Well, there are several reasons, they can’t. First, the story is based on novel serie and they adapted it all. There is no more written. Second, chinese government resented that he Untamed got So popular and put ban on creating another BL adaptations. China is very homophobic. The original novels do have actually s lot of BL content, even sexual, but because of cenzorship, the drama producers had to cut all these scenes out and make their relationship a bromance or brotherhood rather than lovers. They really managed to walk the fine line between not crossing the cenzor boundaries and still be able to convey the true feelings of the two main characters. But if you have withdrawal symptoms you can try to watch the donghua (animated version) or read the original books. They have been translated into english. The name is The Grandmaster of demonic cultivation 😁

Some of the comments seems quite sad that they don't interact on stage now. Both of them are doing well with each other privately. Mainly on the award ceremony they can't interact was due to them being too popular and targeted by other entertainment companies hence their only fans, some are being too aggressive, therefore they need to maintain a distance just to ensure fans don't fight.

So most of their BTS were cut by Tencent because they were not suitable to show in public. Now most of sweet BTS were bought by fans from staff under table. The BTS owners released them in a China platform where has less users, and they quickly deleted them in 1-2 hours.

Today you can see these unofficial bts is because fans spent lots of money to by these abandoned clips. So they were no need to pass censorship. You can compared these abandoned bts with officials one (which had WeTv logo on the top) and you will see how officials cut all those flirting parts.
