Wonderful time document for all Gothenburger's to see. The tram journey takes us right through the city core where we see beautiful landmarks that were unfortunately torn in the demolition evil that prevailed in Sweden for a while. Note how people move, what they wear and the atmosphere in the city. It's completely different today, even though many buildings still stand. Of course, a kind of nostalgia and melancholy for the past comes over. 400 years of Gothenburg (1621 - 2021).

Very beautiful! It looks a bit like San Francisco did forever ago...
Sad to see what we've done with what they built

Just for the note here. In Sweden there was a demolition madness between 1950-70. Too many beautiful buildings were demolished and even whole neighbourhoods. They were replaced with boring modernistic structures that oozed socialism. This was very sad and in line with the political powers then to modernize and improve... One can understand that this was done in the rest of Europe due to WWII with the fact they needed to build back fast. I've researched this and how the streets looked before and today is disturbing. And to further expand this note for anyone interested. I've talked to architects, both students and pro's about why we don't build beautiful anymore. The answer is there is no skill to do it and it costs too much - with the emphasis on the lack of skill. Quinlan Terry and his son are eminent figures in traditional architecture and have some videos for those who like to indulge. *end of note* =)
