There are strict laws in place to protect child actors in the entertainment industry. But that hasn’t stopped producers and directors from exploiting children in horror films and inappropriately suggestive movies. We’ll be showing you some of the films where actresses were way too young for the scenes they were performing, from Brooke Shields in “Pretty Baby” to Dominique Swain in “Lolita.” You’ll be shocked to see these controversial films that were made for adults, but used young girls in the provocative roles. This is: 10 Child Stars Who Were Too Young For Their Roles.
When “The Exorcist” was released in 1973, moviegoers were creeped out by the scenes that involved child actress Linda Blair. Blair played the role of a girl who was possessed by vicious entities, and some believed the subject matter was too mature for an actress as young as she was. Another horror film that was greeted with controversy was “Let the Right One” starring Lina Leandersson. You’ll have to watch our video to find out why people were up in arms about Leandersson’s role in this movie.
Before appearing in “Black Swan,” Natalie Portman was playing the role of a child assassin in “Léon: The Professional.” People were extremely upset by her character’s relationship with a much older man in the film. If you want to hear more about this cringeworthy movie, make sure to tune in!

That is because he was a little boy and he didn't understand and he thought that it was a comedy movie
Seriously !! How do you know that ??
People: I hate when older actors play younger characters
Casting directors: *cast actors that are the accurate age*
People: OH NO THE CHILDREN!!
Right tho?
Exactly
They had forgot about why movie ratings is made for a reason.
Right shiii I thought I was the Only one
In Little Evil, the one that played the kindergartener that was turning 6, was 10 in real life.

If you wear a tight-fitting body suit, you can see every curve, lump, and more. That's probably why people complain.
Ikr wtf
Lol 😂
True in these days
I hate how all the young actors that got this backlash were females. In my mind it seems like if it would have been a man in those scenes no one would have cared.
It's not just a really sexist society but also quite ageist,
Boku no Pico is a prime example that society doesn't give a shit about males.
Feminist Much? 😂😂😂😂😂
There is I remember a NSFW (like really not PG-13/R crap) example.
@@dynamicsentertainment1673 A movie? Or a TV show? Also, there's lolicon on porbhub now.
So basically there can't be "creepy" acting roles for someone under 18. Seriously? You do realize there are a ton of rules to keep minors safe on set and a lot of editing to make scenes "darker" for audiences.
And yet Jodie Foster for Taxi Driver isn't on here, or Helen Hunt in Desperate Lives
They're so safe on set yet so many children in Hollywood are getting preyed on and raped
Noah E you have a very Naive view of Hollywood. Have you not heard what Elijah Wood, Corey Feldman and a few other celebrities have said about pedophilic behavior and sexual abuse in the industry??
Sorry but you need to do some research.
Noah E one name for you Harvey Weinstein. You have to be living under a rock to have not heard of all the allegations against him.
Alana Robertson Children being preyed on by perverts on set isn’t what he’s talking about. What he’s really talking about, since you don’t have the reading comprehension to figure it out, is how underaged children are protected from viewing all the horror aspects of the movie that is being filmed. For example the child actor that stared in The Shining thought he was filming a boring family movie when in reality he was filming a horror movie.
Wait hit girls outfit was too "revealing" she's completely covered up?!? Even her hands 😅
Yet she was still objectified by tons of people.
Objectifying a 13-year-old covered from head to toes? Hope you live in Middle East or you really need to stay away from these people...
That's going to happen in any case, there are so many sicko's out there, that's on them, not her costume.
Imani Broadway it wasn't even that tight
Ivanneth Suyin maybe they were referring to the schoolgirl outfit where she was holding a gun? just a guess.
Okay, I have issues with you describing 'Lolita' as "the story of a man who fell in love with his stepdaughter". The book makes it plain that Humbert Humphrey was a sexual predator who married his wife solely to have access to her daughter. And while I haven't seen either movie, no matter how the material is portrayed, it's a story about sexual abuse, not a love story.
Astrin Ymris And the sad part is it’s based of a real story of girl name Sally. She was sold and have much worst life. I read the article somewhere and saw it.
Um, Astrin, No, please re-read Nabakov's novel, and rewatch the early and the 70s movie adaptation. If this is about sexual predation, Humbert was suicidal from the beginning, which makes a plot nobody would watch. This is an insight, a comment, on human fallibility, recognition of responsibility and of victimization (read/watch the 70s movie until you GET IT, where IT is the irony) and redemption. Responsibility did win out with Humbert. If you had some balls or ovaries, you'd have recognized your humanity, and learned something from this. Sad for all of us you did not. This story is NOT erotica. It's painful, and ultimately only painful.
@@davidk7544 I had seen it as well. It looked like he had a tragic childhood, because of the girl that was in his life had died at a young age.
I remembered that scene, and it looked like he had developed a sexual relationship with his step daughter.
