Honestly that first game felt more like a first-person Witcher game.
I've been doing a playthrough with the first person mod and its a completely different game.

They probably haven't written a line of code for it yet, I doubt it will be anywhere near that realistic. That was totally rendered. It's so annoying when they do this. I get they have to show it to investors but come onnnn
@@phlack1001 It's not bad. They've been making updates to that mod since the last platform update, you have to install a crapload of files and they keep adding more. Combat is not anywhere near as good as 3rd person, imo, but you can switch back and forth either manually or auto. You'll have to watch a how-to and have an hour with a clear mind to get it right. Also it's titled Gerald (or something close) not Geralt. took me a while to figure that out.
Video game trailers should have game play in them, along with the HUD, otherwise it is just a anime.

NOTHING will be like skyrim. Im sure not even the new elder scrolls game will be as good just because of bethesdas track record lately. Skyrim will always be one of a kind the GOAT
Most of the devs who made it don't even exist or is no longer with Bethesda anymore.
Beyond Skyrim will be my ES6 (if it ever releases), or Skyblivion which has confirmed release date next year (hope Bethesda don't throw tantrum over this and sent cease & desist)
The Wayward Realms is made by the guys that worked on the ES series, so that should be promising.

If the game doesn't have an open source resource kit, isn't offline-playable, or mod-friendly ... then it'll just stay at being like 30-40% of what Skyrim is.

You say that almost as if it's not a good thing. I've been waiting for 18 damn years for an official or unofficial successor that takes up the game principle and setting and implements it in a worthy manner.

@@giolighter8588 Don't get me wrong, I really like open-world games. But every now and then I prefer a good (A)RPG with with a smaller but more detailed world and a more cinematic plot. Dark Messiah worked so well because you could immerse yourself in the world, but not lose yourself in it and in countless side quests or in "just taking a quick look at what's over the next hill". World size and narrative density don't always go together so well and open worlds are often very generic.
That's why I would like to have titles for _both_ on offer.

I'm looking forward to Fable
I saw maybe 2 games that had Skyrim like environments but none that seemed like Skyrim. And I swear devs absolutely have to STOP putting uninteresting music over top of pre-alpha 'gameplay footage' and calling it a trailer.
These games look amazing, but the only thing most have in common with Skyrim is the setting. I love Skyrim because I can play it with an older video card (GTX 1660) and the plethora of mods that add new content and quests keep it fresh and looking damn good for it's age.
I think Bethesda's delay says a lot about them not being able to surpass their OG game. At least they're enabling some of these genius mod authors to make some money for their work now.
Skyrim is far from Bethesda's OG game. It is the 5th in the Elder Scrolls series, not counting spin-offs like Redguard.

@@TroySavary Skyrim has sold more copies than all of Bethesda's games before or after. It sold 3.5 million copies on the day of it's release and has gone on to sell 60 million copies as of 2023 according to Tod Howard head of Bethesda Game Studio. Which puts Skyrim in the top 10 video games in sales of all time. Skyrim has outsold ALL of Bethesda's fallout series combined and it isn't even close. If you take say an average price of $45 (it's been on sale cheap several times) then factor in the DLC sales that still comes out to 2.7 BILLION dollars in sales give or take a few 10's of millions.

Be dead of old age before we see the next elder scrolls if all they have to show is that single cutscene released what a year or more ago, when other games probably have been in the making in the same time are showing actual gameplay.
that cut scene was from 2018 iirc. so yea, dead of old age for sure.

EVEN IF it came in 2027 it won't be playable until 2029 at best (with at least 2 years of patches/bug fixes/mods etc to make it playable like skyrim...).
Early access release in 2025, real release in 2150.

KCD 2 and Fable are on my watch list. hope fable gives that original feel of the og fable games

If Alkahest is like it looks here, without hud and with all that control over environment and weapon... and Ai that seems to work realistically... DAMN that looks intense!

I was wondering how long I would have to wait until we started to see the P2W selections...Night Crows is DEFINITELY one of those.
lol 1st one was the best one. Pretty much proves my long held statement that the gaming industry is dying because they REFUSE to prioritize gameplay over graphics. They WILL die on that hill even though Minecraft is the most high populated game at the moment and something crazy like 300 million+ players. These games look pretty but they play mechanically AWFUL. They will fail. Alkahest is by far the best because of the animations and what you can do. It plays like the Witcher 3 and Dark Messiah Might and Magic had a baby. LOVE it. I normally don't care for weeb games but Night Crow ACTUALLY looks good and has the pretty neat esthetic. Its niche but it works.Ill probably try that one too. If that Gothic 1 trailer is actual gameplay then I would put it at a nice 2nd place behind Alkahest. For 3rd MAYBE Vindictus/Night Crow, the rest of these either have no gameplay or have terrible pacing and animations.

Wayward Realms is TESII:Daggerfall 2.0. This game won't be like Skyrim, because it will be the real RPG
My skyrim modded already looks like Ashes of Creation and a few of these games.
The first game is like Dark Messiah of Might & Magic lol Only the graphics is better :D

My biggest question is, considering the engines used, will these be moddable? If there's one thing we've learned from Skyrim (and other games, like Factorio) is that easily moddable games do tend to be more successful. The developers can't think of everything...so that's where mods come in. We're still playing Skyrim because of mods.

There is only 1 of these games that holds my attention and that would be the wayward realms just the thought of getting to play a game like daggerfall again almost makes me salivate.
Greedfall2 looks like a Two Worlds 2 Reboot.
Except Avowed none of this game would be like Skyrim. Though thanks for mentionning Titan Quest 2.

Conan Exile довели бы до конца, сделали бы экономику нормально, а то производимых ресурсов девать некуда, зато есть строительство, то чего нет в Skyrim. Еще была неизбежная "чистка", когда по прошествию действий игрока, приходила атага, которая разбирала все нажитое)). Было интересно. Показанные стрелялки быстро надоедают, хождения по данжам, хочется чего то другого...неизвестного, какого то надвигающегося бума и НЕИЗБЕЖНОГО! Неизвестность порождает мотивацию в игре.

° Dragonkin (10:30) is no Skyrim-like but rather Hack'n Slash Diablo-like (isometric perspective).
° Dragon Age: the Veilguard (13:59) should be more of a Dragon Age-like (not 1st person medieval fantasy RPG)
° Night Crows (24:58) is a 3rd person ARPG so nothing like Skyrim (but the medieval fantasy global setting), as well as Soulframe
° Greedfall 2 (32:24) is a 3rd person RPG so nothing like Skyrim (not even the setting - america's colonization)
° Titan Quest 2 (35:15) should be like the first opus, a CRPG so nothing like Skyrim (not even the setting - mythological/antique)
° Vindictus: Defying Fate (37:48) is a 3rd person ARPG so nothing like Skyrim (but the medieval fantasy global setting)

None of these game look like skyrim. Skyrim was probably one of Bethesda best games i hated rpgs till that game released. now rpgs are my favourite genre. I been playing it 13 years.

I liked skyrim but I found the combat unsatisfying. Sometimes it's fun but then I'll come across a human who can take claymore swings to the head without a helmet even, like terminator just tink tink tink and repeat over and over. That's a lazy design, I hate when games do that. And if I lower the difficulty it becomes TOO easy. They also took away so much magic. I love the atmosphere but it could be so much better.
