  • This missing link with rehabilitating low back pain is often diaphragmatic breath training.
    Functional movement screen guru Gray Cook says "breathing connects all parts of the movement matrix, but it remains the most neglected aspect of the western approach to exercise, athletic conditioning and rehabilitation"
    In a chapter titled 'Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization' they say "functionally, posture and respiration are interdependent, forming one functional unit. Dysfunction in one compromises the other and vise versa. The training of the idea posture must be concurrent with the training of the idea breathing pattern"

    Are not many doctors and chiropractors who are as knowledgeable and caring as you. Thank you. Most just rush into adjustments and get the patient out rather than explaining and treating the root cause .. thank you 🙏 once again

    Nice video from a fellow Logan grad. People forget that the diaphragm attaches to the lumbar spine and is usually involved in most LBP cases.

Much appreciated. BTW I am In NYC. Are you near by for training or do you know of anyone in The Manhattan area that could assist with your technique? Many Thx Tommy F.

    Awesome. Crazy as I’m in martial arts / boxing my whole life but never braced/ breathed / acknowledged - the lower abs and expansion of lungs. Do you always breathe in thru your nose and out thru your mouth?? And Is belly pulled in at all times and you never let your belly fall?

    • @imporylem
      @imporylem Před 2 lety

      never pull your belly in. if you succesfully activate your inner core muscles. it just gets toned and tightened just enough. your bracing should come on top of that.

    • @DrJeffreyOGuinSaintLouis
      @DrJeffreyOGuinSaintLouis  Před 3 lety

      not necessarily "works them". However, because the diaphragm is a CORE muscle, working it can be beneficial for the CORE as a whole.