Exactly. in the book Humbert is an unreliable narrator. It’s told from his point of view and on the surface it reads like one long excuse for why he had no choice, he wasn’t a monster, etc., but Nabokov is very careful to make the holes in Humbert’s story clear. Anyone with good reading skills can tell that the book is about a sexual predator trying to convince himself that he’s not a monster. The real point of the novel is how far people will go to excuse ourselves of the cruelties we commit. You can always tell the people who haven’t read the book carefully because they call it a love story or act like humbert is some tragic figure. in the book it’s very clear from the beginning that Dolores (Lolita) is a normal kid and humbert is reading into her behavior to excuse his own actions. The movies aren’t quite as good at planting those clues, and they don’t make the ending quite as clear, which is why it’s easier to feel like the movies are kind of complicit with humbert. It’s easier to mistake the movies for love stories because the subtext is, in my opinion, overly-subtle, while the book, by the end, leaves you certain that he’s an unredeemable monster.
Yup, pedophilia is a psychiatric disorder. This novel/movie wants to show what happens in a pedophile's mind. He doesn't perceive himself as a monster, his feelings are genuine from his point of view, but that doesn't mean it's right :) Also, you put a hypersexual lil girl in the equation and his actions suddenly seem a bit more justified. The story wants to make you analyze an unusual situation, to empathize with an unusual mind, to make you doubt and to keep a debate open. I can say, after all this years of controversy, Nabokov achieved his goal.
I think a lot of these movies mimic some horrifying real life issues. As long as these kids are not shown in a desirable or tantalizing way, then it might actually do more good than harm.
What people dont realise is that casting a younger character is meant to add to the effect the movie makers are trying to get across.
Dominika Dovicakova Exactly!
Renee Wright Sometimes a movie can send a great message and is very important. If the kids weren't mentally mature for the role, they wouldn't be casted.
I mean... isn’t the whole point of Lolita that it’s supposed to be creepy and wrong?
the movie was very romanticize if you compare it to the book in my opinion
The novel makes it clear that Humbert is unreliable and predator, but he doesn't see himself that way. He imagines that he is in love with Lolita but of course he is not.
Ash Lewis literally the whole point
No the movie does not romanticize it, it's just harder to show the actual story through the movie when it's supposed to only be from Humberts perspective so they can't show Lolitas thoughts or feelings only what he tells himself that they are. In the book there is room for more thoughts etc. to show just how twisted he really is. It would be pretty hard to make a movie like that without making it look like they're trying to romanticizie it I think, that's why it's so controversial.
maybe you just did not understand the movie well enough. the movie makers themselves explained many times that they were just trying to hit the right note - the story how Nabokov pictured it: to leave us wondering whether Lolita knew what she was doing or was she truly innocently unaware of everything; plus add Humbert and his point of view and his attempt to both justify things and to make them sound even worse because sometimes he thinks he imagined things, sometimes he thinks he did worse things and tells the story darker than it maybe was..You may feel as if the movie was too romanticized because it is harder to portray in movies psychological aspects as deep as Humbert had... The point was to leave us wondering, just like the book. There is no completely right or completely wrong side to it - only Nabokov could tell what was the actual truth and he decided the whole idea of the story was to be messed up and to twist our minds like Humbert's was, to get lost in all those deep emotions, intense superficial infatuation, thoughts, fears, lies, truth...The book is meant to set a sort of a drugged mood and that is how the movie was too.
The book was a lot darker though, I will give you that one! I just think they could not exactly film it darker than it was...
Some of the movies with controversial subject are trying to bring awareness to shit that actually happens. Yes adopted kids sometimes get used by their adopted parents, yes not all step parents a good people. And yes some children live on the street. Just because you don't like the content of something doesn't mean you can block these films for trying to bring awareness to real shit. Tbh this is almost like the red band society, the show was too sad because of it being about hospital kids so it was canceled. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean the movie or show isn't doing some good, doesn't mean that it isn't bringing light to a touch subject. These are things that need to be talked about not banned.
@Areiella Doreo Well put.
Exactly.
indeed 👏
I agree that these things need to be talked about. However, the outrage for these movies is simply because of the age of the actual actress. You want to find a young looking actress and have her play an uncomfortable role? That's absolutely fine. There are ways to display movies like this without taking advantage of children or putting them in comfortable situations. Just about every teen show now is played by adults pretending to be teens. It's not that hard to do.
I want to shed light on animal abuse. Im going to actually abuse animals in the film
Quite frankly, it should be up to the parents and the child star to decide if scenes are inappropriate. Not social justice warriors with an agenda. Sometimes, to get a point across, a movie or tv show will show something that some people will find offensive. The solution: DON'T WATCH IT!
Brooke Shields costar in Pretty Baby is a notorious lefty Susan Sarandon, if anything bad, like a long lingering pan shot down a full frontal naked 12year old would have happened she would've stopped it, or at least revelled in the career boost!!! LOL
lol all the "controversy" here was coming from puritanical conservatives. you're directing hate at the left when the probably is with the right.
@Tralala_Beez it’s acting yeah I agree that some parents are very crazy and only care about money but if they let their child be in the film then hey we can’t do anything about it
Then basically we can't have kids in horror movies?
Which I don't understand, because it is pretty different to be behind the scenes and watch the film, because behind the scene these children know that nothing is real. It all depends on the way the job is presented to them.
They should talk about ET and how the children were made to believe ET was a living being, and how heartbroken they were when ET left!
z1cke92 most of the Time Children dont even See a little thing from the Horror Set.
