Yes I do train, Doumbe was landing the leg kicks and body shots. Yes Nieky had success with the jab,but the round is definetly not a decisive Nieky round.

I like Nieky and think he is an amazing fighter. But, on this match he got outclassed. Cannot believe some of the judges & commentators. Shocking that they can think they can be so obviously biased and people not gna notice. Good fight and well deserved for the new champion. All the best to Nieky as well as he is a tough fighter
What a great demonstration of how to use movement, angles, and aggression to counter a skilled pressure fighter.
I love the beauty of how Holtzen fights, it's very much like Petrosyan (The Doctor) but I'm in love with Doumbe's style - it takes some getting used to to understand it because it's simply more complicated, more intuitive and more natural. To express yourself in a fight the way Doumbe does with all that's at stake and more so against a brilliant pressure fighter like Holtzen is just a different level.
Holzken has always fought the same flat-footed dutch style throughout his career. it's not that brilliant. He is just a heavy handed fighter

Doumbe reminds me of watching a boxer. Doumbe comes with a lot of interesting angles and great athleticism.

Nieky had several bright spots but it was clear Doumbe dominated the fight with volume of strikes and power shots. The commentators kept giving Nieky benefit of the doubt and showed obvious bias. Both fighters are exceptional talent and made it an interesting matchup. still this fight had a winner.
Doumbe just signed with ufc . I'm super excited he's fighting 3rd September 2022 in Paris.

I played it at 0,25 to see the details, Nieky fakes a jab to set up the kick, Doumbe dodges the fake jab but when he sees that it was a feint he immediately understand the trap and dodge the kick before even seeing it coming. His brain works too fast

Had to keep watching with the volume down because i can't stand these Glory announcers they're always so biased. Nieky was getting is ass whooped but they were acting like he was doing something.

He’s walking Doumbe down the entire fight and hitting the only meaningful strikes. Doumbe throws quickly but nothing damaging and hits gloves for the most part except for the quick leg kicks that were too fast of a stick-and move variety. That’s what muy Thai judges are seeing to be honest. The reason Doumbe won was he was able to avoid enough damage enough while hitting more strikes, despite them being noticeably weaker. When they say he’s waking up they are referencing the fact that he avoided the whole first two rounds while throwing strikes only as a way to maneuver away and pivot

Nicky has a very passive style of boxing that I think people are missing here. He has very tight defense where he takes the power out of landing punches and hunts for knockouts and pointers. Its like a more technical version of Foreman's boxing.
Doumbe is a dodger and switches styles a lot. That's quite beautiful to see to be fair. Much more spectacular. He has amazing speed as well.
All in all a good fight, but 5 rounds wasn't even nearly enough to be indicative of who is the better fighter here.
Depends on your definition of better fighter really.. do you like actual threat/damage/knock out because then Niecky cleary stronger. More technical, more flexible athleticism and broader ability, then Cedric. By winning points/rounds, Cedric. Knock outs, Niecky- but it's not guaranteed for every fight. Whereas keeping busy to score points and impede opponent strategy is probably more reliable/versatile. GSP/Khabib are this type.

Valtellini is a really good color guy and doesn't deserve the heat. At the end of the fight they scored it pretty accurate with Doumbe as the winner. But the play by play announcer was totally bias and sounded stupid and totally ignored Doumbe's low kick volume.

Think the slow methodical way of fighting oftens backfires against high stamina fighters. Cedric was landing way more. But great fight overall by both.

Came here after the JRE podcast, glad I did because Glory is pretty awesome but FUCK these commentators excluding Overeem but I have never heard more bias commentators who ignored most of Cedric’s accomplishments in the ring but highlighted everything about Holzken.
