I remember going to London to see the Golden Horde play the Mean Fiddler with my little Sony tape recorder in hand. I still have that tape somewhere, I'll need to upload it as there's not much live Horde on YT. A great band.
Saw them at either McGonagles or the Baggott Inn way back when. Excellent show, one of loads of great Irish bands from the 80's that never really made it outside Ireland.
Awesome band from back in the day in Ireland. To answer Lucretia (My Reflection)'s question - probably not many. Spent 11 years in London and now living in Australia. The Horde were excellent. Two abiding memories - first being a Fresher's Ball at Trinity where they did ABBA's Knowing Me Knowing You. Simon and a guest, who I can't recall, doing amusing routine during the chorus. The second at the Top Hat in Dun Laoghire sometime early '93. Turned up early, way too early, and ended up sitting at the bar while they sound checked. They did an amazing version of the Grateful Dead's Ripple. Happy days indeed.