Typical Americans, they can't see anything scary or surprising effects or god forbid a bare nipple, that can traumatize American kids for life! But to see someone being cut in half with a machine gun, being run over by a car or get their head split open by an axe or a bullet, that's just fine family entertainment.
z1cke92 hi Wyatt
Arne-Inge Farstad No it isn't considered family entertainment here. They were just talking about violence being too much for kids. But what I don't understand is a lot of Europeans consider sexual suggestion in public normal, but kids get criticized for playing around with squirt guns.
The Professional merely showed a one-sided attraction. She was a child infatuated with her hero. None of his lines, even in deleted scenes, showed him taking advantage. If anything he awkwardly sidestepped her advances.
Thank you!
THIS
Exactly!
True!
Glad someone mentioned this.
Omg. Puritans and hypocrits. 1. The reality of children and teenagers IS NOT fluffy clouds, butterflies and ice-cream! They live in the same world as we do. And some live in a lot harsher and brutal environments than ppl who "cringe" at "foul language"!
2. Also reality: children ARE sexually exploited in the world and not by letting them wear superhero costume. BTW all the ppl who got outraged by that costume : your minds are dirty!
They are not mature if they think like that.
Quite frankly, I enjoyed all of these movies and I don't give a f**k what you all think of me ! May freedom of expression reign !

That's the main reason these child stars become superstar after performing these phenomenal roles.
Weirdo.
It's true, Jodie Foster & Helen Hunt did some of these too.
Jodie in Taxi Driver & Helen in Desperate Lives.
Angelina Jolie did many topless scenes in her early work like Hackers, Fox Fire and Gia.
That sucks and yep that's Hollywood.

And melted down many earlier as expected
Yes, and depressed. Depressed superstars.
This is sick, especially in Brooke Shields' case, I mean she was being sexually exploited while just a child, being shown nude in Playboy at age 10 as well as in Pretty Baby and Blue Lagoon.
Hang on. As well as being sexually exploited, does this mean she was sexualised as a child as well?!

Sometimes those "inappropriate" movies or roles are based in real life. These are somethings that happen, have happened, or could happen. They're supposed to tell a story. You can't censor real life, people need to know these things happen.
Karla Mejia
Perfectly said!
It's mainly parents worried their child possibly getting exposed towards something inappropriate at too early of an age. Then again, they could simply keep eye on what their child watches and just not show them these movies
@@Itsezyyyy__ Exactly.
That's right😢
Ofc you can't censor real life but these are movies being purposely made to entertain people. I don't think real life situations are entertaining though but a movie about those type of things? Oh ya it's fine 🤡.
Ummm...Lolita was based on the book that is considered the best novel of the 20th century....
"Lolita" is meant to be disturbing, for the simple fact that the narrator is a sexual predator but doesn't see himself as one. It's all about him justifying his actions and his supposed "love" for a young girl. The author was not condoning Humbert's actions; it was a study of how a predator sees the world.
you are wrong
Nailya Musayeva
Doesn't matter
being realistic and facing problems, actually discussing "taboo" topics does not mean you support such behaviours, it helps in educating people on such topics, accepting the truth, knowing the difference between the most stereotypical aspect known to everyone and all the other specific ones nobody knows about... Not being scared of being realistic is actually extremely important and does not mean you find the wrongs as morally acceptable things to do nor does it have anything to do with the media... You need to face the truth, talk about things that exist, accept that certain facts are true, because denying will not change the truth nor make you more morally right....
we all know this shit exists but we purposely avoid normalizing it and thats why people get mad when it is talked about in gross detail and conceptualized in different ways.....because it shouldnt be. it should remain as it is: a disgusting deviance from normal human behavior
Dakota Fanning made it pretty clear, when people asked her about her role in "Hound Dog": Acting in a scene is not in any way the same as being actually subjected to the abuses inflicted on the character. And in general... kids aren't as innocent, or as safe, as many adults want to think. There's a reason why a lot of kid's books are written by authors better known for horror stories (notably Roald Dahl, of Chocolate Factory fame) -- a lot of kids live in a very scary world.
No dodgy roles for boys???
Hmmm strange
Bet there's plenty. People just don't care about it.
Cole and Dylan Sprouse (Riverdale) in "The heart is deceitful above all things"... 🤮
that's the whole point of Lolita tho
lmao ikr? it's almost like vladimir nabokov intended his book that got adapted into movies several times to be creepy... /sarcasm off.
Deena Hdzz I thought the earlier version of Lolita with Peter Sellars et al was much creepier. She was basically trafficked in that film.
the old one is a satire tho, makes it seem like a joke, the 1997 actually shows the tragedy of the story theres many scenes of dolores crying and wanting to leave, its not much of that in the old one
Yeah they were more subtle back then. Didn't show the Gore etc. They weren't allowed I guess.
You're right, they weren't. Between 1934 and 1966 movies were regulated by the Hays Code, which was basically a list of the things that can't be shown on screen, and it was very strict. Since that version of Lolita came out in 1962, they weren't able to show anything remotely graphic, much less between a middle-aged man and a teenager.
