dealer, they said they would have to order the part from Ford with a specific Odometer input before they even received it.

    • @Motorcarnut
      @Motorcarnut  Před rokem

      You could look the the same year make and model used cluster online like eBay and have the mileage reprogrammed also online legally.

    • @nattynopro6967
      @nattynopro6967 Před rokem

      @@Motorcarnut Sorry for the million questions. Who does the reprogramming? My dealer said they couldn't reprogram and it would have to be done prior to shipping the part. Wonder how I get it reprogrammed if I buy off ebay.

    • @Motorcarnut
      @Motorcarnut  Před rokem

      That I’m not sure, that’s what others told me before, but you have to be careful when it comes to anything involving the odometer replacement because records have to be kept and done by law. Best to go with dealer recommendation.

      We just swapped out the bad cluster with a reman one from Ford and now won't start. Put the old one back in and still wont start. Both clusters are now showing "Anti theft" light. Tried resetting the anti theft but wont reset. Not sure what to do. Tow to dealer?

    • @Motorcarnut
      @Motorcarnut  Před rokem

      Should start, I mean I have vehicles start with no cluster installed. What codes are coming up, what year?? Try putting in the old cluster and disconnect the battery first for about an hour after clearing and codes, make sure the ring around the key is not disconnected and try a different known good key and see if it starts. It should.

    The lights are soldered to the board on this gen F150 so it has to be sent off to have that done. Several are dead in my cluster so I came to this video looking for the way to remove the cluster so I can ship it off to have the lights all replaced.

      Where did you send it to? My fuel, pressure, and temp instruments have burnt out needle light. All gages are working properly, but the lights on those 4 instruments being out makes it very difficult to monitor at night. I'd like to repair rather than replace the whole cluster ($700).