Who ever said these movies should be watched by kids? And who are these critics and outraged people? Maybe they should just watch "tellytubbies" or something.
not sure they understand ..its acting....and theres nothing innapropriate on set...but then americans always blow evrything outa proportion...check out the ebola news feed from there and then around the world if ya dont believe me ...they love to hype everything up to the max
Nancy G-son Agreed.
Nancy G:son Tellytubbies weirded me out as a kid. It sure wasn't appropriate for me to see.
Nancy G:son hahaha
It’s not about kids watching them, it’s about the age of the actors. The horror movie stuff isn’t that bad in my opinion, but the sexual inappropriateness of some of them is creepy.
NEWSFLASH: teenagers swear and watch horror movies and get involved in sexual situations and get assaulted! I can tell you as someone who's been on sets as a kid, I can tell you that responsible parents will explain to their kids what's going on. Also, we understand a lot more than parents think. I'm a young teen and I wouldn't feels uncomfortable or scared filming any of these movies BECAUSE THEY ARE PRETEND. many of these stories need kids to portray the themes, including how messed up these things are. It is also common for child/teen actors to be much more mature than other kids our age. Trust us, we can handle it.
You've been on sets?
Lmao this video is such a joke
Just like Brooke's "outstanding beauty"

raine co i just subscribed
But if you're going to make a movie about teenagers and what they go through no matter how dark you going to have to use the teenagers to do it sometimes you have to step out of the box because sometimes the story needs to be told for others to learn from especially teenagers or young adults or even children, bad things happen in this world and if we going to tell story we have to tell the story The truthful way so that everyone can learn from it that's just my opinion
Vladime Young-Sang I so agree I thought Nikki Reed and Evan Rachel wood did a fantastic job with their roles in the movie thirteen I have it on DVD it's my favorite
America is getting outraged about kids playing a certain role in a movie/tv-series but it's totally fine having them shooting pink fluffy guns that are actually made to look like toys but are primarily made for killing??? What's up with you?
Also I will totally watch this Show 'copper' and I'm already sad it was canceled...
Yes!
Vladime Young-Sang I would have ended up exactly like the girls in thirteen if my parents didn't know what to look out for, I'm glad the movie starts out looking like it would be a fun time but just gets darker and darker and you second guess playing with fire by the end of it.
Vala Dina WELL PUT I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING
I think Leon is a great movie, and it only got so much negative attention because Natalie's performance is so convincing. It's also nice to see something good finally come out of Mathilda's tragic life after she meet Leon. The movie is really touching. She was right to accept the role. We should follow our passion despite what the society say.
❤
Actors older than characters = WOW. What an absurd!
Actors who actually has the age of their characters = WOW. What an absurd!
So, you want no teen characters at all?
ok but like lolita is supposed to expose child sex offenders.
actually, the child was cast as the protagonist in the original.
True enough, thanks for saying so. Considering the thumbnail accompanying the ad, I don't think that was the intention.

A lot of these movies would have failed if the characters had been played by older actresses. I believe we underestimate children. The list contains several of my all time favourite performances of child actresses. Natalie Portman, Brooke Shields, Dominique Swain are all awesome in these movies! Sadly, movies like this would be impossible to make now..
Kubrick’s version of Lolita is NOT a comedy. It was also banned from theatres in its day.
So Chloe Moretz was too young for Kick-Ass but not for Let Me In?

Omg shut up
Guess it must say something that I've seen all the movies on the list and in the comments, but none of the fast five, or mission implausible, or sausage fest comedies(?), or comic book series movies!
As a teenager myself, I think if was an actress, I would like to represent how it feels to be a teen and what we go through.
Why should we hide the fact the kids and teenagers also go through bad moments and have opinions? This has to be snown. And it has to be shown by those who are going through it. Not by elders.
@Juan Carlos Rivera yeah no shit it’s uncomfortable but if their swearing that is just real
This almost reminds me of a Philippine actress named Julia Montes. She was also very young when she portrays mature roles in her hit drama series. Julia can play married women/mother roles successfully at such a young age, which showcases her talent/acting skills and proves her versatility as an actress as well as made her popular.
Natalie Portman made her career,
White that movie she was incredible in that role and I'm glad she did it because it was good decision
Let the Right one was good, you obviously didn't see it. The grown man was once a boy who took care of her, and there was no inappropriate action
It was greatly implied that they were lovers. That's how she won the boys' loyalty. Eventually, she will replace them also once they get old.
Artur Dent I gotta see that I never saw it before
+allure searles I totally recommend it, it was frightening and we'll done. make sure to watch the foreign one not the American version, it's not as scary
She uses the boys to take care of her. There's only so much a 12 yr old "girl" can do by herself. Watch the original and you'll get it.
the book apparently mentioned they were in a sexual relationship thats why he helped her
I remember being 12 and 13 and I wasn't that innocent at that age at all. I love seeing young actors launch their career for their entire life through heavy, and difficult roles, I think that's talent and I think it really adds to the films on a level someone older playing a younger role wouldn't.
But haven't you heard, girls of twelve and thirteen don't have thoughts or feelings! You only get those at midnight on your birthday in whichever year that is in a state where you live!! Maybe growing and learning and discovering and becoming our authentic self would be easier without the hypocrisy, and if we could see realistic stories about authentic people experiencing our pressures and dilemmas!
missjoasia123 I was innocent at that age though
@@asheniza1168 not every 12 or 13 year old is innocent
@@keiraalexander455 I'm talking abt me specifically lmao. Ik that not every 12 year old is innocent. Some are, some aren't.
Doesn’t matter, you were still (and probably still are/were while writing this comment) a child with an underdeveloped brain. How “innocent” you are doesn’t matter…
I mean, why are people so offended by the truth? This is the fookin' truth of our gen believe it or not.
They know stuff they should'nt but its true.
life is not always sweet an child friendly, and neither are the movies that tell the storys. these movies were made to shock people and make them think.
Linda Blair was more traumatised by the press asking her deep theological questions after the film aired than filming itself. She said that she knew it was a work of fiction, which I'm sure most of the actors on this list knew when they were filming their works. Working on set is very different than seeing the film.
Call me Your Dai5y, it was very similar for Brooke Shields. People couldn't separate her from the role she played in "Pretty Baby". She knew she was acting and regards it as one of her best films. It's really a very sad story of a child growing up in a corrupted environment and she doesn't know anything else.
A literal question here - how does one measure personal traumatization? I will not (and I can't) judge you as wrong or right. I do, however, want to know how you do this.
Wow people getting getting so triggered that there was a show with a child "betrothed" to an older man but they for getting too things.
1)IT'S A DAMN SHOW IT'S NOT LIKE THEY'RE ACTUALLY TOGETHER!
2)IT TAKES PLACE IN A TIME PERIOD WHERE THAT IT WAS A NORMAL THING TO SEE A CHILD AND OLDER MEN TOGETHER!
What about Jodie Foster in taxi driver? She was only 13.
10) One of my favorite movies. The final script makes it clear Leon only sees her like a daughter. In the end she stops her hitman and goes back to school.
9) As a kid I aspired to be in a kid in creepy movies like the exorcist, orphan, etc. she doesn't seem upset by it.
8) Haven't seen it, so I can't judge.
7)Haven't seen it. But I don't think it's "inappropriate" for a thirteen year old to be dating a twelve year old.
6) Read number nine. People used to tell me that I could be a creepy kid in a horror movie. As an aspiring actress that was one of the biggest compliments you could give me.
5) Never seen, can't judge.
4) Role number 1, Read number 9. At age 8 I loved ghost stories. Role number 2, everything is covered in that costume.
3) never seen it, can't judge. But I don't think enough people acknowledge some teenagers go through it.
2) I agree with some of this one. The nudity was WAY to far. If the story had been about a child prostitute who is married only because the man cannot adopt her and treats her only as a daughter it would be fine.
1) How did I know this was gonna be number one? 1) She was fifteen when she got the role, BUT she was sixteen when they filmed. 2) They had a body double, the actors were required to keep a pillow between them during any rape scenes, and they had a lawyer present with them all times on set. 3) It's not a love story, it's a drama about a girl who is manipulated and sexually abused by her step dad, but it's told from HIS perspective. The author himself even said that it wasn't a romance. One of my favorite novels.
no dominique was 15 when they filmed she was like 17 or something when it got released cuz there was problems for years cuz it was so controversial
I love that you said this bc 1. Isn't a love story, the author writes that it's meant to make all of us want to make the world a safer place for future generations.
You should check out “13.” Excellent film.
so tired of everything needing to be "kid friendly" you want kid friendly, go watch disney or nickelodeon...
also all these things aren't that damaging to kids in comparison to the things they see on the news, youtube, video games lol.
@Maple Mapping they can be depending on the character's attire (specifically females) or gun shooting. Like little boys shouldn't play violent shooting games or games like GTA
Have you seen Bella Thorne's Pussy Mine video, or Cassie Nelson/Sensi Pearl? Yeah, Disney's good for kids!
How about we be honest with our children, and realistic. What if we taught that what truly is, without excessive details that would terrify them - what terrified us becoming adults, and give them the strength and knowledge to protect themselves. Censorship is NOT part of that equation, and it's important that it NOT be.

I just love the fact about how popular and famous all those famous Hollywood stars who have also portraying mature roles in controversial films that launches their respective careers and made them household names. A famous Filipino actress named Julia Montes is also very young when she portrays mature roles in her hit, iconic drama series such as Walang Hanggan, Ikaw Lamang, Doble Kara and Asintado until she gets older.
Natalie Portman looks like Millie Bobby Brown at a young age❤️❤️
Jamíe Boylan no
Chromberries シ Yee
Ye she does
Jamíe Boylan no
Jamíe Boylan
Not really, no.
I felt that too
Honestly though I love Lolita, because despite being insanely creepy and totally fucked up, it’s really poetic with its storytelling. not to mention the girl who played her was a great actress and handled the role amazing which helped get the movie’s point across even amazingly.
I felt sorry for Humbert Humphrey. For him to go through his childhood in a tradegy.
He felt lost and confused, until he feel like he found the one who he think that she loves him.
@@killertruth186 no. Omg. Why? Its a great movie and it is poetic but your comment is exactly the reason why people dont want movies like these being made. You completely misunderstood the film. Just goes to show the power of cinema. Its not the film that is creepy, its people who say stuff like "Until he found the one who he think that she loves him." Gross.
@@neburarieiv You can feel bad for the things he went through but not for what he had done. Which it can be the reason why people like him could lead to what they did.
The ending of the movie is ironic.
I am not into movies that normalize child exploitation
When you think of all the child actors who were molested or raped by people involved in the film industry, kind of makes me think some of these mature roles aren't a coincidence. Poor brooke shields, she was exploited from such a young age. She was shot naked for playboy at the age of ten and when she was 17 she wanted the pictures to stop circulating because she felt ashamed of them. She said later in life that she felt that her sexuality never belonged to her. Even if a child is chosen for a role for a certain effect in a movie, maybe we should consider that the well-being of the child is more important.
N
@OldSchool Sadly, there are kids all over the world who have been in the same situations because they were born to parents who had no common sense! Eva Ionesco was one, then there was a version of Pretty Baby in Italy and I'm sure there are worse than that which most of us don't (want to) see because the movies are categorized as, "Child Pornography" and are using children against their will everywhere. It's nothing new, unfortunately. The top item on my bucket list is to take down a pedophile! I worked with abused kids as a nurse and saw what adults who are sick can do to them. It's devastating and beyond heartbreaking. No child's innocence should be stolen ever!
When i was 13.... " Moooooom i'm done pooping!"
My ghod.
Bullshit. Linda Blair was absolutely praised for her role in the Exorcist, as she should have been. The more graphic scenes were done by Eileen Deitz. Do your research. Oh and the Exorcist still holds up and outdoes most of the movies today. One of the greatest movies ever made.

What about Dakota Fanning in Hounddog and Drew Barrymore in Poison Ivy?
Right? I'm shocked they put Lipstick on the list but not Hounddog
I'm just curious, how about every horror movie where they try to kill the kids like for example child's play? Or those where children are psychopatic cult killers like children of the corn? 🤔 these all were mostly "too sexual roles for children" and usually those scenes are filmed in the way kids don't even understand what it's about.
And in Thirteen the actors were teenagers so I think they already knew how cruel life can be for some people.
I was fully expecting to see Hound Dog. I've never seen the movie. I just read about it. I don't even want to watch it & I'm 46!
Pauliina Petrell or the film ‘the children’ the kids turn into serial killers 🙈
please note the fact that everything except the ghosts really happens to kids and teens; talking from personal experience and the people around me. I've heard some stories that are worse than this but they're actually real.
I believe Traci Lords deserves to be mentioned too. Although she performs flawless in most of her early films, her roles seem age inapropriate.
THIRTEEN was my favoriteeeeeeee movie 😝
I love that movie too :)
Veronica V same I’ve watched it so much with my older sister
I know right
Verónica Lodge
Thirteen is literally what kept me a good kid through school, because I didn’t want to end up like that
You do realize it's acting right? There are also many laws and precautions in place to make sure the actors and actresses are handled carefully and not put in bad situations. Maybe don't judge rolls some have taken and actually do your research!
Chloe Grace Moretz's answer to a reporter that asked if she was traumatized by the violence was, "ah, you realize it's a movie, right?"
Still the ones where the child is in a relationship with a old man is highly inappropriate
Now that ex child stars from nickolodian and Disney have come forward to talk about the horrors of child acting... all I have to say is your comment has aged like milk
Also they will use editing tricks
But they are children lol 😆 😂 🤣
Ok but lolita hit different and was so good but so creepy at the same time !!!
I enjoyed most of the films in this list. Then again, I grew up watching R rated movies like Robocop at like 8. I'll never understand why younger people feel that children are made of glass and easily broken, when in fact they are far more adaptable than adults.
Also, there were a number of inaccuracies in this video. Annie was 10 (not 12) in Copper, which was a great show. The movie was called "Let the Right One In" and the vampire was over 100 years old, so a relationship with a man wouldn't be inappropriate for him. In fact it was she taking advantage. Most importantly, the narrator suggests that the vampire had a physical relationship with the man, and then later the bow, when in fact they made it clear that she lacked genitalia of any kind.
I’m surprise that Jodie foster in taxi driver was nowhere to be found on this list, she was only 14 at the time of that movie. Though it is a great film, and I agree with what a couple of other commenters have said that you do usually need a teenager to play a teenager in a movie, I’m still surprised it wasn’t here given some of the other material on the list
Julian Stephenson Yes!! I was totally thinking this!! That movie had very adult content & her performance was so realistic!! Also I’m surprised Drew Barrymore wasn’t on here at all!! She was quite young, performing some pretty intense roles!! But then again, her real life was far more inappropriate than anything she was portraying onscreen!!
Julian Stephenson or Jodie in the little girl who lives down the lane
Love the Michael-Jackson- eating- Popcorn Meme 😂❤️❤️
Leonie1703 really?? That's sooo old and played out.
Snicker Doodle yes I know...its still old and played out
Amie SilentHill lol true
My d00d that’s a gif
5:57 my ears are cover, but... i can still "read" O_O
Lol.
It's funny how older people think that kids at the age of 12-18 are supposed to be like INNOCENT but that's the age of darkness, wildness, and getting a little taste of reality.
I don't think Isabelle Furhman's roll was all that bad. Kids are evil in real life anyways lol
LaTavia Washington so true 😂
Aren't you forgetting Blue Lagoon series?
Mirage Mirana and paper moon where ryan oneil gives permission for his young young daughter tatum to smoke in the film...
Ikr, I thought that’s what they were going to talk about when I saw her picture in the thumbnail.
Blue lagoon was between two kids...not an adult and a child...like Lolita or American beauty
Mishme Even so, they were doing those scenes in front of a lot of adults.
Vayeya
👍
My mum told me about Exorcist, and how she watched it before it was banned. She said it was too creepy, scarier than IT, Chucky etc. but I don’t think it was that scary
Lol The Exorcist isn't banned
what about Jena Malone in Bastard Out of Carolina!? Those molestation and abuse scenes killed me
When her Mom walked in and seen him raping her and left with him was heart breaking..
Omg, like what, do you want adult to play those roles meant for children. If Hit Girl, for example, was an adult it would not be the same.
Omg I love Orphan
Benny Is Weird Yesss same!
Benny Is Weird me too!!!
KtKawaii Penguin Me too.
buy M A N I A on itunes btw the plot twist tho
Me too
how many times see said ""inappropriate"?
And girl, I think this super badass when kids interpret those types of movies, they look so professional.
Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver was highly controversial
That's on their other list of the same topic
You should have included the 1995 movie called Kids on your list.
totally agree! i saw kids when i was 17 and it scared the crap out of me. ive never watched it again
MaloreeDerp yes I agree, also should have added Interview With A Vampire
I agree 100%
MaloreeDerp that movie was made, because that is how a lot of kids were at the time.
Krys Thomas “Why Interview With A Vampire”? Kirsten Dunst was brilliant in it and I’m a complete movie snob. She showed incredible maturity as she “aged” in the movie. What was inappropriate? The scenes that involved her being a vampire weren’t over the top in the least.
Only mentions young girls playing intense roles and not young guys... So... you're saying only young boys should play in R rated movies instead of girls?. Like, what about the young boy who was in "Let the Right One In" ? Was he more mature than her so its okay that HE was in it?. How about you guys rename this to "ACTRESSES too young to take manger roles" Cuz clearly you don't give a shit if a boy is too young to play in an R rated movie.
HU4L -I'm actual trash- Leo DiCaprio in Basketball Diaries... then there was a movie called Sleepers...
While there have been some movies about young boys being abused and exploited, you are correct that girls are often the focus of these types of films. One reason is that for many years, the sexual of abuse of young boys and males in general was vastly under-reported. This also rings true as to what is currently happening in the entertainment industry with the #metoo movement. It's mostly women coming forward but some men have as well. I think it's harder for males in a way because they face a greater stigma.
Leo was 19 not a child
They forgot that in “orphan” Esther drew her parents completely naked!!
If you're offended by a kid in a superhero costume, then you're extremely messed up.
What about Alicia Silverstone on THE CRUSH . She was only 14! :)
Katty vasquez paredes her role was 14 year old psycho but she's actually 16 or 17 while shooting the film and she used a body double in some sexy scene.
I appreciate the implication that anyone in their mid-forties wouldn't be watching -
'Back in 1973, which was probably way before you were born...'
Mmmm, really...
Or perhaps TheTalko thinks anyone 40+ wouldn't know how, or are just too senile, to use the internet.
Back on topic, I'm surprised Dakota Fanning wasn't on the list.
The internet is just for the kids!!!! We old people born before 2000 need to stick with network telly and the BBC...
Actually TheTalko is being ageist in a completely different way. They assume that the only people who view their content are between the ages of 12 and 20 (give or take). It completely doesn't occur to the content creators at ThePremium that anybody but their target demographic will click on their videos or articles.
To be fair I didn't, I just had autoplay on when I was washing the dishes!! ;o))
Get off my lawn
Right? I was born in 1976, that's not "way before I was born."
I'm really surprised by this line up...
Esp when there are movies out there like Jodi Foster in The Girl Who Lived Down The Lane..... Talk about twisted...
MaecyMFerguson yes I rememb that one
They must of missed that one. Pretty Baby and The Excorsist to me where the most exploited to me.
When minors work on sets of a horror movie or an inappropriate movie, they don’t get exposed to the terror stuff, they aren’t really told the story line of the movie, the directors will make sure that the minors will not be exposed to anything that is inappropriate for their age
Pretty baby was way more disturbing then they made it sound 😅
I'm a cat Meow I don't see how that movie contributed anything to make human existence more livable or explainable. They put her through all that for WHAT? I didn't feel like I learned anything about that period of time or even the topic of exploitation in general. It just seemed pointless, misguided.
due whit it’s just one of those movies you look back on and think, how did I manage to sit through that movie..
I'm a cat Meow I thought I'd warn you about this newer movie 'lamb' that's been out a couple years. It's about a sociopath who kidnaps an 11 year old girl who goes willingly but gets emotionally abused throughout the film. The film, oddly, is advertised as a bonding experience between this white collar creep and neglected child. I guess they are setting an emotional trap for people who have those expectations of bonding, which never happens. It's a nauseating piece of trash.
due whit thanks for the heads up! The movie you’re describing sounds familiar although I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen it.. *_*
Jellyfish hugs same they showed her off to men so men can take her virginity. And like... it was weird.
you guys totally forgot about Jodie Foster!!
And "Hounddog" with Dakota Fanning.
Mentioned on their last list of this topic
OH SORRY WE CAN PLUG ARE EARS BUT STILL SEE THE TEXT ABOUT WHAT UR SAYING ON THE SCREEN!!😒
Look away.
one of the films they had a problem with "let the right one in" was remade as "let me in" starring Chloe Moretz. Yet, they failed to connect those dots.
Thirteen was great , nothing shocking people just rather not see or talk about it ..
I don't what is too revealing about a superhero suit
Abi Abeti same people that think breast feeding is wrong. They can't help sexualising things.
A lot of these movies are really great movies simply BECAUSE of the acting of these kids.
In "Let the Right One In" there is ZERO suggestion of an inappropriate relationship.
The Vampire is shown in one very brief scene to not even have female parts so no possibility anyway.
Except people would complain and moan about being untrue to the character or some crap like that had they hired anyone older, besides children aren't as fragile as you all seem to think they are. They are abundant (I think that's the right word) and half the time stuck in their own world. Now, if the films had a negative effect on the child stars it would be different but it obviously didn't so just enjoy the movies
Are you kidding me? What about all the child stars who grow up to kill themselves or have addiction problems due to having been molested and raped by adults in hollywood? We need to stop letting kids be in weird creepy and sexual situations even if it's in a fucking movie
beenibaby did you not read the part where I mentioned that it is different if the movie had a negative effect on a child? Obviously molesting etc. Is entirely unacceptable and you would have to be an idiot to think otherwise
beenibaby these child stars most of the time never starred in "ceeepy" movies
most of the time, being molested or raped isn't written on the script and has nothing to do with the movie. It's just adults who are sick, kids could play in a movie for kids they still would have been molested/raped
beenibaby, those kids had problems that were not related to the subject matter of the films that they did; they either lacked a stable home life, were used for money, or were preyed in the industry, all of which was behind the scenes. Jodie Foster and Brooke Shields both appeared in controversial roles as children and both of them turned out fine. Most of Macaulay Culkin's films were family-oriented (except for "The Good Son") and he ended up with a lot of issues. That's because his father was abusive and he was the family breadwinner. Same with Lindsay Lohan and another tragic child star, Bobby Driscoll. Children working in the industry is acceptable as long as they are protected. Kids play sports and can be abused by coaches or teachers.
OMG I used to absolutely loooooveeeeee the movie 13. I was 13 when it came out and watched it nonstop. No bra, no panties. No bra, no panties.
Edit Name same. I related way too much to that film 😂
A lot of these movies look really good... is it just me who thinks that? Probably
This Is Me It’s not just you. I really recommend watching the movies Leon: The Professional, Kickass and Lolita(if you can stomach it) from this list. They aren’t at all bad
Those 3 are actually stunningly well acted female lead movies that literally created their careers. But its curious that young females empowered to explore within their sexuality within a role creates such hysteria and backlash. Lolita banned?! Because of a old guy in love with a very well developed female (did anyone see Dominique Swain's photoshoots promoting Lolita GQ cover etc.) or because 15 year old understands her sexual currency and uses it to manipulate him? Or is that a question the newly puritanical (again? and yet again?) USA can't discuss rationally?
@Russsel Lewis You're absolutely correct.
Half of this stuff is what kids really do anyway. The parents just don't know. When I was 12, the neighbors daughter was 12 . Let's just say she wanted to know what " play doctor" was like. Best nurse I ever had.
But if they would have chosen older people for the roles then they would have complained that they were to old and it just throws the whole movie off
Thirteen is not for young teenagers it's an 18 so if parents let their kids watch adult films that's on the them no one else. And the film was very real it was pretty much my teenage years and all my friends not something to be proud of but is a fact that some teenagers behave like that but parent would rather live in the land of denial and just blame movies music etc
I actually remember watching thirteen back when I was around 13, it was and is a really good movie! I remember being intrigued with the plot but also took all the things they did in the movie as a total cautionary tale. I think they got the point across well.
I (female 13) am a theater actress and even though film and theater are two different experiences, films are the safer place for children and minors to be portraying those roles. There are a lot more legal protections and policies for film than theater. For example: I recently did a play where I had to play and 18 year old with a 22 year old love interest who made me very uncomfortable. I kept trying to tell directors and fellow cast members and they told me I was overreacting and I should just "deal with it." (Except for my best friend Kate ) On the last night of our show, he sexually assaulted me, onstage. Nobody noticed except for the sound guy at the back of the theater (who I am friends with) and me. I had trouble keeping together and I still had to pull off the last 45 minutes of the show pretending I was in love with this creep. I was not legally protected nearly as much as I would be if it were a film. Movies also have doubles and precautions to keep them safe.
